Toxic SnyderVerse Fans Prompt James Gunn To Respond Over 'Superman' Boycott

The DC Universe will be fully kicked off with the release of James Gunn's Superman . The new wave of franchise films and shows will take over from the failed attempt at a franchise prior, which started off with Zack Snyder's Man of Steel . Now with a toxic group of SnyderVerse fans attempting to boycott James Gunn's Superman , Gunn has issued his own response. Snyder fans have had varying levels of success with their attempts to restore Zack Snyder's vision for the DC franchise. Fans were able to convince Warner Bros. to allow Zack Snyder the opportunity to finish his own cut of Justice League . Further attempts failed, however, including their desire to have David Ayer's original Suicide Squad cut released or their movement to have Zack Snyder create all-new Justice League sequels. Now, some Snyder fans are attempting to simply ruin the fun for everyone, with a boycott being placed to ruin the success of James Gunn's Superman . While the film is paving the way to be a behemoth at the box office, some fans are eager to disrupt its chances at being a success, with one fan on Reddit having shared the following message that has since been deleted via CBM: 'Fight for our Snyderverse on the imposter Superman release day. Here's what we can do to make a difference 1. Post spoilers everywhere. People are less likely to see or enjoy the movie if it's already spoiled 2. Leave bad rating on review sites. We know for sure gunbots will post fake positive reviews so we must let people know the truth and balance the bias out with realistic scores. 3. Reserve tickets online but don't complete the purchase. By selecting and reserving tickets, it gets taken out of the pool for a period of time which means this has a chance of stopping gunbots from buying tickets Gun fired the first shot and killed the Snyderverse and here is our chance to take the fight back to him.' While some fans are acknowledging the toxic behavior and apologizing on behalf of the Zack Snyder fanbase, and others are worried that it could have an impact on Superman , Gunn doesn't seem to have any worries. In fact, he made a response on Threads to note that 'we'll survive.' 'lol I think we'll survive. I'm not sure the eight people that listen to that guy (I'm going to go out on a limb and guess it's a guy) are going to impact the course of events.' James Gunn's Superman will be hitting theaters on July 11, 2025. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates on the highly-anticipated blockbuster as we have them.

Jason Statham Hit ‘A Working Man' Gets Streaming Premiere Date On MGM+

Jason Statham in "A Working Man." Amazon/MGM Studios A Working Man — Jason Statham's hit crime thriller from his Beekeeper director David Ayer — is coming soon to streaming on MGM+. Rated R, A Working Man opened in theaters on March 28 before arriving on digital streaming via premium video on demand on April 15. The official summary of A Working Man reads, 'Levon Cade (Statham) left behind a decorated military career in the black ops to live a simple life working construction. But when his boss' daughter (Arianna Rivas), who is like family to him, is taken by human traffickers, his search to bring her home uncovers a world of corruption far greater than he ever could have imagined.' A Working Man also stars David Harbour, Michael Peña, Ilsa Gie and Jason Flemying. An Amazon/MGM Studios production, A Working Man will arrive on streaming on MGM+ on Thursday, June 26, according to When to Stream. MGM+ offers a single, ad-free package for $6.99 per month or $58.99 per year. Sylvester Stallone and director David Ayer co-wrote the screenplay for A Working Man, which is an adaptation of author Chuck Dixon's 2014 novel Levon's Trade. In an interview with Moviefone following the release of A Working Man in theaters, Ayer explained how influential Stallone was in his life and career and as such, how the script completed a full-circle moment. 'It is funny how life has these circles. As a kid I saw 'Rocky' and it made me want to work out and learn to box,' Ayer told Moviefone. 'But as a young writer, once I heard the story of how he had written the script and been so protective of it and ultimately got the film made the way he wanted on his terms, that inspired me to do the same thing with Training Day, which came together like a dream for me.' Ayer added that when he had the chance to work with Stallone on what became the final script for A Working Man, 'it just made a lot of sense.' 'I mean, here's this '80s action icon, this legend who really understands action. So, the script had a great starting point for me,' Ayer told Moviefone. 'Then to bring Jason Statham into that, who is really the inheritor of that action tradition from the '80s and '90s. I mean, you just don't have icons like that in the action space like Jason. So, it just felt like a great team-up.' A Working Man made $37 million in North American theaters and $61.6 million internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $98.6 million against a $40 million production budget before prints and advertising, per The Numbers. A Working Man debuts on streaming video on demand on MGM+ on June 26.

'One of the greatest war films of all time' now on Amazon Prime

'Fury' recently left Netflix after spending a number of years on the streaming platform 'Fury', known for its raw portrayal of the mechanised savagery of combat and its stellar cast, has recently left the Netflix roster but remains accessible on Amazon Prime Video. The movie plunges audiences into the tension-filled world of tank warfare in World War II, following an experienced US tank crew as they maneuver through the devastating terrain of Nazi Germany in 1945's dying days. ‌ The film is directed by the notable David Ayer and features Brad Pitt in a commanding role as Staff Sergeant Don "Wardaddy" Collier, with strong support from Logan Lerman, Shia LaBeouf, Michael Peña, and Jon Bernthal. ‌ Under Wardaddy's tough command, his squad endures not only physical dangers but also the immense psychological toll of warfare. 'Fury' delves deep into the close-knit relationships forged on the front lines, depicting both the brutal reality of conflict and the resilience of the human spirit amidst chaos, reports the Express. A significant element of the film's realism stems from the 'Fury' itself, an M4 Sherman tank, and the on-screen use of an actual, operational Tiger 1 tank. The authenticity extends to the actors' experiences, having undergone an intensive boot camp conducted by Navy SEALs, which aimed to replicate the challenges of being encased within a tank. In reflecting on the harsh preparation, Brad Pitt described the intensity, saying: "Set up to break us down, to keep us cold, to keep us exhausted, to make us miserable, to keep us wet, make us eat cold food". "And if our stuff wasn't together we had to pay for it with physical forfeits. We're up at five in the morning, we're doing night watches on the hour". ‌ Director Ayer was known for pushing his cast to their limits, even encouraging physical altercations to build tension. This approach resulted in actors sporting black eyes and bloody noses. "I am ruthless as a director", he said. "I will do whatever I think is necessary to get what I want". ‌ Despite not being a major contender during awards season, Fury received acclaim for its performances and authenticity upon release. It's now regarded by some as one of the most realistic modern portrayals of tank warfare on screen. "The battles are chaotic and terrifying, and the film doesn't shy away from showing how brutal war is. The tank scenes are some of the most intense I've ever seen in a movie-you feel the claustrophobia inside the tank and the constant danger outside. It's loud, dirty, and unrelenting, which makes it all feel so real", one review on Rotten Tomatoes reads. "With a strong cast and intense storytelling, it's a powerful reminder of the kind of character-driven war movies we rarely see anymore", another fan penned. "One of the best movies of all time. It will make you laugh, cry, angry... truly captivating and amazing", wrote another.
