These are the exact locations of the 14 stations on the Dubai Metro Blue Line
In an exciting move for public transportation in Dubai, construction for the Dubai Metro Blue Line expansion is underway, and scheduled for completion in 2029. This massive expansion of the existing network was first discussed back in 2006, along with other potential lines and the expansion of the existing Red and Green lines. After much anticipation, the process has begun, and for those wondering about what the network will look like, we have all the details. The line will serve 9 key communities including Dubai International Airport, Mirdif, Al Warqa, International City 1 and 2, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Academic City, Ras Al Khor Industrial Area, Dubai Creek Harbour and Dubai Festival City. The university area covers more than 129 million square feet and is predicted to accommodate more than 50,000 students by 2029. This station will be a major interchange and the first point of first route of the Dubai Metro Blue Line. The station will allow people on the Blue Line to connect directly with the Green Line. Al Rashidiya Another existing interchange station, Centrepoint Station on the Red Line will be where the second route begins. The final station on the Red Line will connect with the Blue Line. A much needed connection to this growing community, the Al Warqa station will be found on the smaller second route of the Dubai Metro Blue Line. Mirdif is also an area in need for direct transport, considering the large residential, suburban population. This station will be located on the longer 21km route. This is where the world's tallest metro station will be. The Emaar Properties Station is set to be an iconic landmark with the 11,000 square metre space designed to handle up to 160,000 passengers, with more than 70,000 expected to use it daily once it is operational. A 1,300 metre-long bridge will be constructed to allow the Metro to cross the Dubai Creek, the first of it's kind. Dubai Festival City will sit along the larger 21km route of the Dubai Metro Blue Line and connect a vital Dubai mall. The Metro service will provide a direct link for the area to key parts in the city, and means that there won't be as much reliance on the abra boat service. Several of these communities on the the Blue Line will now be directly connected to Dubai International Airport. It is being estimated that this journeys the world's busiest international airport and will take just 20 minutes. Dubai Silicon Oasis is a major, growing community as part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. On the Blue Line, the station to this area will sit on the 21km route and serve a much needed area with at the moment, virtually no connectivity to Downtown. The stations will be located in International City, another area that is lacking connectivity at the moment. These will include one underground interchange station allowing for greater connectivity across the existing Metro lines. Ras Al Khor will also be served by the larger route on the Blue Line. Found between the Emaar Properties Station and the International City stops, Ras Al Khor will soon have greater connectivity with major areas in Dubai. Blue Line 'writing new chapter' in Dubai's real estate boom
Dubai Metro's Blue Line is having a profound positive impact on the emirate's real estate market, reshaping the real estate investments map and writing a new chapter in the city's real estate boom, said a leading Dubai-based real estate brokerage W Capital. In an in-depth analysis of the project, W Capital stated that the new Blue Line was in the heart of the Dubai Urban Plan 2040 framework, which aims to enhance urban sustainability, improve quality of life, and support transportation infrastructure. This will directly impact vital economic sectors, most notably the real estate sector, it stated. The project will cover areas of high strategic importance, including Al Warqaa, Mirdif and Dubai Academic City, and will reach Jebel Ali Port via Dubai International Airport. This extensive coverage will contribute to connecting new residential communities to existing economic centers, stimulating the growth of mid-market and emerging neighborhoods and transforming them into attractive investment destinations, said the statement. W Capital pointed out that the establishment of a metro station near any area often leads to an immediate increase in surrounding property prices by 15 to 25%, boosting rents and demand in the medium and long term. "The Dubai Metro Blue Line project is not just a new means of transportation; it is a true economic and development engine that will reshape the real estate investment map in the emirate," remarked its CEO Walid Al Zarooni. "We have already noticed early investor activities, especially in areas such as Al Warqa, Dubai Academic City, and the vicinity of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, where demand for land and residential units has increased by more than 30% compared to last year," he stated. "These areas, which were previously considered relatively remote suburbs, are now the focus of investors interest due to their proximity to major metro stations, giving them a significant competitive advantage," he added. Al Zarooni pointed out the importance of proactive thinking in real estate investment. "We at W Capital encourage investors to make decisions based on a future vision, not just current conditions. Investing in areas connected to metro stations now, before the project is completed, gives investors the opportunity to benefit from value growth over time," he noted. "Similar examples existed with the launch of the Red and Green Lines previously, where we witnessed significant price increases once the stations were operational," he added. Al Zarooni said one of the most important transformations to be witnessed in the next few years is the market's move toward real estate decentralisation. "Instead of being concentrated in specific areas such as the city center, real estate distribution will begin to spread towards new hubs created by infrastructure projects, most notably the Blue Line," he explained. "This shift will not only reduce pressure on overcrowded areas, but will also create real opportunities for developers of medium-cost projects and contribute to providing diverse housing solutions that meet the needs of a wider segment of the population," he added. According to him, the Blue Line project represents a new phase of Dubai's smart urban transformation whose impact will not only improve mobility but also transform investment patterns and population and real estate distribution. "Investors must take advantage of this pivotal phase and adopt long term plans in line with Dubai's future development trends," he added.

