Volvo's Electric EX30 Cross Country confirmed for SA
Volvo Car South Africa has confirmed that the EX30 Cross Country will arrive locally in the third quarter of 2025. Built on the standard model, this will serve as a tougher, more rugged counterpart. Looking for a new or used Volvo? Find it here with CARmag! The Cross Country badge, first used on the V70 back in 1997, returns here with an off-road-inspired makeover. Volvo has given the EX30 a raised ride height (19mm higher than the standard EX30), chunkier body cladding, and 19-inch five-spoke wheels finished in Matte Graphite with black aero inserts. Volvo Launches Electrifying EX30 Lease Deal For June
The 2025 model year marks the debut of the Volvo EX30, the automaker's latest addition to its electrified lineup. Currently, the crossover is only available with dual electric motors, but the single-motor model is reportedly on the way. Volvo is offering an enticing lease deal for the model's first year on the market, with monthly payments as low as $539. That specific lease offer requires a $4,075 down payment and includes an annual 7,500-mile allowance. The Volvo EX30 comes in two trim levels, with both models powered by a dual-motor setup, which means AWD is the standard. The electric crossover comes equipped with a 69 kWh battery good for 253 miles on a single charge. Like most EVs, the EX30 is a powerhouse, delivering 422 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque that propels the crossover to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. In terms of charging speed, Volvo's entry EV can charge to 80% in less than half an hour when connected to a DC fast charger. The all-electric crossover rolls out on athletic 19-inch glossy-black diamond-cut wheels wrapped in all-season tires. A panoramic roof comes standard, as does a nine-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system. In terms of connectivity, the EX30 features wireless phone charging, a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The crossover also comes with a heat pump, which improves efficiency in colder weather. While the Twin Performance Plus and Ultra share plenty of features, the latter adds a few additional amenities like pilot assist, lane change assist, and a 360-degree camera. Both models come with LED taillights, but only the Twin Performance Ultra trim gets LED headlights. The top trim level also gets more optional amenities, like tailored wool blend upholstery The 2025 Volvo EX30 lease deal varies according to trim level and location, but not by much. Seattle, Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, Detroit, Miami, and New York City share an identical deal on the Twin Performance Plus model. Getting into the entry-level model could cost you as little as $549 per month and a $4,119 down payment. Leasing the Twin Performance Plus trim in Seattle, Los Angeles, Denver, and Chicago will cost you $589 per month, with $3,949 due at signing. Stepping up to the Twin Performance Ultra will cost you an additional $6 down in Detroit and Miami, bringing the total to $589 per month and $3,955 due at signing. These lease offers span 36 months with an annual 10,000-mile allowance. Austin and Charlotte get a slightly better deal on the Twin Performance Plus trim, $539 per month and a $4,075 down payment. Upgrading to the Twin Performance Ultra trim will cost you $579 per month, with $3,879 due at signing. There's a catch, though. While these lease offers are for a 36-month term, both deals reduce the annual mileage allowance to 7,500. Act quickly if you want a new Volvo EX30 in your driveway, though, as these lease deals are only valid through June 30th. Whether you're looking for your first EV or upgrading to a new model, the Volvo EX30 is a solid choice. The Scandinavian crossover mixes performance and luxury without cutting corners. Add in a full suite of safety systems and enough range for daily driving, and the Volvo EX30 creates a strong foundation for the Swedish manufacturer's electrified future. If you want to add an EX30 to your fleet, act sooner rather than later, as these lease offers are only valid through June. Lease offers may vary according to location, vehicle configuration, and are subject to credit approval. Advertised monthly payments don't necessarily include taxes, title, registration, or other fees.
