The new vivo T4 Ultra packs a 3x periscope and Dimensity 9300+ chipset

vivo is adding an Ultra member to the T4 series – what does this phone have to earn this moniker? Well, a telephoto camera for one (the first telemacro in the segment, vivo says) and a surprisingly high-end chipset. vivo T4 Ultra The vivo T4 Ultra is powered by the Dimensity 9300+, which was used in the likes of last year's vivo X100s Pro – one of the top phones from vivo in 2024. The T4 Ultra doesn't have X100s-class cameras, but it certainly has its siblings beat – the T4x from March is powered by a Dimensity 7300 and the T4 from April has a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. Both feature 50MP main cameras with small sensors (and OIS on the T4) plus 2MP helper cameras. The Ultra packs a 50MP Sony IMX921-based main camera (a 1/1.56' sensor seen in the X200s among others). This is behind an f/1.88 lens with OIS. The star of the show is the 50MP periscope with 3x magnification (f/2.55 lens with OIS) and an IMX882 sensor (1/1.95'). This has a 10x telephoto macro mode and OIS+EIS stabilization for video. Finally, there is an 8MP ultra-wide camera and an Aura Light. The selfie camera is a 32MP unit (f/2.45). The T4 Ultra has the smallest display in the series with a 6.67' diagonal, but it's the best panel yet – a quad-curved 1260p+ OLED with 10-bit colors and 120Hz refresh rate. It can reach up to 5,000 nits peak local brightness, peak global brightness is 1,600 nits. There is an under-display fingerprint reader of the optical variety. The T4 features a massive 7,300mAh battery, the T4x is a step down at 6,500mAh on the T4. The Ultra has the smallest battery in the family with only 5,500mAh capacity. Well, 'only'. That is paired with fast 90W charging, but the same is true of the T4 too. On the plus side, the Ultra is thinner and lighter at 7.43mm and 192g (193g for the Phoenix Gold variant), compared to 8.1mm and 204g on the T4x. And the Ultra has a heavier glass back too, not plastic. However, ingress protection is still middle of the road with an IP64 rating. The Ultra is available in three configurations: 8/256GB, 12/256GB and 12/512GB. This is with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The Dimensity 9300+ is cooled by a 43.62cm² vapor chamber. The phone launches with FuntouchOS 15 (Android 15) and will receive 2 OS updates and a total of 3 years of security patches. vivo T4 Ultra in Phoenix Gold and Meteor Grey The vivo T4 Ultra is manufactured in India and will be available from vivo India, Flipkart and offline retailers. Vivo X200 FE with Dimensity 9300+ may launch in India in July, set to rival OnePlus 13s

Vivo's plans for launching a new compact flagship phone in India have been long rumored but we finally have some concrete details on what the new phone could look. A new report by Smartprix states that the new Vivo 'Mini' phone could be called the Vivo X200 FE and could launch in India in July. The X200 FE could come with a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is likely to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor, but the report states that it could also be replaced by the upcoming Dimensity 9400e chipset. As for optics, the phone could come with a triple camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX921 primary sensor, a 50MP Sony IMX882 3x telephoto sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor. On the front could be a 50MP shooter for selfies and video calls. Much like any other Vivo phone launched this year, the X200 FE could come with the latest FuntouchOS 15 based on Android 15. The report suggests that Vivo could offer three years of OS updates and three years of security patches with the new device. Despite the smaller form factor, the phone could come with a 6,500mAh battery with support for 90W fast charging while coming in a weght of just around 200 grams. The phone could also bring a few AI features like AI seasonal portraits which have remained China exclusive till now. Reportedly, the Vivo X200 FE could be available in two storage variants, one with 12GB RAM/256GB storage and other with 16GB RAM/512GB storage. The new Vivo phone is said to come in two colour options and be priced around the ₹ 50,000 - ₹ 60,000 price bracket. If this report does turn out to be true, the X200 FE could rival the upcoming compact flagship from another Chinese smartphone maker, OnePlus 13s. Leaks suggest that the OnePlus 13s could be launched in India in June and might be priced under ₹ 60,000 while being powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
