Bruce Willis' wife Emma celebrates birthday with his ex Demi Moore and their family amid actor's dementia battle
Bruce Willis ' wife Emma Heming rung in her 47th birthday during a lowkey celebration with her blended family this week. The entrepreneur - who tied the knot with the Die Hard actor in 2009 - jumped to Instagram on Thursday to share moments from the special day while joined by her two children, as well as Demi Moore and Rumer Willis. Heming shares Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11, with Willis - who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) back in 2023. Moore was previously married to Bruce from 1987 until their divorce was finalized in 2000. The former couple are parents to Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 31. In one image uploaded to Emma's latest carousel of snaps, she flashed a cheerful smile during a birthday dinner. She was surrounded by her two daughters, as well as the Golden Globe winner. Rumer's daughter Louetta also joined in on the lighthearted festivities - although Bruce as well as Scout and Tallulah were notably absent from the gathering. Another picture was taken as Emma - who officially turned one year older on June 18 - blew out a candle on top of a sugary slice of cake as the group spent time outside at a restaurant. A short clip included in the post showed Louetta, two - whom Rumer shares with ex Derek Richard Thomas - sweetly wishing Heming happy birthday. Lastly, the mom-of-two shared another reel as both she and her daughters enjoyed a bike ride outside. In the caption, she penned to her nearly 1 million followers: 'Over the past few weeks, I've been wrapped in so much love for my birthday. 'From Bruce, our girl's, my mom, my family, and dear friends. I feel their love and support holding me up in ways words can't always capture.' Emma concluded with, 'Thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes. I truly felt your continued kindness and I'm grateful. I had a beautiful day.' Tallulah jumped to the comment section and wrote to Heming, 'You are so loved.' In 2022, Bruce 'stepped away' from acting following his aphasia diagnosis and the following year, it was revealed that he has frontotemporal dementia. Tallulah jumped to the comment section and wrote to Heming, 'You are so loved' The blended family has come together to support Willis and each other amid his ongoing battle with the illness. In March, they celebrated the retired actor's 70th birthday - and shared memorable pictures onto social media. During an interview with Town & Country Magazine last year, Emma opened up about how she receives support from Demi as well as the actress' three daughters. 'The family respects the way I'm looking after him; they really support me. If I need to vent, if I need to cry, if I need to rage - because all of that can happen and it's okay to have those feelings - they are always there to listen.' Heming added, 'I'm so thankful that we are this blended family. They're very supportive, very loving, and very helpful, and a lot of people don't have that.' She also expressed at the time that she doesn't 'shield' her daughters from their dad's diagnosis. Heming explained, 'This disease is misdiagnosed, it's missed, it's misunderstood. So finally getting to a diagnosis was key so that I could learn what frontotemporal dementia is and I could educate our children.' Emma added, 'I've never tried to sugarcoat anything for them. They've grown up with Bruce declining over the years. I'm not trying to shield them from it.' 'What I learned from our therapist was that if children ask questions, they're ready to know the answer. If we could see that Bruce was struggling, I would address it with the kids so they could understand, but this disease is chronic, progressive and terminal.' Heming told the outlet that their children don't tend 'to speak about the terminal side of this with them, nor have they asked.' However, she expressed that Mabel and Evelyn 'know that Daddy's not going to get better.' Emma said that she was not going to let 'FTD to take our whole family down. Bruce wouldn't want that,' while adding that she hopes to help the 'next family out there.' Over the past weekend, she paid a heartwarming tribute to her husband in celebration of Father's Day. She uploaded a throwback photo of daughter Mabel hugging her dad and wrote, 'Happy Father's Day to all the dads living with disability or disease, showing up in the ways they can and to the children who show up for them. 'What Bruce teaches our girls goes far beyond words. Resilience, unconditional love, and the quiet strength in simply being present. This photo says so much. Love deepens. It adapts. It stays, even when everything else changes.' However, she also candidly added that 'these symbolic days stir up a lot' and admitted that she was 'profoundly sad today.' 'I wish, with every cell in my body, that things could be different for him and lighter for our family.' Emma continued, 'As they say in our FTD community, "It is what it is." And while that might sound dismissive, to me, it's not. It grounds me. It helps me return to the acceptance of what is and not fight this every step of the way like I used to. 'Today, let's celebrate the bada** dads, those who are here, and those we carry with us Onward.' Rumer also shared a post in tribute of her dad Bruce and got candid about how she 'feels a deep ache.' She shared photos of the actor from over the years, including a black and white image as she embraced Willis. 'Today is hard, I feel a deep ache in my chest to talk to you and tell you everything I'm doing and what's going on in my life. To hug you and ask you about life and your stories and struggles and successes.' The actress added, 'I wish I asked you more questions while you could still tell me about it all. 'But I know you wouldn't want me to be sad today so I'll try to just be grateful reminding myself how lucky I am that you're my dad and that you're still with me and I can still hold you and hug you and kiss your cheek and rub your head I can tell you stories.' Rumer continued, 'I can watch the way your eyes light up when you see Louetta I will be grateful for every moment I have with you. I love you so much dad happy Father's Day. 'Sending love to all those who are in the boat with me or have lost their fathers, to the single moms who are the dads too, to my future baby daddy…' Emma is also preparing to release a book titled The Unexpected Journey - which will hit shelves later this year on September 9th.

