Shimla: MoS Defence Sanjay Seth visits Army Training Command

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], June 9 (ANI): Union Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, visited the Shimla-based Army Training Command (ARTRAC) on June 9. Sanjay Seth was briefed by Lt Gen Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, ARTRAC, on the pivotal role played by ARTRAC in institutionalised training through 34 prestigious training establishments spread across the country, formulation of Doctrines and concepts based on contemporary and future challenges faced by the Indian Army, and development in aspects of Military Leadership. Sanjay Seth appreciated the Army Training Command's initiatives in empowering strategic leaders, online training efforts, technology absorption, and impetus to functional training. He lauded ARTRAC's role in transforming the Indian Army into a modern, technology-driven, Atmanirbhar, and battle-ready force by adopting niche technology and initiatives aligned with the Digital India Mission. During his interaction with personnel at HQ ARTRAC, Sanjay Seth highlighted and appreciated the joint coordination of the Army, Navy, and Air Force during Operation SINDOOR, calling it a successful demonstration of India's firm stand against terrorism and its perpetrators. He also emphasised the government's ongoing initiatives to increase NCC subscriptions and expand the Sainik School footprint. Sanjay Seth reaffirmed the government's commitment to the welfare of ex-servicemen. Sanjay Seth planted a sapling at the Army Heritage Museum complex as part of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign. Gujarat: CM Patel inaugurates new development center of Infosys at GIFT city

Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], June 7 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, while inaugurating the new Development Center of Infosys at GIFT City, reaffirmed the State Government's commitment to advancing the AI industry by implementing artificial intelligence-based systems across the state. He stated that the establishment of an AI Centre of Excellence at GIFT City is aimed at creating a unified platform that brings together solution developers, experts, professionals, and startups under one roof. According to the release, the newly operational Development Center of Infosys at GIFT City will focus on delivering advanced financial technology solutions under the FinTech framework. Additionally, it will place a strong emphasis on global services and innovation. In addition, the centre will provide advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven insights specifically tailored for financial institutions. It will also focus on delivering secure and transparent solutions for digital payments, smart contracts, and asset tokenization. Established with an investment of Rs32 crore, the Infosys Development Center is expected to create employment opportunities for over 1,000 professionals, further mentioned in the release. Expressing his gratitude to Infosys for establishing this Development Center in Gujarat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel stated that GIFT City--envisioned under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi--has emerged as the nation's hub for technology and fintech, hosting several leading global IT, fintech, and new-age technology firms. He further added that the definition of technology has transformed over the past decade as a result of the Digital India Mission launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under the Prime Minister's leadership, several policies and missions have been initiated over the past 11 years to give focused impetus to IT-enabled industries, semiconductors, and the electronics sector. The Chief Minister stated that Gujarat is fully prepared to lead in positioning India as a soft power leader and a knowledge-based economy. He also recalled the significant role played by Infosys founder Narayana Murthy in establishing 'iCreate,' an institution dedicated to guiding youth in the field of innovation in the state. On the occasion, Infosys CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka highlighted the company's growth journey, noting that Infosys, a global leader in consulting and IT services, was founded in 1981. With over four decades of experience in managing systems and processes for global enterprises, Infosys today supports clients in 56 countries and has a strong workforce of over 320,000 employees worldwide. He further mentioned that in 2024, Infosys was recognized as one of the best employers in India and, for the fourth consecutive year, ranked among the top 50 large companies in the country for women to work. On this occasion, Principal Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, Mona Khandhar, IFSCA Chairperson K. Rajaraman, Infosys Senior Vice Presidents Rajneesh Malviya and Niladri Prasad Mishra, and Director of ICT & e-Governance, Government of Gujarat, Kavita Shah, along with other dignitaries. (ANI)

Gujarat CM inaugurates Cognizant India's Tech-Fin Delivery Centre at GIFT City

Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], May 21 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel stated that, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is rapidly advancing towards becoming the world's third-largest economy and is prepared to lead the knowledge-based global economy, an official statement said. The Chief Minister on Wednesday inaugurated the Tech-Fin Delivery Centre of Cognisant India at GIFT City. He began his address by congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Armed Forces on the resounding success of Operation Sindoor. Patel emphasised that modern technology played a significant role in the success of Operation Sindoor. Under the Prime Minister's leadership, technology has been given utmost importance across all sectors. As a consequence of the Digital India Mission initiated by the Prime Minister, the country's technological landscape has undergone a significant transformation over the past decade, effectively making technology accessible to the everyday citizen, the statement said. The Chief Minister welcomed Cognizant's arrival in Gujarat, stating that under the Prime Minister's guidance, a conducive environment has been created for emerging sectors and technologies in Gujarat. He further added that India possesses the world's most affordable intellectual manpower. Under the Prime Minister's leadership, there is an increased focus on critical technologies such as AI and semiconductors. On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel remarked that Gujarat has a track record of being at the forefront of the Prime Minister's vision and mission. Gujarat is also taking the lead in making India a leader in both the world's soft power and the knowledge-based economy. Three semiconductor plants are set to commence operations in Gujarat. The state government is committed to establishing an AI-based ecosystem in the state and promoting AI-based industries. He further stated that by initiating the AI Centre of Excellence in GIFT City, a robust platform has been created in the state to bring together experts, businesses, and startups for new solutions. The Global Capability Centre Policy has also been announced to encourage Global Capability Centres in the state. Major global companies are showing keen interest in leveraging this policy to commence their operations in Gujarat. Chief Minister added that GIFT City was established in the state due to the unique vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. With the presence of several global companies setting up their facilities here, Gujarat has emerged as a global leader. GIFT City has, in a way, developed a robust ecosystem of talent, technology, and innovation. On this occasion, Principal Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology Mona Khandhar, and officials of the company were present. (ANI)
