Dokii Dokii in Hyderabad serves Asian fusion food
A kitten chasing a heart is the theme of this new casual eatery in Jubilee Hills — animation in static frames, playful but not precious. Tired of hearing about the biggest new openings in Hyderabad? Dokii Dokii is where you go to chill with friends. No dress code, no cutlery pressure — sit however you like, even Uncle Roger-style (yes, the haiyaa guy). Dokii Dokii opened in May this year with a fresh look. Two colours dominate this eatery: Red and blue. This spacious eatery overlooks a garden, this makes all the difference. Dokii Dokii (or DD) serves Asian fusion fare — without claims of authenticity. As the team behind Hashi-Asian Bar & Kicthen, they have brought along signatures like sushi and dim sum, but the mood here is more relaxed. The name is a play on doki doki, a Japanese onomatopoeia for a racing heartbeat. The laid-back vibe felt like an invitation to begin lunch with a drink. The menu lists boba teas and a range of zero-alcohol cocktails. I have always meant to try a sober cocktail, and finally did: the Sober Gin Garden Party, made with elderflower and cucumber, topped with a passionfruit foam. The botanicals in the zero-gin are convincing — you will not miss the alcohol unless hangovers are your morning ritual. This one gets the nod. I skipped the sushi, dim sum, cheesy K-pop (golden potato bites with gooey mozzarella and tangy kimchi), and chilli crunch potatoes (crispy fries in Sichuan pepper sauce), and instead listed two other appetisers for lunch: the Midori Frost and the Burrata Snow. The Burrata Snow is DD's self-proclaimed couture salad — creamy burrata on a bed of rocket, topped with tomato 'snow', which is essentially a tomato-flavoured ice gola. It is a clever, crowd-pleasing dish. Then came the Bangkok to Busan Fries, an Asian-style take served with garlic-lime mayo. The fries come in three options — spicy buldak, Chinese five-spice, and Thai basil. I went with the buldak — spicy with a hit of garlic. The Midori Frost is paper-thin green apple slices in a citrus dressing, topped with lemon sorbet. Crisp, clean, and vaguely magical — a refreshing contrast to the richer dishes. DD also offers Seoul pickles, their version of assorted banchan — Korean-style side pickles. A tad too sour perhaps, but thankfully not ketchup-pickled vegetarian fare. The sides had me full, but I still made space for the kimchi chicken fried rice. At this point I thought I should also try the Ramen that came with the perfect jammy egg. What didn't work with me are the Korean fried wings. I found it too salty. A meal for two at Dokii Dokii in Jubilee Hills is approximately 2000(plus taxes?)

"There Were Poisonous Characters In That Side": AB de Villiers On His Former IPL Team
An icon in the Indian Premier League (IPL), AB de Villiers produced quite a few magical performances in the T20 league, particularly for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, the batter first started his career in the IPL with the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2008. Though it was for the Bengaluru side that the South African really made a name for himself, his Delhi days are often overlooked. De Villiers couldn't perform for DD the way he did for RCB, and the reason behind this change finally seems to be out. In a candid chat, De Villiers claimed that there were many 'poisonous characters' in the DD side when he played for them. Though the former South Africa captain didn't take names, he said that the 'poisonous characters' sort of ruined the fact that he also got to play with legends like Glenn McGrath and Daniel Vettori in the team. "I would hate to give you names. Burning people, you know. But the Delhi Daredevils were in shambles. I mean, it was. There were lots of poisonous characters in that side," de Villiers said in a chat with "Lots of legends. So it's such a bittersweet moment for me because I speak... I remember it fondly. And some of the highlights of my life and career was there, spending time with Glenn McGrath and Daniel Vettori." "That's where we got close. But these guys were my heroes and I was so scared of them growing up," he added. "Like McGrath. I mean, I played against him in 2006 in a Test match and I could hardly breathe, literally, and never spoke a word to him. And then in the next minute, I'm sitting here in 2008 and he sits next to me and goes, I like the way you play. I'm like, what's going on there?"

