The Telangana Engineering Common Entrance Test (ECET) 2025 counselling schedule has been officially released, allowing students who have completed their polytechnic studies to gain direct entry into the second year of and courses, starting from tomorrow, June 14. The announcement was made by Professor Balakishta Reddy, Chairman of the State Council of Higher Education and Chair of the Admissions Committee. According to the schedule issued by Sridevasena, State Commissioner of Technical Education and Convener of Admissions, the counselling process will occur in two phases. The first phase will commence with slot booking, which will be available from June 14 to 18. Certificate verification is set to take place from June 17 to 19, followed by the opportunity for students to register their web options from June 17 to 21. Seat allocation is scheduled for June 25, with successful candidates required to report online by June 29. The second phase of counselling will begin on July 11, with applications accepted from July 11 to 13. Certificate verification will occur on July 14, and students can submit their web options until July 15. Seat allocation is planned for July 18, with online reporting due by July 20. Students are required to join their assigned colleges by July 23. Additionally, spot admission guidelines will be issued on July 22, with the completion of spot admissions set for July 29, following the established timetable.

Hyderabad: Over 90% (93.87) aspirants have qualified in the Telangana Engineering Common Entrance Test (TG ECET) 2025 exam, conducted by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TGCHE). Of the 18,928 students who appeared for the exam, 17,768 cleared it across 11 branches such as pharmacy, chemical engineering, and others. The results were declared by TGCHE chairman V Balakista Reddy at Osmania University (OU) on Sunday. ECET is conducted to provide lateral entry into the second year of undergraduate engineering programmes for diploma holders in engineering, technology, pharmacy, and mathematics degree holders. The highest number of candidates (5,336) qualified in electronics and communication engineering (ECE). It was followed by computer science engineering (4,879), electrical and electronics engineering (4,201), civil engineering (2,578), and mechanical (2,035). Hyderabad logged the highest number of qualifiers, 12,654 candidates, followed by Karimnagar (2,268) and Warangal (1,496). As many as 4,005 students cleared from Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities and 1,586 from Scheduled Caste (SC) communities. Toppers in engineering and non-engineering streams were B Santosh Kumar of Medchal (BSc Mathematics), Lenka Tesjasai of Visakhapatnam (chemical engineering), Golkonda Nikhil Koushik of Jayashankar Bhupalpally (civil engineering), K Srikanth of Narayanpet (CSE), and Katle Revathi of Siddipet (ECE). Kasula Srinivas of Hanumakonda (EEE), Raparthi Chandana of Jagtial (EIE), Pothuganti Karthik of Peddapalli (mechanical engineering), Thota Subrahmanyam of Kakinada (metallurgical engineering), Kurma Akshaya of Peddapalli (mining engineering), and Aili Chandana of Hanumakonda (pharmacy) bagged top ranks in their respective streams. After releasing the results, Reddy said that the admission process would take place as per the existing rules, suggesting that students from Telangana would be preferred over non-locals.
