Nepal, Sri Lanka thank India for evacuating their nationals from Iran

New Delhi, June 21 (UNI) Nepal and Sri Lanka today thanked India for evacuating their nationals from Iran, amid the escalating Iran-Israel conflict. Nepalese Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba expressed gratitude in a post on X: 'Thank you @DrSJaishankar for India's swift assistance in helping to evacuate Nepali nationals from Iran. 'India's support in Nepal's evacuation efforts is a reflection of strength of Nepal- India ties.' The Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry in a post also expressed its thanks. 'Sri Lanka extends its sincere gratitude to the Government of India for the timely assistance to evacuate Sri Lankan nationals from Iran alongside Indian citizens. 'This act of solidarity exemplifies the strong and enduring partnership between Sri Lanka and India, and is deeply appreciated by the people of Sri Lanka.' Earlier in the day, the Indian Embassy in Tehran said it will help in the evacuation of Nepali and Sri Lankan nationals from Iran, after the Nepalese and Sri Lankan governments approached India for help. On Saturday evening, an evacuation flight from Iran arrived in New Delhi, with 310 Indian nationals on board, taking the number of Indians evacuated to 827 so far, under Operation Sindhu. New Delhi [India], June 21 (ANI): Australian High Commissioner to India, Philip Green OAM, stated that the Australian High Commission celebrated International Day of Yoga by involving puppies in the yoga session. He stressed that this yoga session reminded them that 'wellness works best with a wag and a smile.' The video shared by Green showed people showering love on the puppies while performing yoga on the occasion of International Day of Yoga. While sharing the video of the yoga session on X, Philip Green stated, 'In the land that gifted the world #yoga, we decided to bring a little paw-sitivity to our practice! This #InternationalYogaDay, we rolled out our mats for a wholesome #puppy #yoga session with some furry friends. It reminded us: wellness works best with a wag & a smile.' Earlier in the day, Philip Green OAM performed yoga during the International Day of Yoga event led by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in Delhi's Nehru Park. Every year, the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) is celebrated on June 21. This year marks the 11th International Day of Yoga with the theme 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health', which echoes a vital truth that personal wellness and planetary health are inseparably linked. According to a United Nations statement, yoga strengthens the body, calms the mind, and fosters a heightened sense of awareness and responsibility in daily life. This mindfulness allows one to choose healthier and more sustainable lifestyles. In 2014, the United Nations declared June 21 as the International Day of Yoga by resolution 69/131. The draft resolution establishing the International Day of Yoga was proposed by India and endorsed by a record 175 member states. New Delhi, June 21 (UNI) The first batch of Kailash Mansarovar Yatris performed yoga today to mark International Day of Yoga in Bainang County in Tibet, while enroute on the pilgrimage. The MEA spokesperson said in a post on X: 'Yoga for health, peace and harmony. 'The first batch of 'Kailash Manasarovar Yatra' Yatris via Nathu La route, performed Yoga to mark the #InternationalDayofYoga2025 in Bainang County in Tibet Autonomous Region, while on their way to perform the holy Yatra.' Notably, the first batch of pilgrims for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 left on June 13. Less food and water to survive. I am here on a mission to hold a banner to congratulate our armed forces for Operation Sindoor. Only God can help us." He began his journey on June 4 from Chennai, reaching the US on June 6, and commenced his climb on June 10 after a video call with his parents. Accompanied by a fellow climber from Tamil Nadu, Khan has previously scaled several peaks across continents, including Mount Everest in 2022. The alarming message has raised concern among Indian leaders as well. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Kerala BJP state president, said on social media that he had alerted External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and the Indian Embassy in Washington to assist Khan and his team. 'I hv alerted @DrSJaishankar and his team. I am also tagging Indian Embassy in Washington DC @IndianEmbassyUS to please help Stay Safe," Chandrasekhar wrote on a post on X. Antony said that Khan belongs to his parliamentary constituency and requested immediate intervention by Indian authorities in the US to ensure the mountaineer's rescue. He noted the severe storm and shortage of food and water as critical issues. 'I request you to kindly give urgent direction to our mission in US to intervene in this matter and do all the possible assistance to help Khan," Antony said in his letter.
