Amazon's cloud services unit may retire this AI app, bring changes to…

Representative Image Amazon's cloud division may be planning to upgrade its AI app strategy for enterprise customers with a new bundled service internally known as Q Business Suite (QBS), a report claims. This service, which is described as a "unified workspace", will integrate existing Amazon tools like QuickSight, Q Business, and Q Apps in the bundle to combine business intelligence and generative AI capabilities , a report citing the company's internal documents claims. With QBS, the e-commerce major will bring together Amazon Web Services' (AWS) data visualisation software QuickSight, its primary AI chatbot service Q Business and Q Apps, which allows users to create generative AI-powered apps using natural language and company data. According to a report by Business Insider, which cited internal documents and unnamed sources to claim that Amazon has even considered phasing out the standalone Q Business chatbot once the QBS service is launched. What will these changes mean to AWS' enterprise customers Amazon is revamping its AI strategy with the upcoming launch of QBS, shifting focus from its earlier enterprise AI assistant, Q Business, which reportedly faced a rushed rollout and missed sales targets. AWS is now prioritising QBS, with "Quick" being one of the potential names under consideration, the report noted, citing sources familiar with this matter. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Forget Furosemide, Use This Household Item To Help Drain Edema Fluid WellnessGuide Learn more Undo Despite these developments, an Amazon spokesperson stated that Q Business is experiencing 'strong growth,' citing clients like Nasdaq, Smartsheet, and the NFL. The company's spokesperson said: 'If anything, we are investing even more in this area and expect to be delivering a ton of new features and capabilities over the coming year.' Amazon is reportedly designing QBS to offer a unified interface for accessing and automating tasks across business tools like Asana, Salesforce, Excel, and Outlook. The report, citing internal documents, describes QBS as enabling "agentic" workflows, where users can query data, generate reports, and perform actions like sending emails—all within one app. The platform aims to solve a common challenge: securely connecting multiple apps and automating tasks without a heavy technical setup. Amazon sees QBS as a step toward reducing manual, error-prone processes and eliminating fragmented workflows. This move marks Amazon's attempt to strengthen its position in the competitive software-as-a-service (SaaS) market, where it has historically lagged despite dominance in cloud infrastructure. QBS, overseen by AWS VP Dilip Kumar, is targeted for a July launch and may integrate with existing services like Q Business and QuickSight, the report adds. In the long term, Amazon envisions QBS to become a unified hub for all its business products, featuring shared identity, governance, and seamless integration. This Salman Khan and Rani Mukerji-starrer was reportedly funded by Chhota Shakeel, ensuing scandal exposed Bollywood-underworld nexus

In the late 90s and early 2000s, the Mumbai underworld made inroads into the world of films. The connection between the mafia and the Hindi film industry dates back to the 1960s, when Haji Mastan would often be seen socialising with the biggest stars of that era, such as Dilip Kumar and Sanjeev Kumar. Later, when Dawood Ibrahim became the most feared gangster in Mumbai, his associates were known to pressure film stars into doing movies for them. The attempt was to convert black money into white. The Bollywood-underworld nexus was properly exposed during the making of the 2003 film Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, directed by Abbas-Mustan and starring Salman Khan, Preity Zinta, and Rani Mukerji. Preity was the only one who testified against the underworld in the ensuing trial, while all other witnesses turned hostile. At a 2018 India Today event, she reflected on the scary experience. 'For the record, if I knew that everyone was going to back out, I also would have. It was a scary time in my life. I should have been protected. Whatever I said in court was on TV ten minutes later,' she recalled, making a reference to her colleagues turning hostile, and going on to mention the assassination attempt on filmmaker Rakesh Roshan's life. Also read – The producer of an Amitabh Bachchan film was kidnapped in broad daylight by Pathan mafia; Dilip Kumar got the investigation started She continued, 'I don't think there was anything happening on that set. But there was definitely fear going around. Because Rakesh ji (Roshan) had been shot. Everyone was paranoid. People would keep their phones switched off, worried that they will get a call.' She added, 'I was fine till they were scaring me, but once they started abusing, I lost it. I can take stress, but not people abusing me. I learnt that if you get a call from +92, don't pick up! Luckily I was famous. Had I not been, it would've been tough. They all said why did you have to be the one to do all this?' But my way of thinking was different. I didn't have a family, I didn't have children.' Because of her testimony, several individuals involved in the film were arrested. Chhota Shakeel's henchman Anjum Fazlani, who was arrested in connection with the case, was acquitted in 2010. 'Even Salman Khan, who had deposed before the court in March could not identify Fazlani, and he was declared hostile,' the accused's lawyer, Prakash Shetty, told Hindustan Times. During the trial, Salman is said to have suggested that he may or may not have met Fazlani, but couldn't recall. In 2003, the Special Court in Mumbai convicted financier Bharat Shah and sentenced him to a year in prison. But Shah walked free because he'd already spent 14 months in custody. His co-producer Nazim Rizvi was reportedly the man who was sent by Chhota Shakeel to sign Salman and other stars for the film. Salman would later go on to testify that he wasn't under any pressure. According to journalist Hussain Zaidi's book Dongri to Dubai: Six Decades of the Mumbai Mafia, Rizvi made many unsuccessful attempts at getting Salman on board, and Fazlani was assigned the job only because Rizvi failed. Based on the information that the Mumbai police accessed by tapping the phones of suspects, it was discovered that the underworld had code names for Bollywood personalities. Bharat Shah was 'BS', Salman was 'Pehelwan', and Shah Rukh Khan, who managed to give Rizvi the slip several times, was 'Hakla'. Also read – When Anurag Kashyap was kidnapped by a gangster after Satya: 'Unhone khana khilaya…' Zaidi wrote in his book, 'Rizvi also would regularly visit Salman and say politely, 'Excuse me, Salman Khan. Could you please speak to Shakeel bhai?' The muscular movie star did not take him seriously at all and snubbed him regularly. Rizvi was very often dragged kicking and screaming to the gates and kicked off the set by the security guards there.' After Rizvi failed one too many times, Fazlani was sent to secure Salman's services. 'Fazlani walked in and handed the phone over to Salman, telling him that Shakeel was on the line and wished to speak with the actor. Salman took the phone and found himself backed into a corner, with no possible way to deny Shakeel his demands. Salman was forced to work in the film Chori Chori Chupke Chupke . Shakeel funded it, pumping 15 crore rupees into this first venture. It was later established that Salman, Rani, Abbas-Mustan, and the others had participated in the film under duress as their lives were in danger and so, they were not detained further, nor were charges filed against them,' Zaidi wrote. The release of Chori Chori Chupke Chupke was delayed due to the investigation, but the movie was eventually released in theatres some months later. It earned moderately positive reviews, which singled out Preity's performance as a sex worker-turned-surrogate. According to Zaidi, Chhota Shakeel pumped Rs 15 crore into the project, via Bharat Shah and Rizvi. According to a Guardian report, Rizvi was also accused of trying to kill Hrithik Roshan, who was code-named 'Chikna', and his producer father Rakesh, code-named 'Takla'.

