Ballerina on OTT: Ana de Armas, Keanu Reeves' John Wick spinoff may premiere on a streaming platform in late August

Ballerina on OTT: Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas, is out in theatres in India. The film hit the screens on June 13 much to the delight of her fans. The film is set in the same universe as Keanu Reeves' John Wick and promises to be a treat for those fond of action thrillers. The film is currently playing exclusively in theatres, which means it is not available on any OTT platform. It will, however, eventually be available for streaming on either Netflix or Prime Video. Ballerina may premiere on OTT later this year Ballerina, a sidequel to John Wick 3 and the latest release from Lionsgate, will land on an OTT platform after its theatrical run. Den of Thieves 2, another Lionsgate film, started streaming on Netflix two and a half months after arriving in theatres. Given this, one can expect Ballerina to be available in late August. However, there is no guarantee that it will be available on Netflix. According to Variety, Prime Video got the streaming rights to a 'package' of 2025 films. Ballerina might premiere on the platform sometime this year if it is part of the deal. What's Ballerina about? Ballerina is an action thriller helmed by Len Wiseman. It traces the rise and life of an assassin and is a sidequel to John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. It features Ana de Armas in the lead with Gabriel Byrne, Norman Reedus, Keanu Reeves, and the late Lance Reddick in key roles.

‘Den Of Thieves 2' Dethroned In Netflix's Top 10 List By A New Movie

Den of Thieves 2 Den of Thieves 2 Gerard Butler has found another sleeper action series that has recieved love from both critics and audiences, Den of Thieves, which has just gotten its sequel onto Netflix the past few weeks, Den of Thieves 2: Pantera. But after a while on top, a new Netflix original movie has unseated it, which is The Life List, a romantic comedy starring a cast you may not know, though I certainly know Mrs. Coach, Connie Britton, who has a part. Star Sofia Carson recently had a supporting role in Netflix's Carry-On, which has gone on to be the second-most watched Netflix original film in the site's history (she also starred in Purple Hearts). So, that's good. The male lead is Kyle Allen, who I don't know, but apparently he had a part in Spielberg's West Side Story. Top 10 Netflix The film has opened up a somewhat traditional critic/fan split, albeit there are not that many reviews in for either category just now. It has a poor 36% critic score, but that's only 11 reviews. Its 74% audience score is better, and it has as solid 7.1/10 on IMDB. And anecdotally, my wife really like it. Here's the synopsis: I feel like a film described as someone 'discovering herself along the way' is going to be pretty trope-y, but whatever, it's harmless, and Netflix has produced far worse films as of late. Speaking of that, The Electric State and its 15% score is all the way down to #9 on the list, falling faster than its competitors and while Netflix won't say it, is undoubtedly a big disappointment for them. Movies like Kraven and Trap remain above it. Talk to Me, one of the 2023's best horror movies, is at #3 and I suggest you watch that. Rising up the list is Con Mum, a True Crime story, and those always tend to do pretty well. I might expect it to grab a few more spots in the coming days. We will see how long The Life List stays on top, but despite critic scores, it debuted at #1 and viewers seem to like it so far. Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, Bluesky and Instagram. Pick up my sci-fi novels the Herokiller series and The Earthborn Trilogy.

