In first round, over 1L get admissions

Indore: Over 1.35 lakh students across the state secured admissions in the first round of the ongoing online counselling for undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and NCTE-recognised teacher education courses conducted by the Department of Higher Education (DHE). The deadline for confirming admissions under this round ended on Wednesday. In comparison to last year's first round, which saw over 96,000 admissions, this year's figures show a significant rise. A total of 4.14 lakh students registered for first round of counselling for admission to 1,810 govt and private colleges across the state. "Over 1.35 lakh students confirmed their admissions by the deadline on Wednesday. We are not planning to extend the deadline. The percentage of admissions this year is better compared to previous years," Tulsiram Dahayat, OSD, DHE told TOI. Meanwhile, over 1 lakh students registered for the second round of counselling, the registration window for which also closed on Wednesday. The seat allotment for this round will be released on June 24. The students will have a window of five days for admissions confirmation from June 25 to June 30. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Total AV 2025 – Save Up to 80% Off Antivirus Today Total AV - Tier 2 Install Now Undo According to DHE officials, the switch to a mobile application for admission-related procedures played a key role in streamlining the process and enhancing accessibility. "This year, the admissions were done through a mobile app, which made the process easier for students. They did not have to visit kiosks or colleges. Help centres at govt colleges further supported students," Dahayat added. As per official data, over 70% of students completed the registration process through their mobile phones, highlighting the growing digital adoption in higher education enrolments. With no third round of centralized counselling scheduled this year, DHE will conduct College Level Counselling (CLC) following the second-round allotment. The CLC will begin on June 25, during which individual colleges will release merit lists and students will be required to register online for seats available at institutional level.

70% students allotted seat in UG, PG & NCTE courses

Indore: The Department of Higher Education (DHE), Madhya Pradesh, released the first round of seat allotment for undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and NCTE courses on Thursday late night. As per official figures, seats were allotted to over 70% of applicants in the first round. The list covers admissions across 775 govt and grant-in-aid colleges, along with 1,810 private unaided colleges in the state. A total of 4,14,415 applications were received this year, including 223,603 for UG courses, 86,360 for PG programmes, and 95,543 for (NCTE) courses. While the allotment process is now underway, many students are facing difficulties due to revised eligibility rules for PG courses. Under the new guidelines, students can only apply for PG specialisations in subjects they studied as major or minor during their undergraduate programme. This change particularly affected students from commerce and science backgrounds who were hoping to pursue humanities or social science-based master's degrees. Along with the allotment list, the department also issued important instructions for candidates. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 10 Signs Your Dog Loves You More Than Anything Liseer Read More Undo The instructions stated that if a student's name is on the merit list but no college was allotted, they will be allowed to revise their college preferences during the second round. If a student finds errors in their application, they can make corrections through their login or by visiting a designated help centre. "Students allotted their first-choice college will not be eligible for further rounds, irrespective of whether they pay the fee or not," said RK Goswami, OSD DHE. As per the admission guidelines, if a student is allotted a college and pays the fee, the admission will be considered provisionally confirmed. Failure to confirm the allotted seat in the given time-frame will result in the cancellation of all preferences. Except for NCTE courses, students can pay the fee online without visiting the college. The DHE has urged students to carefully follow the instructions to avoid disqualification from the upcoming rounds. Meanwhile, confusion over the new PG eligibility norms continues to impact thousands of students and many have already opted out of the admission process. As per the revised schedule, students allotted a seat in the first round will need to pay the admission fee between June 13 and 18. Registrations for the second round began on June 13 and continue until June 18, with document verification scheduled from June 14 to 19. The second allotment list will be published on June 24 and students can submit fees from June 25 to 30. Follow more information on Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad here . First seat allotment list for UG, PG, BEd, MEd courses delayed

Indore: The release of the first online seat allotment list for traditional undergraduate, postgraduate, and NCTE courses—including and for Thursday, was unexpectedly delayed, leaving thousands of students in uncertainty. Across the state, students eagerly waited for the allotment results to proceed with document verification and confirm their admissions. However, by the college closing time at 6 PM, no list was published. Many aspirants expressed frustration over the lack of updates, especially those who refreshed the portal throughout the day. "I kept checking the website since morning, but there was no clarity. This delay only adds to our anxiety," said Priya Soni, a aspirant from Indore. Officials from department of higher education (DHE) attributed the delay to technical reasons and said the list was being finalised and might be uploaded late Thursday night. The allotment list is now expected to be available by Friday morning. As per the revised schedule, students allotted a seat in the first round will need to pay the admission fee between June 13 and 18. Registrations for the second round will also begin on June 13 and continue until June 18, with document verification scheduled from June 14 to 19. The second allotment list will be published on June 24, and students can submit fees from June 25 to 30. This year's admission cycle has seen overwhelming participation. 95k apply for admissions in BEd, MEd courses against 58k seats

Indore: Admissions for BEd, MEd, BPEd, and MPEd courses across Madhya Pradesh saw a record-breaking response this year, with more than 95,000 registrations recorded for 58,000 seats available in the first round of admissions under the department of higher education (DHE). In Indore alone over 7000 applications were submitted. Officials now anticipate a significant rise in cut-off scores, especially for BEd, where the merit threshold may go up to 73-74%, compared to last year's 69-71%. With the registration and verification process for the first round now complete, the department of higher education is set to release the first allotment list on Thursday. Students, who will be allotted seats, will have to confirm admission and pay the fee between June 13 and 18. Despite two more rounds to follow, the first phase already witnessed over 83,000 locked registrations and 72,000 document verifications, making it the most competitive phase so far. BEd and MEd college association representatives have urged authorities to begin CLC (college level counselling) round early to ensure optimal seat utilisation. Last year, due to technical glitches, some seats remained vacant despite high demand. In total, 775 colleges across the state offer these teacher education programmes, with 69 affiliated to Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore. Undergraduate programmes such as BA, BCom, and BSc have also seen renewed interest, despite BBA and BCA courses being shifted under the department of technical education. Admission experts attribute the surge to increasing preference among students preparing for competitive exams like MPPSC , UPSC , and police services. City college administrators believe that if technical issues are addressed timely, no seats will remain vacant this year. The second round for UG, PG and teacher education courses will begin with fresh registrations from June 13 to 18, followed by document verification, allotment lists, and fee payment as per revised schedules.
