Miley Cyrus claims she was once blamed for dad's Hannah Montana drug use
Miley Cyrus has claimed her dad Billy Ray Cyrus used to 'smoke pot' on the set of Hannah Montana – and she got the blame. The 32-year-old singer, who shot to fame playing a teenage school girl with a secret life as a pop star on the Disney Channel sitcom between 2006 and 2011, admitted the awkward moment was her most 'hilarious' memory from the series. During an appearance on her mother Tish Cyrus and sister Brandi Cyrus' Sorry We're Cyrus podcast, Miley was asked to share her funniest memory from the show. 'Dad smoking pot and everyone blaming me for it. It's hilarious,' she recalled. 'He wasn't sharing 'cause Tish wasn't toking yet.' Her mother laughed as she remembered the incident, and joked she tried to defend her then-husband – who she divorced in 2023 – while putting the blame on Miley's co-star Mitchel Musso. 'They were calling me, saying B-Ray was smoking pot, and I was saying: ''Absolutely not, he would never do that. It's Mitchel Musso,'' she quipped. Miley replied: 'Well, it was Mitchel. It was Mitchel Musso! It was both.' However, Mitchel – who played Miley's friend Oliver on the show – had different memories of the incident. 'Well, that's not how I remember it,' the 33-year-old former child star said in a statement to E! News. 'However, I've got plenty of stories from those years that might be worth having a conversation about. 'If we're revisiting Hannah Montana history – just say the word. All love to Miley and the fam … even when the rewrites get this creative.' Elsewhere during the chat with her mum and sister, Miley also revealed a recent incident in which her mother seemingly unfollowed her on Instagram after the singer went to see Billy Ray, 63. More Trending This sparked rumours of another family feud – but the singer has revealed it was actually just a 'bug' in the platform. 'If you were in the family or not in the family, it was weird timing. I went to see B-Ray, and you did mysteriously unfollow me – and then you got some backlash and suddenly knew how to press that follow button,' she joked. 'The truth is boring. There's a bug in Meta, it naturally unfollows the person that you follow with the most engagement … I was either, like: 'Mom lost her glasses and can't see,' which is what I thought happened. Then, there was actually a bug in Meta.' View More » Metro has contacted Billy Ray Cyrus' reps for comment. Got a story? Sabrina Carpenter addresses 'Man's Best Friend' album art backlash
The Grammy-winning singer debuted the album art last week for the Aug 29 release of 'Man's Best Friend'. Photo: Handout Sabrina Carpenter is breaking her silence on her controversial new album cover that has displeased some fans. The Grammy-winning Espresso crooner, 26, debuted the album art last week for the Aug 29 release of Man's Best Friend, which shows the Disney Channel alum on her knees in a short black dress and matching stilettos as a man pulls her signature blonde tresses. Her post is restricted on Instagram for users 18 and over. 'Does she have a personality out side of sex?' asked one disgruntled X user. 'Girl yes and it is goooooood,' responded the Please, Please, Please singer, whose tongue-in-cheek lyrics and Short n' Sweet tour often delve into the sexually explicit. Those on X weren't alone in criticising the art, which Glasgow Women's Aid decried as 'regressive' and less 'subversion' than promoting 'tired stereotypes of women.' The day after making the album art public, fashion photographer David LaChapelle's nude portrait of Carpenter made waves as the cover of Rolling Stone's Summer Double Issue. 'It's always so funny to me when people complain,' Carpenter told the magazine. 'They're like, 'All she does is sing about this.' But those are the songs that you've made popular. Clearly you love sex. You're obsessed with it.' Though the show is full of innuendo and sexually charged choreography, Carpenter said there are also 'ballads' and 'the more introspective numbers. 'I find irony and humour in all of that. … I'm not upset about it, other than I feel mad pressure to be funny sometimes,' she continued, adding later that she feels 'like I've never lived in a time where women have been picked apart more, and scrutinised in every capacity'. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service

Former Disney Channel child star branded as 'unrecognizable' after shocking transformation
She was once known as the brainy Olive Doyle on Disney Channel's A.N.T. Farm, but Sierra McCormick looks completely unrecognizable today. Now 27, the former child star has undergone a jaw-dropping transformation, swapping her squeaky-clean Disney image for a bold, edgy look that's left fans doing a double take. Sierra, who rose to fame in the early 2010s with her breakout role on A.N.T. Farm, has since pivoted to more serious parts. She has been in indie films like The Vast of Night, the psychological horror We Need to Do Something, and popular TV show American Horror Story. With her career shift has come a striking new image. The actress no longer sports her long blonde locks and the colorful wardrobe that she once did on A.N.T. Farm. Now, in its place is a modern red bob, dramatic eye makeup, and a more mature fashion sense that's a far cry from her Disney roots. Fans were stunned when recent photos of the actress began circulating online, with many admitting they barely recognized her. Farm, has since pivoted to more serious parts In 2022, the actress shared pictures of her younger self and herself 'cringe' and 'insufferable.' However, some people in the comments didn't agree with her critiques. 'You were such a cute kid,' someone wrote. Others were shocked to see the old pictures and started to connect the dots on who the actress was. 'Is this the girl from A.N.T. Farm or am I crazy?' someone questioned. 'Oh my god, [I] didn't realize who you were at first you look so different! But so gorgeous,' another person commented. 'OLIVE?' multiple users wondered, referring to her character's name. Is ‘The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder' returning for season 3? Everything we know so far
By Aman Shukla Published on June 19, 2025, 20:15 IST Last updated June 19, 2025, 20:02 IST The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder has captured hearts with its vibrant revival of the beloved Disney Channel series. Fans are buzzing with excitement, wondering if Penny Proud and her family will return for a third season. Below, we dive into everything we know about The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder Season 3, including its renewal status, potential release date and more. Is The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder Season 3 Confirmed? Yes, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder Season 3 is officially happening! Disney+ announced the renewal on June 13, 2023, during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. This news thrilled fans, as the revival has already surpassed the original series in seasons, marking a significant milestone for the show. Production reportedly began recently, signaling that the series is moving forward steadily. When Will The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder Season 3 Release? While Disney has not confirmed an exact release date, speculation points to a potential premiere in late 2025 or early 2026. The first season debuted in February 2022, followed by the second in February 2023, suggesting a pattern of annual releases. However, a now-deleted Instagram post by co-creator Bruce W. Smith in March 2024 hinted that Season 3 could arrive 'real soon,' though no specific timeline was provided. Some sources estimate a February 2024 release, but this seems unlikely given the recent start of production. A late 2025 release aligns better with typical animation production schedules. What Will the Plot of Season 3 Be About? Details about Season 3's storyline are scarce, but a preview at the 2024 Annecy Festival revealed that the season will kick off with a two-part premiere set in Paris. Penny and her best friend Dijonay Jones join Oscar and Trudy on a vacation, only for the parents to be abducted by a secret agent. This leads to a Mission: Impossible -style rescue mission, promising high-stakes adventure and humor. The season will likely continue exploring Penny's teenage challenges, family dynamics, and cultural themes like self-worth and identity, as seen in previous seasons. The show's setting in Emilyville (formerly Smithville, renamed after Season 2's 'Juneteenth' episode) will provide fresh backdrops for the Prouds' antics.