PM Modi to flag off first 'made in India' locomotive for export to Guinea from Marhowra plant in Bihar

New Delhi [India], June 20 (ANI): Furthering the vision of 'Make in India - Make for the World,' Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off a state-of-the-art locomotive built at the Marhowra Plant in Bihar's Saran for export to the Republic of Guinea on Friday, a release said. According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) release, this is the first export locomotive manufactured in this factory. The release said the locomotives are equipped with high-horsepower engines, an advanced AC propulsion system, microprocessor-based control systems, ergonomic cab designs, and incorporate technologies like regenerative braking. Speaking to ANI, Dilip Kumar, Executive Director of Information and Publicity (EDIP) at the Railway Board, said the plant earlier produced locomotives exclusively for Indian Railways, but with increased capacity, India is now entering the global locomotive export market. 'Marhowrah Diesel Locomotive Plant is a dream project of the Indian Railway. Locomotives manufactured here were earlier being supplied within the Indian railways, and now with increased production, we have decided to export locomotives. We have received a big order from the Republic of Guinea, which requires standard gauge locomotives... 150 locomotives will be sent to the Republic of Guinea over the next three years for their iron ore mine,' he said. He added that standard gauge locomotives are in high demand globally, especially in Western Europe, Africa, and Australia, and the plant has been upgraded to produce both standard and broad gauge variants. 'We have modified this plant to manufacture standard gauge locomotives with broad gauge locomotives... Standard gauge locomotives are in high demand in countries of Western Europe, Africa, and Australia... Directly and indirectly, 2000-2500 people have been employed here,' he said. Sandeep, Managing Director of Wabtec India, said the locomotives are crucial for Guinea's Simandou Project, one of the world's largest iron ore mining ventures. 'The iron ore will be shipped to a port 620 km away, which will be done via rail, and the iron ore will then be exported to various countries. These locomotives are an important rolling stock that will drive trains 24/7, and we hope that it is a successful project...' he said. He noted that the project was awarded in 2015, with Wabtec holding a 75% equity stake and Indian Railways 25 per cent. Since operations began, 726 locomotives have been delivered to Indian Railways, and now 150 will be exported to Guinea. 'Over 99 per cent of the workforce here is from Bihar, and more than 1,500 people have been empowered through this project,' he added. PM Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to Bihar and Odisha starting Friday, where he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects. According to a release, PM Modi will begin his visit from Bihar's Siwan, where he will inaugurate the new Vaishali-Deoria railway line project worth over Rs 400 crore and flag off a new train service on this route. The Prime Minister will also flag off the Vande Bharat Express between Patliputra and Gorakhpur via Muzaffarpur and Bettiah. In line with his commitment to conserving and rejuvenating the river Ganga, PM Modi will also inaugurate six Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) under the Namami Gange project, worth over Rs 1800 crore. As per the release, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for water supply, sanitation and STPs worth over Rs 3000 crore in various towns across Bihar. In a significant boost to power infrastructure in the region, the PM will lay the foundation stone for a 500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in Bihar. (ANI)
