Meijer recalled Frederik's by Meijer Dark Chocolate Almonds because some of the chocolates might be dark chocolate-covered cashews. Most consumers would consider this a mere annoyance, but those with a cashew allergy, as Meijer's recall notice states, 'run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction' if they eat cashews. While both almonds and cashews are tree nuts, people can have a cashew allergy without having an almond allergy.
