This phone is under £300 and has a bigger battery than any flagship

If you're eyeing up a new smartphone, the £1000 price that the latest handsets typically come with is somewhat off-putting. That's where mid-range or budget phones come in. But typically, they sacrifice some features to get that lower price – and battery is usually a big culprit. But this sub-£300 Motorola phone has a bigger battery than any flagship you can buy. The new Moto G86 Power flexes a battery so chunky it makes most flagships look like glorified desk toys. We're talking a 6720mAh cell under the hood – that's 53 hours of potential screen time. Read more: Best cheap phones in 2025 reviewed and rated This isn't just a big battery slapped onto a plastic shell either. Motorola's managed to wrap this battery brute in a genuinely slick package. It offers a Super HD pOLED display, HDR10+, and a pretty impressive 4500 nits of brightness. The phone's built to last, with IP68/IP69 water resistance, so you can drop it, dunk it, or drag it through dust and it won't bite the dust. Powering all this is MediaTek's Dimensity 7300 chip, paired with up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB of storage. It's not the latest processor, but it should be able to handle any app you throw at it. The camera system's no slouch either – you get a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 sensor, AI tuning, and a wide-angle/macro combo on the side. A 32MP selfie cam is thrown in for good measure. The audio game should be solid, with Dolby Atmos pumping through stereo speakers. If you're not fussed about a big battery and want slightly more conventional experience, the Moto G86 5G might be more your speed. You're still getting the premium bits – the gorgeous 6.7' Super HD pOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, the same LYTIA 600 camera, and solid durability ratings – but the battery drops down to 5200mAh. Still plenty for a day and a bit, but you'll need to plug in soon after. For those who fancy something even more accessible, the Moto G56 5G is surprisingly well-kitted for the price. It offers a slightly larger 6.72' screen (not pOLED, mind you), a sturdy frame with all the same water and drop resistance, and still a 5200mAh battery. It even throws in a business edition for enterprise folks, with three years of updates and Bass Boost. In the UK, the Moto G86 Power will set you back £300, the regular Moto G86 5G lands at £280, the Moto G56 5G goes for £200, and the business edition priced at £220. US pricing and availability is yet to be confirmed. You'll be able to get your hands on all the models soon from Amazon, EE, Curry's, and Motorola. The business edition is exclusive to Motorola.

Motorola's newest mid-range trio includes a Moto G86 Power with a ridiculously big battery

