Snoop Dogg Says Goodbye To His Longtime Companion In Emotional Post

is saying goodbye to one of his closest companions. The 53-year-old rap legend revealed on Thursday that his cherished French Bulldog, Juelz, has passed away after spending nearly 11 years by his side. Snoop Dogg took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news, posting a touching slideshow of photos and videos featuring the tiny pup over the years. "Miss my dogg @juelzbroadus," he captioned the tribute, which instantly had fans flooding the comments with condolences. Juelz wasn't just a pet. He was family. The adorable Frenchie was a birthday gift from fellow rapper and close friend back in 2014, when Snoop turned 43. Their bond quickly became unbreakable, with Juelz joining Snoop's pack of pets and becoming a perfect complement to his other French Bulldog, Frank. In a follow-up post, the "Drop It Like It's Hot" hitmaker gave thanks to Wiz, writing, "Rip @juelzbroadus [crying emoji] thank wiz for giving him to me [red rose emoji] [dove emoji]." Fans quickly flooded Snoop's post with messages of love and support, many of them sharing their own experiences with the deep pain of losing a beloved pet. "My guy, losing a dog is worse than losing a person… I said it," one of Snoop Dogg's followers wrote, summing up the emotional weight felt by many. Another added, "I have 3 Frenchies and I dread the day God wants them home. I'm so sorry for your loss." The heartbreak was especially real for fellow Frenchie owners, with one fan commenting, "As a Frenchie mum, my heart is breaking for you," while another shared, "Losing our fur kids is losing a family member." The outpouring of compassion was a testament to just how loved Juelz was, not only by Snoop's inner circle but by fans across the globe who had grown to adore the tiny pup over the years. Over the years, Juelz earned his own fanbase, even starring on his own Instagram account where Snoop shared countless snaps of the stylish pup's day-to-day antics. Though the posts slowed in recent years, the last one appearing in June 2021, Juelz remained a beloved member of the Broadus household. Juelz is by far the only animal Snoop has had. In addition to Juelz and Frank, Snoop Dogg also owned pit bulls Lil Snoop and Mamba, as well as Siamese cats named Miles Davis and Frank Sinatra. But Juelz may have been his most well-known furry friend, thanks to his public presence and personality. Fans may recall the scare back in January 2022 when Frank, Snoop's other Frenchie, went missing. The rapper launched a full-blown social media campaign to find him, posting flyers and asking for help. Thankfully, a kind couple in Los Angeles located Frank and helped reunite him with his family just days later. "I want to thank y'all for returning the dog back to us. We appreciate that. Frank made his way back home," Snoop said in an Instagram video at the time. "We appreciate all the love and support we got on Instagram to get the dog back. And to the lovely couple that brought the dog back, I've got some gifts for y'all for looking out." Snoop Dogg's love for animals has always been front and center, and it extends far beyond his own pets. In fact, the rap legend has proudly worn the title of Coach Snoop at Puppy Bowl XVIII, where he teamed up with longtime friend to co-host the beloved annual event. Snoop took the reins as coach of Team Fluff, while Martha led Team Ruff, with both stars championing adoptable pups from shelters across the country. Now, as Snoop Dogg grieves the loss of Juelz, he's once again leaning on his fans and followers for support, and honoring a dog who brought nearly a decade of love, laughs, and loyalty. Rest in peace, Juelz.

Snoop Dogg Accepts Ultimate Icon Award At 2025 BET Awards

Dr. Dre presented Snoop Dogg with the ultimate icon award at the 2025 BET Awards on Sunday night (June 9). Dressed in an all black tux with a satin black bandana scarf, Snoop neé Calvin Broadus Jr., took the stage with his 'bosslady' wife, Shante, by his side. Fresh off a whirlwind year that included serving as a correspondent at the 2024 Paris Olympics and performing at Donald Trump's Inaugural Ball, he opened his speech with heartfelt praise for fellow honorees Mariah Carey, Kirk Franklin, and Jamie Foxx. He also extended gratitude to BET, his team, and his family, while thanking his brethren in music: Dr. Dre, Warren G, Korrupt, and the late singer Nate Dogg. Snoop even shouted out his Death Row family, including those 'from the beginning.' Taking a moment to admire Shante, his wife of 28 years, he said, 'This is why I'm so rock solid. This is why I'm able to deal with all the things I'm able to deal with — when I've got God in my life and I've got a queen in my life. She's always been my everything.' Snoop also praised his children and 10 grandchildren, calling them his 'greatest inspiration.' Further into his speech, the 53-year-old left the audience with a heartfelt message about what Hip-Hop has meant to him. 'Hip-hop, it gave me a voice. It gave me a purpose,' he said. 'It gave me a way out and a way in … Being an icon, it ain't about fame. It's about legacy. It's about what you build, what you leave behind, and who you lift up along the way.' Following a brief commercial break, Snoop Dogg cemented his Ultimate Icon status with a high-energy medley including his biggest hits like 'Unsung Heroes,' 'Drop It Like It's Hot,' 'Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang,' and others. Closing out his set, he brought out Charlie Wilson, who joined him for 'Beautiful' before turning the room into a cookout with The Gap Band's 'Outstanding.' Warren G and Kurupt also joined Snoop for 'Ain't No Fun (If the Homies Can't Have None).' Check out Snoop Dogg's acceptance speech and iconic performance above. You've read that right — the mega-viral Kabin Crew now have their dance immortalised in Fortnite. For the uninitiated, Fortnite's 'emotes' can be bought in the popular battle royale game's store for V-bucks (which can be purchased using real money) which can then be used in game as you blast at your enemies and dance after getting your Victory Royale. While dances to songs such as Sabrina Carpenter's Please, Please, Please and Drop It Like It's Hot by Snoop Dogg, Kabin Crew and the Lisdoonvarna Crew have had their dance immortalised in the game. Pic: The Kabin Studio For just 500 V-Bucks (which is about €4.50 in real money), your Fortnite skin — be it Sabrina Carpenter, Travis Scott or Michael Myers from the Halloween movies — can now do an energetic dance that the kids made famous, complete with the backing track of the actual song. The drum and bass rap song went massively viral after the Kabin Crew and Lisdoonvarna Crew last summer, when it was released as part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2024 — the national day of free creativity for children. The song went viral worldwide, gaining over two billion views on social media, over 50million streams on Spotify, and even being longlisted for a Grammy. @extradotie No, your eyes do not deceive you – that is Sabrina Carpenter dancing to The Spark by Cork kids Kabin Crew and Lisdoonvarna Crew. The song and dance has appeared in Fortnite as an 'emote' meaning players can do the dance in game. #kabincrew #thespark #fortnite ♬ original sound – Extradotie The song also won the Choice Music Prize for Irish Song of the Year, beating out a massively competitive category with songs from artists such as CMAT, Fontaines DC and Cian Ducrot, with the public vote going to the kids. The Kabin Studio, a non-profit youth music space in Knocknaheeny, on the northside of Cork City, is made up of a crew of songwriters, rappers, musicians, creatives, volunteers and participants of all ages. 'The Kabin has grown out of a love for hip hop, songwriting, performance and building confidence within young people,' says creative director Garry McCarthy. Fortnite's emotes can have players dancing in the game, with The Spark being the latest addition to the item shop. 'The Spark' has scored praise from the likes of Stormzy, Becky Hill, and Tove Lo since its release – while The Needle Drop's Anthony Fantano crowned it the 'banger of the year.' 'We hope that the success of this will help to secure the Kabin Studio's future, support the wider group of young people that we work with and allow us to deliver more outreach projects for kids with fewer opportunities,' Garry remarks.
