Miley Cyrus Accused "Hannah Montana" Costars Of Smoking Weed On Set

Miley Cyrus has been spilling some behind-the-scenes secrets from her Disney Channel days. Although, there seems to be a bit of contention as to what the truth really is. As you may have noticed, Miley is everywhere at the moment, promoting her new album and its accompanying film. And while touring all the big podcasts, she stopped by for an appearance on the Sorry We're Cyrus pod, which happens to be hosted by her mom, Tish Cyrus, and her older sister, Brandi Cyrus. During a round of quickfire questions, Tish asked Miley to reveal 'a core memory from the Hannah Montana days that still makes [her] laugh,' to which her daughter replied without hesitation: 'Dad smoking pot and everyone blaming me for it.' For context, Miley and her real-life dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, starred together as a father-daughter duo on the iconic Disney Channel series, which aired from 2006 to 2011. Miley was just 13 years old when she made her Hannah Montana debut. Tish and Brandi burst out laughing at the reply. 'I do remember that,' Brandi said, as Miley called the situation 'hilarious.' Notably, Tish — who divorced Billy Ray in 2022 — even remembered being contacted about the alleged issue at the time, admitting that she was reluctant to believe it. 'They were calling me, saying B. Ray was smoking pot, and I was saying, 'Absolutely not. He would never do that,'' Tish recalled, adding that she instead placed the blame on Mitchel Musso, one of the other young actors on the show who played Oliver Oken. Responding to her mom, Miley agreed that it probably 'was Mitchel Musso' who was smoking weed on set, as well as her dad. 'It was Mitchel,' she said through laughter. 'It was both!' Well, not even a day after the podcast episode dropped, Mitchel himself has entered the chat to dispute Miley and Tish's claims. In a statement to E! News, Mitchel said: 'Well, that's not how I remember it. However, I've got plenty of stories from those years that might be worth having a conversation about. If we're revisiting Hannah Montana history — just say the word.' 'All love to Miley and the fam,' he concluded, 'even when the rewrites get this creative.' I'll let you make of that what you will. For what it's worth, Billy Ray hasn't addressed the claim yet, although we've reached out to his rep for comment.

Miley Cyrus claims she was once blamed for dad's Hannah Montana drug use

Miley Cyrus has claimed her dad Billy Ray Cyrus used to 'smoke pot' on the set of Hannah Montana – and she got the blame. The 32-year-old singer, who shot to fame playing a teenage school girl with a secret life as a pop star on the Disney Channel sitcom between 2006 and 2011, admitted the awkward moment was her most 'hilarious' memory from the series. During an appearance on her mother Tish Cyrus and sister Brandi Cyrus' Sorry We're Cyrus podcast, Miley was asked to share her funniest memory from the show. 'Dad smoking pot and everyone blaming me for it. It's hilarious,' she recalled. 'He wasn't sharing 'cause Tish wasn't toking yet.' Her mother laughed as she remembered the incident, and joked she tried to defend her then-husband – who she divorced in 2023 – while putting the blame on Miley's co-star Mitchel Musso. 'They were calling me, saying B-Ray was smoking pot, and I was saying: ''Absolutely not, he would never do that. It's Mitchel Musso,'' she quipped. Miley replied: 'Well, it was Mitchel. It was Mitchel Musso! It was both.' However, Mitchel – who played Miley's friend Oliver on the show – had different memories of the incident. 'Well, that's not how I remember it,' the 33-year-old former child star said in a statement to E! News. 'However, I've got plenty of stories from those years that might be worth having a conversation about. 'If we're revisiting Hannah Montana history – just say the word. All love to Miley and the fam … even when the rewrites get this creative.' Elsewhere during the chat with her mum and sister, Miley also revealed a recent incident in which her mother seemingly unfollowed her on Instagram after the singer went to see Billy Ray, 63. More Trending This sparked rumours of another family feud – but the singer has revealed it was actually just a 'bug' in the platform. 'If you were in the family or not in the family, it was weird timing. I went to see B-Ray, and you did mysteriously unfollow me – and then you got some backlash and suddenly knew how to press that follow button,' she joked. 'The truth is boring. There's a bug in Meta, it naturally unfollows the person that you follow with the most engagement … I was either, like: 'Mom lost her glasses and can't see,' which is what I thought happened. Then, there was actually a bug in Meta.' View More » Metro has contacted Billy Ray Cyrus' reps for comment. Got a story? The singer shot to fame playing a teenage school girl with a secret life as a pop star on the show - which ran between 2006 and 2011 - and she's now recalled her most "hilarious" memory from the series was when her country star father smoked a joint backstage and the blame fell on her. Halsey intervenes during concert to save videographer from getting burned, Entertainment News

