Victoria Beckham's New 'Uncut' Bob Is The Ultimate Short Summer Haircut - This Is How To Recreate It

2025 has seen all manner of chic, bouncy bobs dominating our algorithms, from Italian bobs to the 'old money' style and the newly upgraded graduated bob. But it seems that for summer - and what is expected to be a short-lived heatwave in the UK - a softer, shorter shape is cropping up as the warmer weather takes hold, as proven by Victoria Beckham's latest cut. Eschewing her lob haircut and the old school graduated bob for which she became synonymous during her Spice Girls era, Beckham just debuted her shortest hairstyle for years – a chin-grazing 'uncut' bob. The business founder and beauty mogul debuted her soft, new cut in an Instagram video while getting her and make-up and hair done, which revealed soft layers with a choppier style, and a much shorter finish – a haircut stylists are predicting will dominate this summer. FIND OUT MORE ON ELLE COLLECTIVE 'The undone messy bob is definitely gaining popularity right now,' agrees Mitchell Ladbrook, a Senior Stylist at Nicola Clarke x John Frieda salons. It speaks to growing demand both for shorter hairstyles (see: the rise of the pixie cut) but also a move towards less uniformity and perfected hair. The chicer blunt bobs feel more like a nod to 'quiet luxury', while these messier, more textured cuts feel cooler and fresher. A style such as Victoria's does require a specific cutting technique, in which a hairdresser usually cuts choppy layers into the hair, and regular salon visits. 'Make sure you are in for regular appointments to keep it fresh and in shape,' adds Ladbrook. When it comes to styling, less really is more – you want it to look lived in and with plenty of movement. You can either use a round brush to create texture or simply rely on a few styling products and leave your hair to dry naturally. For a textured, uncut bob I would use Sam McKnight Sundaze Sea Salt Spray for a natural beachy style texture and Sam McKnight's Cool Girl Spray on dry hair. It's ideal if you don't like too much product in your hair, as it's super light but still achieves that textured look,' he shares. Haircare is paramount too. 'Start with a good shampoo and conditioner to keep the hair nourished, a heat protector spray and generally I would always use a volume spray or mousse in the roots,' adds Charlie Williams, Gielly Green Signature Stylist. The Summer Solstice Is Here - And It's More Than A Cosmic Event, It's A Wake-Up Call

On June 20, the summer solstice will arrive, ushering in the longest, brightest day in the northern hemisphere. As the sun ascends to its highest elevation, a mirage takes place. For three days, that great ball of fire appears to hover in place in the sky. Fittingly, solstice is actually derived from two Latin words: 'sol' which means 'sun' and 'sistere' which means 'to stand still.' There's an invitation encoded in that name. Can we stand still for a few days? In a year dense with noise—protests in the streets, algorithms in overdrive—any break in the action might seem like denial or, worse, defeat. But we're not talking about freeze in the fight-or-flight sense. The solstice creates space for a purposeful pause, one that allows us to gather our inner strength. We also have an opportunity to sit in our emotional truth. Cancer season begins with the summer solstice each June, bringing a soulful sensitivity to the world. A gentle reminder streams in with the solstice: There is strength in our softness and our willingness to care. Fittingly, some of the most quietly commanding figures in modern history happen to be Cancerians, including Malala Yousafzai, the Dalai Lama, and Nelson Mandela. While they fought for different freedoms, they have this in common: Each one stood still and firm in their fight for human rights. You can read your daily horoscope here Malala Yousafzai, born July 12, survived a targeted attack from the Taliban for standing up for girls' education. She went on to become a global voice for empowering women and girls. Since 2013, her birthday has been honored as Malala Day, an annual international celebration focused on education advocacy. The Dalai Lama, born July 6, has modeled stillness as a source of strength since his exile from Tibet in 1959. Through his gentle teachings on compassion and unwavering commitment to peace, he's reminded the world that the refusal to retaliate with violence can be as impactful as protest. Legendary South African anti-apartheid activist Nelson Mandela was born on July 18. After enduring 27 years of imprisonment, he became the country's first Black president in 1994. In the spirit of standing still, Mandela refused to be conditionally released from prison on certain occasions, choosing instead to uphold his principles. As the sun pauses at its peak this solstice, we're reminded that growth doesn't always look like motion. Sometimes, it looks like standing your ground or waiting for clarity. Like gathering light before the next season. It isn't inertia—it's calibration. The world will keep spinning, the headlines will keep coming, but for a moment, we're invited to take a cue from the cosmos: to be still, feel deeply, and choose our next step from a place of rooted knowing. The sun will move again, and so will we, but not before we take a breath. ELLE Collective is a new community of fashion, beauty and culture lovers. 'The Waterfront': The Real Story Behind Netflix's Latest Dark Crime Thriller Family Drama

