This story is part of the KXAN Data Hub, where numbers help tell the whole created several data-driven stories and databases on topics including weather and climate, politics, education, sports and growth in Texas. Each story in the KXAN Data Hub is updated as new data becomes available. AUSTIN (KXAN) — Delta Air Lines overtook American Airlines to become the second-largest airline at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in April, passenger data shows. Monthly passenger statistics for AUS are publicly available since January 2019. An airport spokesperson couldn't confirm if Delta had carried more passengers than American in a month prior to 2019, but told KXAN this was 'likely' the first time it happened in airport history, as Delta currently has its busiest schedule ever from AUS. AUS Data Hub: Passenger totals, busiest months and new flights in 2025 Delta flew 302,647 passengers in and out of Austin in April, while American carried 298,579 passengers. Southwest Airlines remains the largest airline by far, carrying more than 735,000 passengers in April alone. Throughout most of 2021, 2022 and 2023, American held a significant lead over Delta. In every month from March through December 2022, for example, American's passenger total was more than double that of Delta. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, when air travel from Austin all but ground to a halt, American maintained an advantage. Delta has been surging in recent months, with a slew of new nonstop flights from Austin. Since 2023, the airline has launched or announced 16 new direct routes, three of which are set to begin later this year. Only one of those new routes, to Harlingen, has since been canceled. Meanwhile, American launched six new routes from AUS since 2023, but all have been canceled since their launch. The airline has canceled 35 nonstop routes from Austin in total since the start of 2023, including international destinations in the Bahamas, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Mexico. Full list of new nonstop flights from AUS in 2025 Many of Delta's new routes are those dropped by American, including Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Las Vegas, Memphis, Nashville, New Orleans, Orlando, Palm Springs, Panama City and Tampa. In the first four months of 2025, American flew more than 1.1 million people, accounting for 17.4% of AUS passengers. Delta flew a little more than 1 million people during the same timeframe — 16.1% of all passengers. Southwest has flown more than 2.6 million people, 41.6% of all passengers. DataHub raises $35m to advance CMP development
DataHub, an open source metadata platform owned by Acryl Data, has secured $35m in Series B funding round to advance development of context management platform (CMP). The company's CMP focuses on discovery, observability, and control for data, AI models, and AI agents. Led by Bessemer Venture Partners, the funding brings the company's total funding to $65m. As part of the investment, Lauri Moore from Bessemer Venture Partners will join the company's board of directors. DataHub CEO and co-founder Swaroop Jagadish said: "Rapid adoption of AI in the enterprise is revealing the significance of comprehensive visibility, reliability, and trust across their data and AI ecosystem—far beyond traditional data cataloguing to a machine-scale world where AI agents become the power users of data. "DataHub is uniquely positioned to lead this new category of AI and data context management with our architecture built for extreme scale, performance, and real-time machine-scale automations." The company plans to use the new funding to invest further in the open source community, which has grown to more than 13,000 members, accelerate research and development in AI governance, expand go-to-market strategies, and enhance customer success capabilities. DataHub offers a real-time metadata platform designed to allow machines to engage with organisational data assets in a context-aware manner. The platform is currently in use by more than 3,000 organisations worldwide, including Apple, Chime, Foursquare, Netflix, Optum, Pinterest, and Slack. Over the past two years, the company has recorded a sixfold increase in sales of its enterprise managed service, DataHub Cloud. The platform supports various deployment options, from single-node to cloud-hosted, hybrid, and decentralised environments. DataHub CTO and co-founder Shirshanka Das said: "With the shift toward business-critical AI and customer-facing predictive applications, enterprises need robust metadata management to ensure AI systems can reliably work with data. "DataHub provides the context that AI systems need to understand data lineage, quality, and semantics—enabling organisations to unlock the full potential of their AI investments." The company has also announced a rebrand, dropping the "Acryl Data" label to be known solely as DataHub. This change, the company said, is intended to better align with its mission of creating metadata platforms for AI-ready data systems. "DataHub raises $35m to advance CMP development" was originally created and published by Verdict, a GlobalData owned brand. Boomi extends leadership streak in Gartner Quadrant for iPaaS