Halsey intervened during her concert to save a videographer from getting burned. The Bad at Love hitmaker was performing in Pittsburgh on June 14 when she noticed the camera operative was in the path of upcoming pyrotechnics, and after her subtle hint failed to make the man move, she took more drastic measures. According to E! News, Halsey had mouthed "Get out of the way" to the videographer while singing Without Me, but when he failed to pick up her cue, she jumped up and rushed to shove the man off the side of the stage before the flames shot out. Halsey told the videographer: "There's pyro coming! Move!" The 30-year-old singer then quickly ran back to the centre of the stage with a nervous laugh to carry on the song. @bbachman09 Replying to @Instrumental Gamer ♬ original sound - bbachman09 This isn't the first time Halsey — who has three-year-old son Ender with former partner Alev Aydin and is engaged to Avan Jogia — has encountered a major mishap during a show. In 2021, everything "stopped working" during a concert at New York's Madison Square Garden. Halsey told The Late Late Show with James Corden: "I was onstage, and everything stopped working. Sound, lights, video, music, the whole thing, my brain. "Everything malfunctioned, and I had to stand on the stage for two minutes talking to the crowd. Two minutes in stage time is like a century." The Gasoline singer eventually opted to start the whole performance again. She continued: "When that happened to me, I just started my whole show over from the top, so that I could do the whole thing with no mistakes." Halsey and Avan got engaged towards the end of last year and the 33-year-old actor recently spoke of how much he enjoys being able to "make art" with his fiancee. He told People magazine: "One of the great joys of being with someone who's an artist is being able to make art with them and to go back and forth about the art that they're making and how you can contribute and be helpful, and them being able to contribute and be helpful to your own art. "The only thing that I care about is the making of things. "So when you have someone who can meet you there and meet you where you're at, that's one of the joys of it, for sure. "If she busts through the door and has an idea, and I bust the door and have an idea, and it doesn't have to be about acting or music or movies — it could be a cookbook — we just make what we have to. "I think I'm happy to have found someone I can be matched with in that capacity." [[nid:719264]]

Does And Just Like That Remember What Happened in Sex and the City?

Warning: This post contains spoilers for Episode 4 of And Just Like That Season 3. A few weeks ago there was a video going around of Sarah Jessica Parker appearing to acknowledge that she doesn't remember the episode of Sex and the City that produced the viral "Hungover Miranda" meme. The moment, clipped from a BuzzFeed roundtable interview with Parker and her And Just Like That costars Cynthia Nixon (Miranda), Kristin Davis (Charlotte), and Sarita Choudhury (Seema), resulted in a number of annoyed comments from fans on TikTok pointing out Parker's apparent lack of knowledge surrounding the events of the original series. The reveal also came in the wake of a May interview with E! News in which Parker said she's never seen "most of" Sex and the City and doesn't watch And Just Like That. Despite being an executive producer, Parker is obviously not the only person who has control over the creative direction of And Just Like That. Now in its third season, the sequel series has made some controversial leaps—remember Che Diaz?—while staying more or less true to spirit of the original. But after the events of episode 4, we're beginning to question whether anyone in charge of And Just Like That recalls the show's massively successful predecessor at all. Titled "Apples to Apples," the fourth episode of Season 3 largely takes place in Norfolk, Virginia, at the down-home country farmhouse of one Aidan Shaw (John Corbett). Aidan has moved up in the world since the time he coerced Carrie into spending a weekend at his, let's call it, rustic cabin in the vaguely upstate and aptly-named New York town of Suffern, a 40-minute drive from Manhattan. That little getaway took place in Season 4 of Sex and the City and featured a Carrie we recognized, one who shrieked at squirrels, drove over state lines to get cell service and fast food, and, for some unknowable reason, invited her ex-boyfriend Big (Chris Noth)—the very same one she had previously cheated on Aidan with—to come stay for a night. The country just wasn't for her. As she put it, "I'm what you call a bona fide city girl." This time around, Carrie spends the weekend acting pretty much completely un-Carrie-like. After smuggling in an illicitly-obtained supply of Adderall for Aidan's son Wyatt (Logan Souza)—a favor Aidan was unaware his ex-wife Kathy (Rosemarie DeWitt) had requested of her—Carrie participates in such activities as fishing, driving an ATV, family game night, and wearing outfits obtained from local boutique Daisy's Dress Shop (after her incomprehensible first suggestion of Target turns out to be an hour away). Throughout all this, she delivers barely a sarcastic quip about her distaste for the simple life. No mention of being a "hick town hostage" or how the "silence is deafening" or her desire to instead be out "cocktailing and sample sale-ing." Of course, you can make the argument that it's been 20 years since Sex and the City and Carrie, as people do, may have changed in that time. But who among us is watching And Just Like That to see Carrie mature? Especially if that means her becoming an entirely different person than the Carrie we alternately love, hate, and love to hate. At least part of the reason many Sex and the City fans are tuning in to And Just Like That is out of a inclination to see Carrie continue to live her messy and fabulous life as a pretty egregiously out-of-touch Manhattan socialite. There's a reason (or several) that Carrie and Aidan broke up not once, but twice, in Sex and the City. And despite the fact that Big is no longer around to drive a wedge between them, it still doesn't seem like they're truly a match. And Just Like That is certainly piling onto their problems by throwing over 300 miles of separation, a troubled teen, and incompatible texting styles into the mix. Yet, Episode 4 still ends with Carrie committing to staying in a long-distance relationship with Aidan for the next five years despite his inability to promise her basically anything in return. It's understandable that Aidan needs to prioritize his children's wellbeing, but it seems like the Carrie of old would have taken that as a sign that they maybe aren't meant to be. At least for the time being. As her dear friend Miranda suggested before Carrie's first trip to the country all those years ago, if "you need to pretend to be someone else in order to be in a relationship," perhaps it's not the right fit. We can't help but wonder if And Just Like That will ever take that advice to heart.