There's something about a TV series that sees a family struggle to maintain their dominance as their empire begins to crumble that we can't quite get enough of. And Netflix's latest series The Waterfront on June 19 is all about this. Said to be a blend of Succession, Outer Banks and Ozark, the eight part series follows the Buckley family living in the fictional coastal city of Haventown, North Carolina. After becoming a prominent family in the region following their success in operating fishing and restaurant businesses, they take drastic measures to stay afloat when hardship strikes. To find out all that there is to know about the real story behind the series, keep reading below. The official logline is as follows: 'For decades, the Buckley family has ruled Havenport, North Carolina, dominating everything from the local fishing industry to the town's restaurant scene. But their fishing empire has started to crumble as patriarch Harlan Buckley (Holt McCallany) recovers from two heart attacks, and his wife Belle (Maria Bello) and son Cane (Jake Weary) venture into the deep end to keep the family businesses afloat.' 'As their attempts spiral out of control and into treacherous waters, Harlan steps back in to take command. Facing her own demons, Buckley daughter Bree (Melissa Benoist) — an addict in recovery who's lost custody of her son Diller (Brady Hepner) — finds herself entangled in a complicated relationship that could threaten the family's future forever.' Kevin Williamson calls The Waterfront his most personal story yet, the writer and creator of the series drew directly from his own upbringing and family's past. 'I come from a long line of fishermen,' he told Tudum. Further into the interview, he revealed that due to the fishing industry's collapse in the 1980s, his father was forced into making desperate and illegal choices. 'The fishing industry sort of upturned… my dad couldn't feed his family. So, someone came along and said, "Hey, if you do this one thing, you can make all this money." And it was hard to say no to.' His father became a drug runner, transporting them on his boat. 'My dad — a very, very good man — got tempted to do some things that weren't so legal… it put food on the table, helped me go to college.' As for the family dynamics seen in The Waterfront, many of the characteristics of his family members echo throughout the Buckley family. 'I had my dad in my head,' Williamson said of the character Harlan Buckley. Belle Buckley, the matriarch of the family is based on his actual mother, William revealed. 'Mine kept everything going. I got to school and graduated college because of the fire she lit under my butt.' ELLE Collective is a new community of fashion, beauty and culture lovers. Dakota Johnson's Summer Glow Is Thanks To Beauty Pie - Here's How To Recreate It In 3 Steps

Hot off the heels of her Materialists US press tour, Dakota Johnson has been making headlines beyond the impressive reviews racking up for the modern rom-com in which she stars alongside Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal. When it's not her enviable fringe (and the products behind her light-reflecting glass hair) or her ineffably stylish wardrobe, which has seen the actor experiment with everything from Ferragamo co-ords to off-duty suede and denim and sheer one-pieces – it's her signature glow that's capturing the world's attention. Contrary to popular opinion, Johnson's radiant complexion is not the work of an on-hand A-list facialist and next-gen treatments, nor a 10-step routine harnessing the most luxurious of formulas; it's all down to an affordable, editor-loved make-up brand. During the latest New York press tour, her make-up artist, Georgie Eisdell, in fact revealed that the secret to Johnson's impossibly glowing complexion was all thanks to subscription service Beauty Pie, the brainchild of Marcia Kilgore who, tired of the eye-watering mark-ups that are all too common in the beauty industry today, decided to expel the luxe marketing and bring to the fore skincare, make-up and hair-care direct from suppliers – and at far more affordable price tags. Some of the products responsible for creating Johnson's summer glow retail for as little as £8 for members. 'I started with the Superluminous Tinted Glow Serum in Light Warm to even out the complexion and add a natural glow,' said Eisdell, following with the much-loved Everyday Great Skin Concealer – the kind that instantly brightens under the eyes and can cover all manner of sins while still letting your skin breathe and looking lightweight and fresh. As for Johnson's sunlit glow, there were three products to which she can credit that luminous, light-reflecting finish: the Awesome Bronze Bronzing Cream in Sunny Side, Luxe Shine Blush in Terra Rosa and the Triple Beauty Luminising Highlighter Wand. 'To warm up the complexion, I used the bronzer across the cheekbones, temples and jawline; then I tapped the blush stick on the apples of the cheek for a fresh pop of colour and finished the skin with a swipe of highlighter on the high points,' she added. The result is a sun-kissed, natural-looking glow that teeters on the borders of glass skin, while also still appearing with fresh and dewy. Her make-up artist also shared which skincare she used to create her Materialists glow from the inside out. You might recognise some of the formulas responsible too - including the Beauty Of Joseon Revive Eye Serum and the Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics SPF50+. Rare is it for Johnson to reveal the inner secrets of her beauty routine. In the past, while keeping specific product specifications to herself, she has revealed she is a fan of LED masks and facial massage (to boost lymphatic drainage) and harnesses various meditative practices for mind-body connection, too.
