Al-Hadhan Village: Hidden Gem of Nature, Heritage in Najran

Al-Hadhan Village, located southwest of Najran city, offers a captivating blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. With its lush green fields, flourishing palm groves, and centuries-old mud-brick homes, the village presents a picturesque and timeless scene that attracts visitors from across the Kingdom and beyond. Abdullah Adlan, a local resident with a deep passion for agriculture and rural tourism, describes village life as peaceful and grounded in strong community ties. Most residents make their living through farming and livestock raising, while also actively engaging in local events that reinforce their social fabric. The villagers take immense pride in preserving their cultural legacy, particularly by restoring historical mud structures—some of which date back several centuries—to safeguard their architectural heritage for generations to come. According to Adlan, Al-Hadhan also plays a vital role in the region's agriculture. Its fertile soil and plentiful freshwater resources support the cultivation of a wide array of crops, including grapes, strawberries, dates, figs, lemons, and oranges. Ibrahim Al Mansour, head of the Tourism Cooperative Society in Najran, emphasizes the village's deep historical roots, which are evident in its ancient landmarks and traditional architecture. He notes that Al-Hadhan once served as a key stop for trade caravans journeying from Yemen, a role that underscores its historical importance. Today, its prime location—surrounded by mountains, green oases, and scenic valleys—makes it one of Najran's standout tourist destinations. Al Mansour also praised the warm hospitality of the local community, which leaves a lasting impression on all who visit.