Rachel Griffiths Says ‘Older Women Are Having a Moment,' Gushes Over ‘The Last Showgirl' and Jamie Lee Curtis ‘Dancing on That F—ing Table': ‘I Was in Awe of That Girl!'
According to Rachel Griffiths, whether it's cinema or TV, 'older women are having a moment.' 'We all know that's true: Demi Moore is a brand. There are so many great actresses of that generation. Take Helen Mirren in 'MobLand' right now, for fuck's sake. I loved Pamela [Anderson] in 'The Last Showgirl' and Jamie Lee Curtis dancing on that fucking table was the greatest moment I saw last year. I was in awe of that girl!' More from Variety 'Vanguard' Wins Series Award at Monte-Carlo Television Festival as Robin Wright Takes Crystal Nymph Judith Light Is Ready for Ridley Scott Exec-Produced 'The Terror: Devil in Silver' and for Women to Claim Their Space: 'Negotiate, for God's Sake!' Netflix's Cannabis Drama 'Amsterdam Empire' Gives Famke Janssen the Role She's Been Waiting For - and She Finally Gets to Speak in Dutch Directed by Gia Coppola, 'The Last Showgirl' focused on veteran dancers in Vegas. Griffiths isn't jealous of her colleagues' roles, however. 'If it's good, that means the actor is delivering. For me to go 'I wish I had it,' I just never have that thought. She's already inhabiting it. It's very rare that you're thinking: 'I could have done it better.' Usually, you're just bedazzled by the choices you wouldn't have made.' Recently seen in Sydney Sweeney-Glen Powell rom-com 'Anyone But You,' the Australian actor has become known for hit shows 'Six Feet Under' and 'Brothers & Sisters.' Joking about being in a 'pretty, dumb' jury at Monte-Carlo Television Festival as opposed to 'sad, serious' doc jury – 'We're here because we're unemployed. Come on, you can say it,' she said to co-juror John Reardon – Griffiths underlined: women watch television. 'I watch television when I'm doing the laundry, when I'm folding socks, when I'm cooking. You know, I didn't go to the cinema for years. I was too tired. Women are never going to stop demanding to see themselves represented authentically,' she added. 'We Australians, we fought in World War I with a poster that said: 'Free trip to Europe.' I came to a jury in Monaco instead – I had it much better than my grandfather.' During a chat with journalists, Griffiths – whose show 'Madam' was awarded at the fest only last year – admitted she hoped to see more diverse shows. 'I would say the selection was different to the broader palette of the stuff I'm digesting. There wasn't a huge amount of diversity in terms of ethnic communities. There wasn't a huge diversity of representation. That's probably just timing, but I wouldn't necessarily take it as representative of a litmus test of [what's happening] at this moment.' Griffiths has been working with Blackfella Films, founded by Rachel Perkins and focusing on Indigenous Australian stories. She exec-produced and starred in 'Total Control' alongside Deborah Mailman. 'It's very close to my heart. It makes stories better when their content is reflective of the places we live. I hope this rollback of diversity and inclusion doesn't impact our industry, because it makes characters more compelling, and it makes television more interesting. I hope it wasn't just one moment in history when we got 'Beef' and these great casts coming from non-Caucasian backgrounds.' In her own work, Griffiths refuses to 'feed the beast.' 'If the algorithm wants more 'angry' shows, I'm not going to start doing it.' But she noticed a new demand for returnable procedurals. 'The inclusion of a show like 'Good Cop/Bad Cop' [in the competition] shows people are trying to find returnable procedurals that bring you joy and do it in a fresh way. When I'm out pitching and having discussions around the world, I hear: 'Do you have an idea for a returnable procedural?',' she says. 'It's just so hard to make those limited series. They are hard to sell unless you have a big name, like Toni Collette or Colin Farrell.' Rumer Willis made a conscious effort to feel "grateful" on Father's Day (15.06.25). Alongside a series of throwback photographs, Rumer wrote on Instagram: "Today is hard, I feel a deep ache in my chest to talk to you and tell you everything I'm doing and what's going on in my life. To hug you and ask you about life and your stories and struggles and successes. I wish I asked you more questions while you could still tell me about it all. But I know you wouldn't want me to be sad today so I'll try to just be grateful reminding myself how lucky I am that you're my dad and that you're still with me and I can still hold you and hug you and kiss your cheek and rub your head I can tell you stories. (sic)" Rumer - who has Louetta, two, with her ex-partner Derek Thomas - is ultimately determined to cherish the special moments with her 70-year-old dad, despite the challenges they face. Rumer - who is the eldest daughter of Bruce and Demi Moore - continued: "I can watch the way your eyes light up when you see Louetta I will be grateful for every moment I have with you. I love you so much dad happy Father's Day. Sending love to all those who are in the boat with me or have lost their fathers, to the single moms who are the dads too, to my future baby daddy… [heart emoji] (sic)" Bruce's family revealed news of his dementia diagnosis in early 2023. They said in a statement at the time: "Since we announced Bruce's diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce's condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD). Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis."

Heming shared a photo of their daughter Evelyn, 11, hugging Willis, and dedicated the post to fathers living with disabilities. She wrote: 'Love deepens. It adapts. It stays, even when everything else changes.'