Watch: Comedy Of Errors In TNPL! Ashwin's Throw Leads To 3 Overthrow Runs
Last Updated: Dindigul Dragons defeated Madurai Panthers in TNPL 2025 despite a comedy of errors in the field. The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2025 clash between Dindigul Dragons (DD) and Madurai Panthers (MP) at the SCF Cricket Ground in Salem on Saturday witnessed a comedy of errors with multiple overthrows. The DD fielders made multiple mistakes, missing multiple chances to run the batters out. In the final over, with Gurjapneet Singh and S. Rajalingam at the crease, Ravichandran Ashwin easily fielded a shot towards extra cover. His throw at the bowler's end missed the stumps with the bowler not backing up. The batters completed a second run as the ensuing overthrow was retrieved and thrown towards wicketkeeper Baba Indrajith, who also failed to gather. The batters got a third run from another errant throw back to the bowler. WATCH: Earlier, Dindigul Dragons' skipper R Ashwin won the toss and chose to field. The Madurai Panthers posted 150/8, with Atheeq Ur Rahman leading their innings with 50 off 41 balls. Opener Balachander Anirudh contributed a useful 31 off 24 deliveries. 'Don't know how I survived': Vishwaskumar Ramesh, lone survivor in Air India crash, says he crawled out of shattered fuselage just in time
Viswashkumar Ramesh, the sole survivor of the Air India crash in Ahmedabad, recounted the horrifying moments before the plane crashed shortly after takeoff, killing 241 onboard and several on the ground. NEW DELHI: Viswashkumar Ramesh, the lone survivor of the Ahmedabad-London Air India crash , said in an exclusive interview to DD News on Friday that he 'doesn't know how' he made it out alive. Recounting the harrowing moments from his hospital bed at Ahmedabad Civil, Ramesh said he felt the aircraft wasn't gaining altitude and was 'just gliding' before it slammed into a building and exploded. 'Everything happened in seconds. I realised we were going down.' he said. Ramesh, a 40-year-old British citizen of Indian origin, was seated by the window in seat 11A. He told DD that the side of the aircraft he was on had sustained some damage, and he noticed a gap in the fuselage near him after the crash. 'I used my leg to push through that opening, opened my seat belt and somehow crawled out,' he said. 'Everyone around me was either dead or dying. I still don't understand how I escaped.' Video clips from the crash site showed him stumbling out, bloodied and dazed, screaming in Gujarati, 'Plane fatyo che!' (The plane exploded). Earlier, his cousin Dhirendra Somabhai had said Ramesh told him he jumped out through a door after the impact and blacked out shortly after. The full account, now confirmed by Ramesh himself, points to a narrow chance of survival — the crash impact tore the Dreamliner's body apart and sent flames racing through the mid-section. The area where Ramesh was seated suffered lesser damage in the initial blast, offering him what appears to be the only exit route. His brother, Ajaykumar Ramesh, seated across the aisle in 11J, is among the 241 confirmed dead. Ramesh and Ajaykumar were among 15 passengers from Diu district onboard Air India flight AI-171, which plummeted just seconds after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Thursday afternoon. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, flying to London Gatwick, crashed into the BJ Medical College hostel mess block in Meghaninagar, killing all but one onboard and several on the ground. From his hospital bed in Ward B7, Ramesh repeated just one thing to every official and relative who tried to speak with him: 'Where is my brother?' According to family friend Ayub Mansuri, who drove the brothers to the airport that morning, Ramesh managed to make three brief phone calls after the crash before his phone went dead. 'He kept crying and asking for Ajay. He has head injuries, burns, but somehow walked out of that wreckage.' Around 2.30pm on Thursday, security officials sealed the hospital ward after identifying Ramesh as the lone survivor. Gujarat ATS and Ahmedabad Crime Branch officers have since restricted access to ensure his safety and assist in the investigation. Diu ADM Vivek Kumar confirmed: 'Of the 15 people from our region, only one survived. A team has left for Ahmedabad.' The AI-171 crash is India's deadliest aviation disaster involving a single aircraft. Experts suspect a dual engine failure or bird hit soon after takeoff. Captain Sumeet Sabharwal issued a brief 'Mayday' call to ATC before the Dreamliner lost altitude, plunged into the hostel block, and exploded in a fireball — all within 34 seconds of takeoff. The flight had 242 passengers and crew onboard. At least four doctors and a pregnant woman on the college campus also died when the aircraft crashed into their residential quarters and mess.