The Best Action Movie Of 2025 Just Hit Netflix's Top 10 List

Den of Thieves 2 Lionsgate Netflix's $320 million The Electric State is currently plummeting down its Top 10 movie list, now at #5 and dropping, passed up by a number of licensed movies from Despicable Me 4 to Kraven The Hunter to now, a new action movie that so far, is the best of the year. That would be Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, which may sound like a cheesy straight to DVD offering (well, straight to streaming now), it's a surprisingly good sequel to a surprisingly good original which was clearly successful enough to warrant this second movie. Though yes, kind of cheesy. The concept of the original Den of Thieves was Gerard Butler as a rule-breaking LA Sheriff attempting to stop a heist crew, led by Pablo Schreiber's Ray Merrimen, who would go on to star in the awful Halo show, but despite that, he's excellent here. Since his breakout role in 300, Gerard Butler has been carving out these somewhat schlocky but solid action movies, including the 'Has Fallen' series, but now, simultaneously, Den of Thieves. Den of Thieves 2 Netflix The first film was good, better than its 43% critic score indicated back in 2018, but now both its critic and audience score have improved since the original, a fresh 63% and a 79% respectively. Seven years later, they've refined the concept. The movie brings back Butler, of course, but also the first film's O'Shea Jackson Jr. In what may be something of a cost-saving measure, they are the two biggest names in the cast, and the series didn't feel the need to add a bunch of A-listers to attract more attention. The highest profile new addition would be Salvatore Esposito, known best for nearly a decade of the series Gomorrah. Here's the official synopsis of Den of Thieves 2: One problem Netflix has is that no, you cannot watch the original Den of Thieves on the service right now, and would have to head over to Peacock or Amazon for that. Licensing! So much fun. Given that we're only a quarter of the way through the year, no, I would not expect Den of Thieves 2 to stay the best action movie of the year, even if yes, I would say it beats out Captain America: Brave New World so far. My guess is it won't be better than Thunderbolts, for one. But it's a great, Heat-channeling movie that a lot of people will probably enjoy, as is the first, if you haven't checked it out yet. 'Den of Thieves 2' hits Netflix: Action sequel starring Gerard Butler surges in popularity despite mixed reviews

Gerard Butler returns as grizzled lawman Nick O'Brien in Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, now streaming on Netflix. The action-packed sequel follows O'Brien as he heads to Europe to track down criminal mastermind Donnie Wilson, played by O'Shea Jackson Jr. The new chapter sees the pair caught in a high-stakes diamond heist set in the picturesque city of Nice, France. While critics have offered mixed reviews, giving the film a 63% score on Rotten Tomatoes, audience feedback has been far more positive, with a 79% rating on the Popcornmeter. Charles Bramesco of The Guardian awarded it four stars, calling it 'another brash yet hugely entertaining 'Heat'-aping thriller.' Brian Tallerico of described it as 'a heist procedural, granular with details, elevated by a pair of charismatic leading men in one of the most beautiful places in the world.' The sequel, directed by Christian Gudegast, builds on the gritty intensity of the 2018 original while offering a lighter tone and expanded international setting. Butler's character, now facing a personal crisis after a divorce and forced leave from the LAPD, infiltrates Donnie's crew in a bid to redeem himself and take down the gang from the inside. The chemistry between Butler and Jackson Jr. remains a highlight, with their onscreen tension and reluctant camaraderie driving much of the film's appeal. The film also stars Evin Ahmad, Salvatore Esposito, and Fortunato Cerlino, adding depth to the ensemble cast. Following the success of Den of Thieves 2, the franchise is already moving forward with a third instalment. A post from the official X account in January confirmed Den of Thieves 3 is in development, with Jackson Jr. expressing his commitment to continuing the series.

Den of Thieves 2: Pantera drops from top five as box office competition heats up

Gerard Butler's heist sequel, Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, is losing its spot among the top five highest-grossing movies of the year. The film has earned $36 million domestically and $20 million internationally, bringing its worldwide total to $56 million. However, The Monkey is closing in, trailing by less than $1 million and expected to surpass Den of Thieves 2 by the end of the week. Though the sequel received higher ratings than its predecessor—scoring 62% from critics and 79% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes—it failed to replicate the original's financial success. Premiering on January 10 as the first major release of 2025, the film opened strong, claiming the No. 1 spot with $15 million, outperforming Mufasa: The Lion King and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 in their fourth weekend. However, it saw a steep drop, falling 56% in its second weekend with just $6.5 million and continuing to decline in subsequent weeks. By its third weekend, earnings had dropped another 55% to $2.9 million, nearly pushing it out of the top 10. The film remained in theaters for just six weeks. While Den of Thieves 2: Pantera struggled at the box office, Butler has a packed schedule. He is set to reprise his role as Stoick in the live-action How to Train Your Dragon, hitting theaters on June 13. Additionally, he will return in Greenland: Migration, the sequel to his 2020 disaster thriller, and lead upcoming sequels for both Den of Thieves 3 and Plane (titled Ship). While its theatrical run has ended, fans can catch Den of Thieves 2: Pantera on Netflix starting Thursday.