Are you looking for a nice budget 5G phone with a respectable set of specifications and a stylish design... on the old continent? Motorola has not one and not two but three very compelling new mid-range soldiers for you to consider, especially if you like an Android handset capable of delivering more than a day of battery life without breaking the bank. With a little more fanfare than a couple of days ago, the Moto G56 5G, Moto G86 5G, and Moto G86 Power 5G have gone up on multiple official Motorola websites across Europe, this time around including not just full spec sheets but also recommended prices for markets like France, Italy, Spain, and the UK. 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 2712 x 1220 pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate technology, and up to 4500 nits of brightness; 90 percent screen-to-body ratio; MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor; Android 15 ; ; 8GB RAM; 512GB internal storage space; 50MP primary rear-facing camera with Sony LYTIA 600 sensor; 8MP secondary ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture; 32MP front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and Quad Pixel technology; 6,720mAh battery; 30W TurboPower charging capabilities; Dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos; Corning Gorilla Glass 7i screen protection; On-screen fingerprint reader; IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance; MIL-STD 810H durability; 161.21 x 74.74 x 8.65mm dimensions; 198 grams weight; Pantone Spellbound, Pantone Cosmic Sky, Pantone Golden Cypress, and Pantone Chrysanthemum color options. You know how Motorola's entire mid-range product portfolio was essentially stuck at the 5,000mAh battery capacity mark for what felt like an eternity? Well, we've clearly moved past that stage... in style with the outlandish 6,720mAh cell-packing Moto G86 Power 5G. This bad boy promises to keep the lights on for a "full weekend" on a single (rapid) charge, and that's despite rocking an undeniably high-quality AMOLED panel, especially for its price. That's set at £299.99 ($405) in Great Britain, €329 ($373) in Spain, €379 ($430) in France, and €399.90 ($453) in Italy, and whichever number from that list you choose to focus on, you're likely to be swept off your feet by the G86 Power's tremendous value for your (Euro) money. Too bad US availability is almost certainly out of the question, as is the case for the "regular" G86 and the lower-end G56. 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 2712 x 1220 pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate technology, and up to 4500 nits of brightness; 90 percent screen-to-body ratio; MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor; Android 15 ; ; 8GB RAM; 256GB internal storage space; 50MP primary rear-facing camera with Sony LYTIA 600 sensor; 8MP secondary ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture; 32MP front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and Quad Pixel technology; 5,200mAh battery; 30W TurboPower charging capabilities; Dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos; Corning Gorilla Glass 7i screen protection; On-screen fingerprint reader; IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance; MIL-STD 810H durability; 161.21 x 74.74 x 7.87mm dimensions; 185 grams weight; Pantone Spellbound, Pantone Cosmic Sky, Pantone Golden Cypress, and Pantone Chrysanthemum color options. The Moto G86 5G may not carry a Power label, but that doesn't make its 5,200mAh cell a pushover, as it still guarantees a more than reasonable 41 hours of endurance between (fast) charges with the same gorgeous screen and the same respectable processor in tow as the heavier and pricier model detailed above. If you're willing to give up the chance to own the phone with Motorola's "biggest battery ever", you'll only have to pay £280 ($378) for a non-Power-branded G86 with half the 512 gigs of internal storage space in the UK, as well as €279 ($316) in Spain, and €349 ($395) in France and Italy. This is definitely yet another strong value proposition, especially when you consider the equally robust and elegant design of this relatively thin and lightweight Android mid-ranger. 6.72-inch LCD screen with 2400 x 1080 pixel resolution and 120Hz refresh rate support; 87 percent screen-to-body ratio; MediaTek Dimensity 7060 processor; Android 15 ; ; 8GB RAM; 256GB storage; 50MP primary rear-facing camera with Sony LYTIA 600 sensor; 8MP secondary ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture; 32MP front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and Quad Pixel technology; 5,200mAh battery; 30W charging support; Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos; Gorilla Glass 7i; IP68 and IP69 certifications; 165.75 x 76.26 x 8.35mm dimensions; 200 grams weight; Pantone Black Oyster, Pantone Dazzling Blue, Pantone Gray Mist, and Pantone Dill color options. Pretty low, as it turns out, at least in terms of retail pricing. The Moto G56 5G, which was essentially already an open book prior to today, costs a measly £199.99 ($270) in the UK, €249 ($282) in Spain, €269.90 ($306) in Italy, and €279 ($316) in France. Despite being significantly cheaper than its two newly unveiled "cousins", this mid-end device remarkably offers more screen real estate, just slightly less processing power, as well as plenty of battery juice, super-fast charging, excellent camera performance, and the highest level of water and dust protection available on modern smartphones. Why oh why is Motorola not more successful in the global budget-friendly smartphone space?

Tecno Pova Curve 5G is official - 7.5mm slim, 5,500mAh battery, AI for days

It's official - the Tecno Pova Curve 5G is here and it's India's slimmest (7.5mm) curved phone with a 5,500mAh battery! The curvature? It's 55°, which Tecno says makes the in-hand feel futuristic. The Tecno Pova Curve comes in three colors - Magic Silver, Neon Cyan, and Geek Black. Unlike Povas of old, we don't see any light-up LEDs on the back, sadly. Upfront sits a 6.78-inch 1080p AMOLED with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1,300 nits of peak brightness. Tecno has achieved a 93.8% screen-to-body ratio. Inside ticks a 4nm Dimensity 7300 Ultimate, paired with either 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage. The battery is 5,500mAh, as we said, and it takes 45W wired charging. Tecno says its pack has TÜV Rheinland Long Range Certification for over 1,800 charging cycles. The phone claims 50% in just 15 minutes and 100% in 45 minutes. Camera-wise, the Pova Curve 5G has a 64MP 1/1.73-inch Sony IMX682 wide-angle camera (and a 2MP depth sensor). A final word on the hardware - Tecno has focused on the connectivity of the Pova Curve, ensuring a strong signal, wherever you may find yourself. The Pova Curve 5G has a solid all-around 86.5% antenna coverage, VoWiFi Dual Pass, and real-time signal optimization. The Pova Curve 5G in Neon Cyan, Geek Black, and Magic Silver Tecno has equipped the Pova Curve 5G with Ella AI and claims it's the segment's first AI with Indian language support. Users get AI Voiceprint Suppression - aka voice calls noise reduction - AI Auto Call Answering, AI Call Assistant with live translations and post-call summaries (including WhatsApp calls), and No Network Communication for connectivity in low or no signal areas (Tecno hasn't clarified how this works). The Tecno Pova Curve is going on sale at noon on June 5. The 6/128 GB variant is exclusive to Flipkart and is priced at INR 15,999. The 8/128 GB unit is INR 16,999 and on sale through offline retail stores. Pre-orders will get a chance to win a Royal Enfield motorcycle, a scooter, a free screen replacement, an extended warranty, and vouchers. Offline buyers will get No Cost EMI for up to 10 months for as low as INR 57 per day on EMI.
