Sam Bird is NEOM McLaren teammate Taylor Barnard's biggest cheerleader, says 'It's been great to see Taylor do such an incredible job'
Image credit: Formula E Formula E drivers Sam Bird and Taylar Barnard have a massive 17 year age difference between them but the NEOM McLaren drivers are as close as brothers. While Sam Bird is more experienced, Barnard is the one excelling in his rookie season this year. Barnard was a reserve driver for NEOM McLaren last season and made his Formula E debut while filling in for an injured Bird at the Monaco-E-Prix. This year, he joined Bird as a co-driver and their bromance is for all to see. It was shared with the caption: 'What a season it's been for @taylorbarnard1! @sambird_official names it one of his favourite moments so far.' The video showed Bird talking about Barnard's top notch performance in the 2025 Formula E season and calling it one of his favourite moments. He says in the video, 'My favourite moment of the season so far? Oh gosh. It's been great to see Taylor Barnard do such an incredible job. He's been the outstanding driver of the year so far. You know for a rookie it's been awesome. So I'd probably say those two things.' The Instagram handle of Neom McLaren Formula E dropped a comment on the video: 'True definition of team mates.' Formula E once also shared a video of Bird and Barnard's bonding along with the caption: 'These two, the best bromance on the grid!' The video showed how Bird tried to play a prank on Barnard but the 21--year-old was too alert to not let Bird find any success in his plans. Among many of his plans, he asks Barnard to smell the cake with a plan to smash it on his face but the latter says, 'No I am good.' Fans loved their bromance and cheered for them in the comments section. A fan reacted, 'Sam like the protected big brother, this is the broamance we never knew we needed.' Another said, 'Taylor looking at Sam then laughs out of nowhere is soo me.' One more said, 'Your honor, I'm guilty, I love them so much.' A fan called them the 'Best duo on the grid.' Another called them 'Uncle sam and lil Tay'. Max Verstappen's girlfriend Kelly Piquet says she breathes motorsport: 'I've started a family with an F1 driver'
Max Verstappen is now a father to a baby girl. The Red Bull driver and girlfriend Kelly Piquet welcomed a baby girl in May and named her Lily. For the first time, Piquet has now spoken about the birth of their little one, who was born during the Miami Grand Prix. Kelly is a model and the daughter of Brazilian racing driver and three-time Formula One World Champion Nelson Piquet. Talking about being related to racing drivers, she said, "I breathe motorsport. It's something that comes naturally to me. And in the end, I've started a family with an F1 driver. Well, not married yet, but we've started a family.' On dating Max Verstappen, who is also a racer like her father, Kelly said, "It wasn't planned on purpose. I've had several relationships with men who weren't in that field, but it was just meant to be." Kelly also has a five-year-old daughter, Penelope, from her earlier relationship with Russian Formula One driver Daniil Kvyat. She has been in a relationship with Verstappen since 2020 and has now started a family with the birth of Lily. Verstappen had earlier shut down doubts about him slowing down as a racer. He told the media after the Miami race, 'Clearly, it didn't make me slower being a dad, so that's a positive. So we can throw that out of the window as well, for people mentioning it. Oliver Rowland opens up about Shanghai E-Prix, gears up for Jakarta race

However, the Nissan driver couldn't get a podium in Shanghai but had a decent showing in one of the races. He has now shared a post after getting ten points in one race and nothing in the other. Oliver Rowland on Shanghai E-Prix Oliver Rowland finished in fifth position with ten points in Race 1 of the Shanghai E-Prix. He finished 13th in the second race. He currently stands on top of the Driver Standings with 171 points. Sharing a bunch of pictures from the Shanghai E-Prix on Instagram, Oliver Rowland wrote, 'Not my best weekend. Struggled from the off but managed to bring home some decent points on Saturday. Full focus on Jakarta!' Rowland's fans came out in support of him in the comments section. A fan wrote, 'You'll be back stronger in Jakarta!! Still some good points on Saturday so well done!' Another said, 'You'll be back at the front at the next one, still got important championship points at the last event. Good luck with the rest of the championship.' Oliver Rowland's performance in 2025 Oliver Rowland still remains uncatchable on the track with four wins this season, including the latest one at the Tokyo E-Prix. He also won in Mexico, Jeddah, and Monaco this year. Besides the four wins, he got second podiums in one of the races at the Jeddah double-header, Tokyo double-header, and Monaco double-header. Rowland recently told Formula E in Tokyo, "My mentality now is to keep attacking, to not really change anything. I'm not going to become conservative, because I've seen many sports over the years, and how pressure, thinking about these things or trying to engineer them too much can actually be a downfall. I'm going to go out there and race just as I have been from the beginning of the season, and hopefully we can keep the results up. My current goal is to extend to the point where it makes things quite easy at the end [of the season]."