Abu Dhabi to stage ‘Metro Diaries' on June 21 and 22
The quiet hustle-and-bustle as one smoothly rolls and sways in a sea of nations – every day. Welcome to Metro Diaries. 'It happened one evening while we were having dinner with friends. Trixie thought of the idea and we realised that there is a possibility here as all of us experience using the rapid transit system and we have witnessed quite a few unforgettable moments there,' says Jomel Duran Reyes, in the UAE for the past decade, even as way back and upon arrival, his intention was only to stay briefly because he only 'wanted a break from work and school.' Trixie Danielle Balangao shares: 'My rides are very personal to me. I think about many things. I even cry sometimes because certain emotions surface in those lull moments.' 'I also like observing people. People from all walks of life. The amused. The confused. The tired. The happy,' she muses. These and more at the 'Metro Diaries,' when the 2003-conceptualised 55-station Dubai Metro, under the directive of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, breathes-in-and-breathes-out in another realm. The third full-length production of the 63Kolektib, a community of artists from the Philippines -- +63 being the country code – which Gulf Today had the chance to first interact with at the Bayt AlMamzar art space in Dubai, at their Feb. 26, 2022 inaugural meeting; 'Metro Diaries,' the musical play, shall be staged in the capital on June 21 and 22, commissioned by The Arts Center of the New York University-Abu Dhabi (NYUAD). Along with Abu Dhabi-based Jomel and multi-disciplinary artist-writer Trixie Danielle, in the full-English script, direction, and staging is Juan Gonzales, who partners with 19-year-old Rei Co for the choreography. Like Jomel and Trixie Danielle, Juan who had embraced early on that 'art must be engaged in social issues,' has been profoundly ensconced in the performing arts and theatre production, inside and outside of the classrooms. While Rei, only three years old when her parents decided to make the UAE their second home and by way of her Sima Performing Arts (Dubai) membership, from age six, is now a professional dancer, since crafting her own debut solo at age 13; the artistry of Jomel, Trixie Danielle, and Juan, have been sharpened even more, through their entry as cohorts at the Numoo. Numoo is the artistic development incubator or programme of The Arts Center began in 2021. 'I applied to be part of the first batch. I learnt more about being an artist here in the region and improved more on the business side of art-making and producing,' says Advertising and Public Relations degree holder Jomel, a Sining Lahi Polyrepertory member of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines who also studied some courses at the University of the Philippines-Graduate Studies in Theatre. 'Since then, there has been a good relationship with The Arts Center and many other local artists here,' adds Jomel who wants to promote Filipino culture through the lens of the migrant experience. Trixie Daniella is thankful to Jomel and Juan for her Numoo inclusion: 'They nominated me in 2023. I applied and was accepted. It was in 2022 when I was able to connect as well with The Arts Center through former NYUAD instructor Robert de Guzman.' Robert, according to Trixie Daniella, held a workshop for his research project, 'The Museum of Migration and Memory' at Bayt AlMamzar, in collaboration with the 63Kolektib: 'He reached out to us and invited us for an artist residency at the NYUAD.' On the 'Metro Diaries,' Trixie Daniella, says: 'I was trying to shape it for Numoo. I wrote 'musings of a collective moving experience' because I imagined that these are fleeting moments where you stare blankly but you are thinking deeply or you are doing and thinking so many things that you do not even pay attention to your surroundings.' Upon receipt of the 'green light from The Arts Center,' Trixie Danielle, Jomel and Juan started 'meeting at a 'café tucked inside an unassuming building in Salah Al Din where we sat for three hours or more talking about our experiences as migrants and just putting these out there to simmer.'

Dubai Metro Blue Line: Here's where the 14 new stations will be located
The Dubai Metro Blue Line is one of the most highly anticipated projects coming to Dubai. Split into two routes, one spanning 21km and the other across 9km, the Blue Line will connect the north-east of the city with the existing Dubai Metro line and make it much easier and quicker to get around. It is scheduled to be completed by 2029, to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the Dubai Metro, and will eventually reach around one million people. As Dubai continues to evolve and grow its population, new Metro lines and stations are necessary to meet the demand. The new line is expected to decrease traffic congestion by 20 percent once complete and will provide a direct connection to DXB for nine key areas.
