In previous years, it was a three-day event that offered fireworks, live music, food, a beer tent and a parade. This year it runs from Thursday, June 26, through Sunday, June 29.
The celebration will still include all former activities, but the village decided to put effort into making it more family-friendly and to expand the event overall.
The festival is also the start of 4th of July celebrations in the area, Recreation Director for the Village of Hartland, Sam Blonien, said.
"It brings everybody together," Blonien said. "It's a kickoff to the 4th of July, but it's also a celebration of Hartland. It's crucial to be able to provide that and just have a good time."
