Mötley Crüe recruit Dolly Parton for new version of Home Sweet Home The rock legends have joined forces with none other than country music icon Dolly on a 40th anniversary version of the power ballad originally released on the 1985 album Theatre of Pain, and again in 1991 for the Decade of Decadence 81-91 compilation album. The rock legends have joined forces with none other than country music icon Dolly on a 40th anniversary version of the power ballad originally released on the 1985 album Theatre of Pain, and again in 1991 for the Decade of Decadence 81-91 compilation album. Another country star, Carrie Underwood, released a cover of Home Sweet Home in 2009. A portion of the proceeds from the single will benefit Covenant House, a non-profit providing safe shelter, meals, hope and more to help youth experiencing homelessness. A new music video will also drop at 5pm BST. The song is part of the From The Beginning singles collection set for release on September 12, 2025, the same day the Crüe will kick off their 10-show residency at Las Vegas' Dolby Live at Park MGM. For an icon like Dolly Parton to sing on a song that has not only meant so much to us but to all the fans through the years, is a career high that means a lot to us. We couldn't be happier to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Home Sweet Home in this special way, and we're excited to share this version of the song with all the Dolly and Mötley fans around the world." On the special cause, they added: "That we were able to unite with Dolly to raise awareness for homeless youth and the amazing work of Covenant House, which provides them safe housing and care, makes it even more special. The Beatles' 'Blackbird' was originally written in response to the Little Rock Nine, a group of Black students who faced violent resistance while integrating an Arkansas high school in 1957. McCartney has said the song was written as a message of hope and encouragement to Black women facing injustice. McCartney, whose original master recording is used in Beyoncé's version, according to Variety, also revealed that he had the chance to speak with the pop icon about her take on 'Blackbird.' 'I spoke to her on FaceTime and she thanked me for writing it and letting her do it,' wrote McCartney, who attended Beyoncé's record-breaking Renaissance World Tour last year. 'I told her the pleasure was all mine and I thought she had done a killer version of the song. When I saw the footage on the television in the early 60s of the black girls being turned away from school, I found it shocking and I can't believe that still in these days there are places where this kind of thing is happening right now. Anything my song and Beyoncé's fabulous version can do to ease racial tension would be a great thing and makes me very proud.' Released in March 2024, Cowboy Carter debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and made Beyoncé the first Black woman to top the Top Country Albums chart. Fans are all saying the same thing after Tom Cruise finally gets his Oscar
Tom Cruise is finally set to receive an honorary Oscar after a string of nominations, leaving fans equally delighted and baffled. It has been announced that the stunt-loving actor, who stole the show in Top Gun, the Mission: Impossible franchise, Tropic Thunder, the Firm and so many more, is getting a coveted trophy alongside Dolly Parton, Debbie Allen and Wynn Thomas. The 62-year-old has been nominated for performances in Born on the Fourth of July, Magnolia and Rain Man, but has never taken the statue home. He will now be honored at the upcoming Governors Awards in November, alongside his fellow honorees – who are getting the Oscars 'to honor extraordinary distinction in lifetime achievement, exceptional contributions to the state of motion picture arts and sciences in any discipline, or for outstanding service to the Academy'. Academy president Janet Yang hailed the stars as 'legendary individuals' who have made a 'lasting impact' in a statement. 'The Academy's Board of Governors is honored to recognize these brilliant artists,' it read. 'Debbie Allen is a trailblazing choreographer and actor, whose work has captivated generations and crossed genres. 'Tom Cruise's incredible commitment to our filmmaking community, to the theatrical experience, and to the stunts community has inspired us all.
