St. John's snags Big Sky MVP Dylan Darling in latest transfer portal coup
St. John's has landed yet another player in the transfer portal as it continues to build its roster for next season. Point guard Dylan Darling has committed to playing at St. John's next season, he announced in a post on Instagram late Thursday night after spending last season at Idaho State. Darling was one of the top scorers in the Big Sky Conference — averaging 19.8 points and 5.7 assists per game — and was named conference Most Valuable Player last season while playing for the Bengals. Jake O'Neil shot 5 for 11, including 2 for 4 from beyond the arc to finish with 12 points, while adding seven rebounds. Jake O'Neil added 15 points while going 6 of 10 from the floor, including 1 for 3 from 3-point range, and 2 for 5 from the line while he also had 10 rebounds. Isaiah Griffin and AJ Burgin each had 12 points. Jacob Holt finished with 17 points for the Hornets (7-21, 3-12). Emil Skytta added 11 points and four assists for Sacramento State.