Boomi has been named a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) for the 11th consecutive year. This marks the longest leadership streak in the history of the report, which evaluates vendors based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute. The recognition reflects Boomi's recent focus on AI-driven integration, API management, and data management to help enterprises unify connections across their technology landscape. In recent months, Boomi has accelerated its investment in artificial intelligence capabilities. Among its latest advancements is the launch of Boomi Agentstudio, described by the company as the only full agent lifecycle management solution available. This platform supports the design, governance, and orchestration of AI agents at scale, which Boomi says can assist organisations in managing productivity and responsible AI adoption. Boomi has also enhanced its Application Programming Interface (API) management capabilities. The company states that its expanded API Management now provides cloud-scale oversight of APIs and addresses the growing problem of API sprawl across businesses. By introducing federated governance, Boomi aims to deliver improved security, visibility, and value for APIs throughout enterprises. Another significant update is the integration of Boomi Data Integration, previously known as Rivery, into its platform. This addition is intended to simplify the process for customers who need to integrate applications, data, APIs, and AI agents using a single unified solution. According to Boomi, this complements its existing DataHub capabilities, enhancing synchronisation and governance as the foundation for trusted data management. Boomi currently provides services to over 23,000 customers worldwide, including organisations such as LEGO, Tropicana, and Moderna. The company reports that these enterprises depend on Boomi to connect and automate their essential business applications and data processes. The company's partner network has experienced further expansion, with global system integrators, independent software vendors, and major cloud hyperscalers increasing their collaborations with Boomi. Recent agreements with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and ServiceNow are cited as avenues to enhance customer experiences, particularly through the use of AI-powered self-service solutions. Steve Lucas, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Boomi, commented on the achievement, stating: "As organisations continue their journey to becoming AI-driven enterprises, integration and automation have never been more critical." "I believe Boomi's continued recognition as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for iPaaS underscores our relentless focus on innovation and our commitment to enabling our customers and partners to achieve their digital transformation goals. We are honored to be a Leader in this category and remain dedicated to delivering the most advanced, AI-enabled automation platform on the market." The Gartner Magic Quadrant assessments are based on independent analyst evaluations. Gartner has included a disclaimer noting that it does not endorse any vendor, product or service depicted in its research publications, nor does it advise technology users to select only those vendors with the highest recognitions. The reports are described as the opinions of Gartner's research organisation and should not be construed as statements of fact. Gartner also disclaims all warranties, expressed or implied, regarding its research. Boomi was previously known as Dell Boomi in prior years between 2014 and 2019.

Memphis mayor responds to FBI director calling city ‘homicide capital of USA'
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Mayor Paul Young released a statement Monday, a day after the FBI director called the city the 'homicide capital of the USA.' During an appearance on a Sunday morning show, the Director of the FBI called Memphis the 'Homicide Capital of America.' 'We look forward to learning more from our federal law enforcement partners. Locally, we're already seeing results,' said Young. FBI Director calls Memphis 'homicide capital of the USA' The city's Data Hub reports 90 murders and homicides in Memphis this year as of May 19. Memphis Murder Map 2025 FBI Director Kash Patel addressed the rate on Fox News this weekend, saying the FBI is sending a task force to the city. 'I didn't know this until my confirmation process, but Memphis, Tennessee, is the homicide capital of America per capita – didn't know that, we have a problem there,' Patel said. 'We're now addressing it. We're rolling out one of our task forces to Tennessee.' Full Statement from Mayor Paul Young: MPD has always collaborated with federal agencies on addressing violent crime, and we're encouraged by any effort that brings more resources to Memphis. We look forward to learning more from our federal law enforcement partners. Locally, we're already seeing results. Through our recent Fugitive Task Force and other strategic operations, we've taken fugitives off the streets and disrupted gang activity across the city. With stronger collaboration and steady local leadership, we'll keep pushing forward to make every Memphis neighborhood safer. Senator Brent Taylor responded to Patel's claims on social media and said that he's happy to see Patel and the FBI take Memphis' crime surge seriously. 'With unwavering resolve, I'm fighting to #MakeMemphisMatter, showcasing our city's potential to my Senate colleagues,' said Taylor. 'With the Trump Administration's support, we're poised to tackle crime head-on, proving Memphis is a vibrant community worthy of investment and a brighter future.' This comes nearly a month after Memphis Police Chief CJ Davis called youth gun violence a catastrophic situation. At the time, the police department had responded to 28 homicides in 25 days. 'Last week, I had a meeting with the governor's office and talking about some initiatives that I think will help add ranks to the Memphis Police Department, and also in terms of perhaps a Crown consultant for, the state of Tennessee that would, make recommendations back to the state about what policies, laws that need to be changed and make those recommendations to us,' stated Taylor. Sen. Taylor said it's possible the FBI will reopen a field office in Memphis that moved to Nashville last year. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
