I don't want to play a 50-year-old: Gaurav M Sharma on exiting Jhanak

Gaurav M Sharma Gaurav M Sharma joined Jhanak just a month ago, but his role has ended owing to the time leap that the show has just taken. While he is understandably disappointed, he is clear that he doesn't want to play an older character. 'Jhanak has taken a 20- year leap and I wouldn't want to play a 50-year-old guy. I quit Anupamaa earlier for the same reason,' he says. The actor shares that he has consistently tried to avoid being typecast, yet he's often offered grey or negative characters. He says, 'After I played the antagonist in Diya Aur Baati Hum, makers thought of me for similar roles. I wanted to break that stereotype and hence took a break. After a short hiatus, I acted in OTT shows, but later realised how TV is a mass medium and lucrative. Today, I am glad that I am offered different kinds of roles. ' He adds, 'I'm not limiting myself to just TV. I want to do more OTT and films, but TV is a great mass medium, and it helps me survive.' Currently, the show has taken a leap and Arjit Taneja and Riya Sharma are playing the lead roles. The current track focusses on how Jhanak's daughter is now 18 years old and they both live in the same village. In Kolkata, Arshi's daughter has grown up and she works as a teacher in college. Arjit Taneja plays a police inspector and he is posted in the same village where Jhanak lives with her daughter. Enjoy The New Hindi Music Video For Humnava By Gaurav Sharma And Kriti Sharma

Great to do a Gujarati film after so many years in showbiz: Helly Shah

Helly Shah Helly Shah , who made her D-Town debut with Surprise recently, says that she is 'really happy to have finally done a film in my mother tongue.' The popular TV actress, who has done shows like Diya Aur Baati Hum, Laal Ishq and Sufiyana Pyaar Mera, was in Ahmedabad recently. Helly, who made her OTT debut with Gullak 4 last year, adds, 'I was telling Vatsal (Sheth, her co-actor in Surprise) that it's wonderful to have finally done a Gujarati film after so many years in showbiz. I guess there is a right time for everything; der aaye durust aaye. Vatsal is a gem of a person and working with him was really easy.' She adds, 'During the promotional activities of my debut film, I visited Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad. It was great fun because my extended family stays in Ahmedabad. I am a big foodie and love the local delicacies in every city. In Rajkot, I had bhakri with butter and it was mouth-watering.' 'This is an exciting phase for Gujarati cinema ' Helly feels 'this is an exciting phase for Gujarati cinema.' She adds, 'I immediately said yes to Surprise because I found the story intriguing. It was not your typical suspense thriller and playing a thief on screen was great fun. Gujarati cinema is coming up with very good content now, and the production value is excellent too. I like the vision that the makers have for the industry.' She adds, 'I have completed shooting for another Gujarati film, Deda, which may release later this year. It is an emotionally enriching story that is completely different from what I have done in my debut film. I am also in talks for another Gujarati film. My mom and I love enjoying Gujarati films together. We have loved films like Kutch Express, Hellaro, Dear Father, Vash and Chhello Divas . I feel this is a great time for me to enter the industry.' 'Doing comedy for the first time was challenging but fun' Helly, who took a break from TV after Ishq Mein Marjawan 2 (2021), recently made her small screen comeback with Zyada Mat Udd. She says, 'I always wanted to do a sitcom and it's not often that you see a TV show based on the aviation industry. Also, I had never done a comedy before. While it was challenging, I had great fun because I got to work with some terrific co-actors. It's very different from typical saas-bahu serials. ' She adds, 'There are people who have told me that the show has not done as well as we had expected. However, we feel we should be proud because we tried something different. Times are changing and I hope shows that try something new are accepted. I have a couple of interesting OTT projects lined up this year, and I am very excited about them.' Asked about whether TV is exploring new concepts often enough, she shares, 'It's not happening regularly. Saal-do saal mein aisa ek show aata hai, which is completely out of the box. Sometimes, a good show is not appreciated enough when it is released and the audience appreciates its true worth after a few years, like it happened in the case of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. I want to see more experimentation on TV. It would be great if makers take more risks.' Check out our list of the latest Hindi , English , Tamil , Telugu , Malayalam , and Kannada movies . Exclusive - Aadesh Chaudhary embraces the digital shift: OTT platforms let me explore as an actor

Aadesh Chaudhary, a familiar face in Indian television, has been winning hearts for years with his nuanced performances and grounded on-screen persona. From portraying sensitive leads to intense supporting characters, Aadesh has carved a niche for himself in the television industry through a string of memorable roles in popular serials like Laagi Tujhse Lagan, Sasural Simar Ka, Yeh Dil Sun Raha Hai, and Diya Aur Baati Hum. Each of these shows not only cemented his standing as a dependable actor but also showcased his ability to bring emotional authenticity to every role. The actor describes his shift to digital as both organic and deeply aspirational. 'I have done a lot of television, and when the OTT boom happened, I really wished to see myself on big OTT platforms,' he shares. 'So I thought, why not try something new and challenging in the OTT world?' True to his words, Aadesh has already begun making his mark in the digital space. His roles in web projects such as Sabse Bada Rupaiya, Chitta Ve, The H Files, and Bhram have shown a refreshing versatility, allowing him to shed the constraints of conventional television tropes and explore characters with greater psychological depth and narrative complexity. Each performance brings a new shade of his craft to the fore, and he credits this shift for invigorating his artistic spirit. 'The experience has been really good,' Aadesh reflects. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trending in in 2025: Local network access control [Click Here] Esseps Learn More Undo 'Unlike daily soaps where there are time constraints and you shoot multiple scenes in a day, web series give you the space to breathe and build your character scene by scene. That kind of preparation is a luxury—and a gift—for an actor.' He continues, 'OTT platforms have opened a whole new world for performers like me. They offer creative satisfaction. You're not boxed into doing the same thing repeatedly. You get the freedom to experiment, to explore different genres, and to take risks that television rarely allows. I've grown as an actor because of this change.' Indeed, for Aadesh, this transition is more than just a career move—it's a creative rebirth. At a time when many actors struggle to stay relevant amid rapid shifts in the industry, he has embraced change with grace and curiosity. 'Unpredictability is a part of this industry,' he acknowledges. 'I've learned to accept that and move forward with an open mind. I take one day at a time, and I try to remain grounded. At the end of the day, what matters most is happiness and creative fulfillment. That's what I'm chasing now.' Even when he's not on set, Aadesh stays connected to his craft. 'I keep watching films, working on monologues, and doing acting exercises. It helps me stay sharp, stay ready. As an actor, you have to keep feeding your passion.' While his current focus is the digital realm, Aadesh hasn't ruled out a return to the small screen. 'I'm absolutely open to television,' he says with sincerity. 'If the role is strong and the story excites me, I won't hesitate. For me, it's not about the medium—it's about the work. Whether it's a web series, a film, or a TV show, if my heart is in it, I'm all in.' Rubina Dilaik stuns in red dress at laughter chefs season 2 shoot
