Welcome to Dubai Internet City. This part of town is known to be home to some very cool offices and is a real hotspot when it comes to commuters. If you're planning a visit (or you're already there), here's everything you need to know. Your ultimate guide to Dubai Internet City Renting in Dubai Internet City Average rent price/housing type: Dhs160,000 per year (one-bedroom apartment). It's more common to visit Dubai Internet City than to be living in it, as most buildings are commercial rather than residential. However, there are a few properties spread across the area and neighbouring areas including Dubai Media City. The average one-bedroom apartment is currently rented for an annual average of Dhs160,000 according to the latest data from Property Finder. However, there are some incredible towers currently in the works, including the Iconic and Damac Casa projects, but they'll set you back a dirham or two. Where to eat in Dubai Internet City Since this neck of the woods is surrounded by offices, it's no surprise that it's packed with tasty lunch spots. For some classic Lebanese bites, swing by Ka'ak Al Manara, or if you're in the mood for a sit-down Italian special, you can't miss the burrata risotto at Marini. If you've only got time to grab and go, pick up a superfood salad and a matcha latte at Joga before getting back to work. Things to do in Dubai Internet City With pretty Palm Jumeirah views from one side and sweeping city views from the other, for an impressive view visit Twenty Three Rooftop Bar. Or if you need somewhere to catch some rays, book in for a budget-friendly (and redeemable) pool day at Coco Lounge. Transport in Dubai Internet City Al Khail Metro Station has been renamed to Al Fardan Exchange Metro Station (Credit: RTA) Since it has a lot of commuters, the transport links in and out of Dubai Internet City are pretty great. Not only are you located next to Sheikh Zayed Road, but you can also easily access Jumeirah Beach Road and Dubai Marina. There are a selection of buses running through the neighbourhood, including the 88 to Deira City Centre, the 84 to JBR and Dubai Marina and the 83 to Al Ghubaiba bus station. Meanwhile, there are two Dubai Metro stations you can access from either end of the area, Al Fardan Exchange and Dubai Internet City. Both of these stations sit on the red line. Dubai has some incredible indoor offerings for you to choose from, and believe us, there's a lot. Try some of the attractions you've never got around to, enjoy underwater yoga or get involved in a weird or whacky sport- every wanted to start rollerblading? We've got it all down for you. Jump to: Indoor activities to try in Dubai for the family Activate Canadian active gaming experience Activate is now open at City Centre Mirdif with plenty of ways to get one over your pals. The space features nine dynamic game rooms which fuse gaming, entertainment and physical activity in a state-of-the-art facility. (600 599905). Active Games UAE If this was one of your favourites as a kid, then you need to step inside the game and experience real-life Pac-Man. This gigantic experience has over 100 different things to do, and you'll feel like you've walked through video games, taken a stroll through Japan and stumbled into a dream at the same time. The hand-knit macramé play park for children to climb and wriggle across is a firm favourite and with 40 hands-on exhibits and several interactive galleries it is a go-to spot to keep youngsters entertained. Once just a hobby you would see hilarious videos of online, you can now let your kids try it out in a safe child-friendly environment. Try it out at one of three locations in the city that mean you can test your limits on padded mats and a safe environment instead of scaling building and hopping off roofs. SENSAS The new multi-sensory experience has just landed in Dubai, putting together a selection of experiences and puzzles that you will work your way around. The Green Planet (Credit: The Green Planet) A little tropical oasis in the middle of the desert, this indoor zoo and garden is packed with over 3,000 species of plants and animals, offering a slice of the tropics for nature-lovers. The experience will weave through a vertical rainforest, where the children can get up close with some sleepy sloths, or if they're feeling brave, opt in for the reptile encounter. City Walk, Al Wasl, (800 2629464). La Perle (Credit: La Perle Dragone) The only permanent show in Dubai, it is well worth a visit. The performance will leave you unsure where to look as the stage floods with water in one direction, and the cast show off some incredible stunts in the other. There are lots of ways to enjoy the show, from an earlier performance with the family to a luxurious dinner and show experience if you're searching for a full evening experience. From Dhs269. Madame Tussauds Serena Williams is the latest celebrity name at the wax museum (Credit: Madame Tussauds Dubai) It might not be the real thing, but it's as close as most of us are going to get to meeting a celeb. Snap a selfie with some A-listers from Dwayne Johnson to Justin Timberlake, and even say hello to Kate Winslet and George Clooney, the newest additions to the building. If you want to slow down the pace, why not spend a few hours at the library, browse the books and have a look round all seven floors. Shindagha Museum (Credit: Supplied) Get a bit of culture in this hotter months and visit the UAE's largest heritage site, where you can learn more about the tales of the first residents of Dubai Creek. If you're missing getting lost in the stalls, take yourself to the market in Souk Madinat Jumeirah and get a flavour of Arabic culture. Speaking of courses, have as many as you fancy as the restaurant is an all you can eat buffet, offering up everything from fresh seafood to sushi, dim sum and more. So you've climbed the Burj Khalifa, shopped till you dropped at Dubai Mall and snapped some gorgeous pics circling around Ain Dubai. You've bronzed at the beach clubs and even tried a brunch or two but how about all the quirky things to do in Dubai? Take a trip to the skies with this painting workshop in Dubai
Taking creativity to new heights (literally)… If you love to get creative, you most likely have been to a paint and grape here in Dubai. Well, this new (and hopefully, reoccurring) painting workshop will take your experience to a whole new level – and a sky-high one, at that. has teamed up with The Dubai Balloon for a really cool collab inviting those who sign up for an evening of creativity paired with breathtaking skyline views from one of Dubai's soaring attractions. Its very first session took place in April and is back due to popular demand. So if you missed out on that session, make sure you book the next one in. It takes place on Saturday, May 24, from 5.30pm to 8.30pm. The session begins with a trip on the Dubai Balloon taking passengers up to 300 metres high, offering impressive views across the city. Its prime location in Palm Jumeirah means that you'll be able to see as far out as Burj Khalifa on a clear day. Its doughnut-shaped platform means you can walk around to get the best views of the city and the sea. The flight duration isn't too long, so make the most of your trip. Once it's done, the tethered rope will gently pull the balloon back down to ground level. The best news? Since you rise at sundown, expect to see the Dubai sky painted with gorgeous yellow, orange, and golden hues. After you're back on solid ground, you will then head to the balloon's scenic terrace café for a guided Art & Sip session with the lovely team from Fosc Art. Don't know where to start with the brush? Don't worry, whether you're a pro and know your colour combinations or if you haven't held a brush since middle school, you'll be guided by the helpful team. And they really know their stuff. All you have to do is come with a fun and brave can-do attitude. Go with your partner for a fun and different date experience, with your friends, or even your whole family for a lovely bonding experience.
