King of the airwaves Joe Duffy's leaving bash to be held at 'The Duke Pub' in Dublin's City Centre.

Duffy is set to hang up his microphone after 47 years at the national broadcaster on June 27th, so his leaving bash is sure to be an emotional affair.
And the choice of venue for his farewell bash , The Duke Pub, holds special meaning for Duffy whose traditional Christmas Eve Liveline show is held from right outside the famous Dubin watering-hole. And the entire staff from RTE Radio towers have been invited to the bash to pay tribute to their much-loved colleague as Joe departs his role.

Announcing the news Duffy said his 27 years with 'Liveline' had been a 'privilege,' that he never took a day on-air for granted telling listeners: 'First of all, it has been — and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, an incredible honour and a privilege to be part of a programme that relied almost entirely on trust, the trust of our listeners.'

So as he prepares to walk out of Montrose for the last time next Friday, the leaving bash in the Duke Pub is sure to be as memorable as Joe.
