Meghalaya honeymoon murder: Haunting May 23 video from double decker trek captures Raja Raghuvanshi's killers; one tries to hide face

INDORE: A new video footage shared by a tourist has become a pivotal turning point in the investigation into the murder case of Raja Raghuvanshi, offering fresh visual evidence of his final known movements alongside his wife Sonam and the three men now accused of killing him. Recorded on May 23 — the same day Raja was reported missing and is believed to have been murdered in Shillong — the videos captured by a tourist and a YouTuber on Meghalaya's popular Double Decker trek are now being treated as crucial pieces of evidence by police. New video surfaces in Raja Raghuvanshi murder case One of the videos, filmed by Devendra Singh from Haryana descending the steps at Nongriat village, captures Raja and Sonam making their way up. Raja can be seen carrying a small bag, while Sonam walks slightly behind him, with a bag slung over her shoulder and holding a plastic bag in hand. In the video, Sonam appears to glare directly at the camera, suggesting she noticed she was being filmed. Stills from this clip have since circulated widely on social media and are being treated as significant by investigators. Another video has added further evidence to the case. Singh was also on the 'Double Decker' trekking route when he filmed three men identified as the accused: Vishal, Akash, and Anand. The video shows the trio walking uphill, with the person at the rear trying to hide his face upon seeing the camera. Police have analysed both videos and confirmed that the accused were ahead of Raja and Sonam on the same trail, and all were present on May 23 — the day Raja and Sonam were reported missing. Raja's body was later recovered on June 2. Authorities now believe he was murdered on the same day the videos were recorded. Investigators have included both video clips as crucial evidence in the case, as they help establish the sequence of events and confirm the presence of both the victim and the suspects at the scene.

ECoR writes to SCR proposing augmentation of AC Sleeper coaches on Double Decker express from Vizag to Tirupati

East Coast Railway (ECoR) has sent a proposal to the South Central Railway (SCR) for augmentation of additional AC coaches by train No. 22708/08 (Visakhapatnam-Tirupati-Visakhapatnam) Double Decker express. In a letter to the Chief Traffic Planning Manager of SCR the Chief Commercial Manager of ECoR noted that 22707/08, which is owned by SCR, is running during night time with occupancy of 122.24% from Visakhapatnam, and 114.25% from Tirupati. The train is departing from Visakhapatnam at 11 p.m. and reaching Tirupati at 12.30 p.m. In the return direction, it is leaving Tirupati at 9.50 p.m. and arriving in Visakhapatnam at 10.40 a.m. Presently, only two trains 18521/22 Tirumala daily express and 22707/08 Tri-Weekly Double Decker express are running directly from Visakhapatnam to Tirupati. Most of the passengers are travelling to Tirupati for darshan of Lord Balaji. The composition of 22707/08 is 10 coaches, including two LWLRRM (Luggage, Generator and Brake Van) coaches and eight LWSCZDAC (Chair Car) coaches. The daily average number of passengers boarding this train is 1,170 from Visakhapatnam, and 1,096 from Tirupati for the period April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025. Acting on a letter written by ZRUCC Member K. Eswar, the ECoR official wrote to the SCR CPTM that passengers like senior citizens, Divyangjan, patients, pregnant women and families with children are utilising this train. They are facing lot of difficulties due to lack of AC Sleeper coaches. As this train is running during night time, passengers expect facilities that allow them to rest properly. The existing composition of Double Decker train does not meet passenger needs, resulting in discomfort to them. The ECoR CCM proposed augmentation of AC coaches, i.e., 2 A, 3 A and 3 E class coaches either temporarily or permanently on train no. 22707/08 Tri-Weekly Double Decker Express.

Influencer sparks 'stratospheric' national demand for new chocolate bars

THE owner of a much-loved Carlisle chocolate shop has thanked his 'fantastic' local support after a decadent new range of chocolate bars grabbed national attention. Chocolatier Keith Tattersall, founder of Castle Chocolates on Fisher Street, has promised local customers they remain his 'number one priority' as online sales of his new range of deep-filled bars went 'into the stratosphere'. All of Castle Chocolates' products are handmade on the Fisher Street premises. Varieties of the deep-filled bars, which retail at £6.95, are Caramel Shortbread, Dubai, Biscoff, Double Decker, and Hazelnut. A Cookies and Cream version hasn't been made since week one, said Keith, due to difficulties sourcing some ingredients. Since launching the range of bars around five weeks ago, online stock has been selling out often within minutes of its twice-weekly online release (4pm Tuesdays and Thursdays), and Keith said he and his team are working 'round the clock' to keep up with soaring demand. "The locals supported us from day one", said Keith. "So we want to do the same in a situation like this where everyone nationally wants the bars, we've got to prioritise having that stock in store." Keith said orders are coming in from every corner of the UK since the bars were championed in a video released on the Northern Nic's Back Kitchen social media channel, which has over 200,000 Facebook followers. "She's doing wonders for promoting local businesses and getting them national recognition, as we have so many amazing artisan producers here in Cumbria", Keith said. "I'm just one of them and she's been helping all of us out. "We've got a great following, and hopefully a great product, which a lot of people have tried and passed on the word locally. He also gave 'huge thanks' to his staff who have 'really pulled their weight, doing extra hours and helping out wherever they can'. Asked whether he had any other creations in the pipeline, Keith said: "We had ideas to bring out other flavours, maybe a dark chocolate filled bar, but at the moment, we're just trying to get on top of current demand."
