BigBang's Daesung brings his solo concert to Singapore this August
Fans who missed his performance at last year's Yuewen Music Festival will be glad to know that powerhouse vocalist Daesung is returning to Singapore this August for one night only, as part of his D's Wave Asia Tour. The tour will also take him to Taipei, Macau, Hong Kong and Melbourne. The K-pop singer debuted in 2006 as a member of popular boy band BigBang, which shot to fame with chart-topping hits like Fantastic Baby, Bang Bang Bang and Loser. The band now comprises Daesung, T.O.P, Taeyang and G-Dragon, and is set to headline the Singapore Grand Prix Formula 1 in 2025. Daesung began his solo career in 2008 with Look At Me, Gwisun, a breakout single that quickly became a fan favourite. He went on to release his first solo EP, D's Wave, featuring a mix of soulful vocals and rock band-inspired arrangements in tracks such as Universe, Beautiful Life and Last Girl. South Korean singer Daesung last performed here at the Yuewen Music Festival at Sentosa's Siloso Beach in December 2024. - ST SINGAPORE: South Korean singer Daesung, a member of K-pop boy band BigBang, will be holding his first solo concert in the Lion City at the 6,700-seat Arena @ Expo on Aug 2. The show is part of the 36-year-old's D's Wave 2025 Asia tour, which kicked off in Seoul on April 26. It has made stops in cities such as Kuala Lumpur and Ho Chi Minh City and will travel to Taipei, Hong Kong and Kobe before arriving in Singapore. The Singapore show was announced on Daesung's Instagram and Facebook accounts on June 15. Ticketing details have not been announced. Daesung last performed here at the Yuewen Music Festival at Sentosa's Siloso Beach in December 2024, just before another performance by fellow BigBang member Taeyang. Dressed in a cream cardigan, Daesung performed a 25-minute set with five songs. He opened with Wings, from BigBang's EP Alive (2012), and followed up with Baby Don't Cry (2011) and Falling Slowly (2024). Next, he gave a preview of a then-unreleased number, Umbrella – which was subsequently released on April 8 – before closing with the crowd-pleaser Look At Me, Gwisun (2008). During that performance, he said: 'I know why the word 'sing' is part of Singapore. It is because you guys can sing so amazingly.' BigBang, which debuted as a quintet in 2006, made a comeback in 2022 as a trio comprising Daesung, Taeyang and leader G-Dragon. G-Dragon – who is on his Ubermensch world tour – is slated to be a headlining music act at the Formula One Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2025 on Oct 3. Taeyang concluded his The Light Year World Tour in February. Daesung of BigBang returns with one-night only solo concert in Singapore in August
Daesung, a member of South Korean boy band BigBang, will be holding a one-night only solo concert at the Arena at Singapore Expo on Aug 2 as part of his Asia tour titled D's Wave. The tour kicked off with a two-night concert in Seoul on Apr 26 and 27 and he has since performed in Ho Chi Minh City and Kuala Lumpur. The other cities on Daesung's tour include Taipei, Kobe, Hong Kong, Melbourne, Sydney, Macau and Yokohama. Official details such as ticket prices and sale dates for the upcoming Singapore concert have not been announced yet. Daesung last performed in Singapore in December at the Yuewen Music Festival at Siloso Beach Sentosa together with group mate Taeyang. Fellow BigBang member G-Dragon is set to perform in Singapore on Oct 3 as part of the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2025 entertainment line-up.
