Ram Kapoor ‘will not say a word' about Ekta Kapoor weeks after their face-off, says he owes his career to her: ‘She believed in me when…
Ekta Kapoor is arguably the most well-known individual in the Indian television sphere, with shows like Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, Kumkum Bhagya and Pavitra Rishta under her belt. On the other corner is actor Ram Kapoor, who has been the face of Indian television for more than 20 years. The duo started locking horns earlier this year, when Ekta clapped back at Ram for talking about shooting intimate scenes for Bade Acche Lagte Hain. In a recent interview, Ram weighed in on the entire episode and refused to continue this back and forth with Ekta. In an interview with NDTV, Ram, who has worked with Ekta on shows like Bade Achhe Lagte Hain and Kasamh Se, addressed the entire confrontation between him and Ekta and her comments about him in particular. The actor made it clear that he does not want to add anything else to the conversation and stated that he does not mind Ekta's comments about his career or personal life. 'She can say whatever she wants to, but I will not say a word. Because at the end of the day, she gave me what no one gave me. She believed in me when nobody else did. And for that, I will always be grateful. She has the right to say whatever she wants to about me till the end of my career.' ALSO READ: Ram Kapoor says 'nothing is impossible' as he divides the internet with his toned physique: 'Looking like Karan Johar in…' To give some context, this entire bout started back when Ram made an appearance on Siddharth Kannan's podcast and talked about shooting an intimate scene with co-star Sakshi Tanwar on the sets of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. Ram admitted that he felt uncomfortable shooting the scene and was also worried about how the audience would react to it. He expressed these feelings to Ekta, but the producer was confident about the scene and decided to go ahead with it. Soon after the comment, Ekta posted a cryptic message about 'unprofessional actors' on social media, and all fans were pretty sure of who she was talking about. Several jabs at Ram's drastic weight loss and clapbacks from Ram's wife, Gautami Kapoor, also followed. To add fuel to the fire, actor Amar Upadhyay also had a problem with Ram's comments about his career. During the same podcast, Ram had shared a story of how he had advised Amar against leaving television and called his move to films the wrong decision. Amar was quick to revert and said that he has enough on his plate when it comes to work and Ram needn't worry about his career. Apart from this interesting episode, Ram will next be seen in the web series Mistry, which will premiere on JioHotstar on June 27. The show is an adaptation of the award-winning US show Monk, and instead of Tony Shalhoub, we will be seeing Ram playing the role of the germaphobe, eccentric and brilliant detective.

NDTV Exclusive: Ram Kapoor On Fallout With Ekta Kapoor - "She Has The Right To Say Whatever She Wants"
New Delhi: In an exclusive conversation with NDTV, Ram Kapoor finally addressed the much-speculated fallout with television czarina Ekta Kapoor and his words were a mix of restraint, gratitude, and clarity. Without getting into the details of what sparked the public rift, Ram maintained a dignified silence and firmly refused to say anything against Ekta. He said, "She can say whatever she wants to, but I will not say a word. Because at the end of the day, she gave me what no one gave me." The actor credited Ekta with launching his career and giving him opportunities when no one else did. "She believed in me when nobody else did. And for that, I will always be grateful. She has the right to say whatever she wants to about me till the end of my career," the actor added. The fallout became a viral moment after Ram appeared on a podcast, where he reflected on his career and mentioned that the intimate scene between him and Sakshi Tanwar in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain had unintended consequences for Ekta. The comment went viral, prompting a sharp, though indirect, response from Ekta Kapoor, who labelled the actor "unprofessional" without naming him. Soon after, Ram's wife, actor Gautami Kapoor, seemingly responded by taking a dig at Ekta's comments about Ram's weight loss - a move that added more fuel to the fire. However, Ram brushed off the speculation. "My wife knows where I stand. It was all in good fun," he clarified. Ram's measured tone and refusal to fuel the fire further show his deep-rooted respect for Ekta, despite any personal differences. "You cannot forget what someone has done for you," he repeated. While the feud had triggered a social media frenzy, Ram Kapoor's response has brought his perception of the situation to light.
