CUET PG merit list released, choice filling begins today

Indore: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) on Thursday announced the merit list for postgraduate admissions based on CUET-PG 2025 scores. Students who registered for PG admissions at DAVV through CUET PG can now check their merit rank on the university's website. The choice filling process will begin from June 13 to June 19. "Students can view their merit status and proceed with course preferences," said Prof Rajesh Sharma, Chairman, CUET PG Admissions at DAVV. The choice filling involves selecting and prioritising programmes across departments and locking preferences before the deadline to be eligible for allotment. Despite a record 86,000 students selecting DAVV as their preferred institution during the CUET-PG registration process—more than double last year's figure—the university received just over 1,500 registrations for its 1,450 PG seats, raising concern among the admissions committee. Sharma attributed this to confusion over subject mapping: "Many students only appeared for their core subject exams, skipping required tests like general knowledge and mathematics, which limited their eligibility. " As per the official counselling schedule, the first round of seat allotment will be announced on June 24. Students allotted seats will have to report for document verification between June 30 and July 2, followed by online fee submission from June 30 to July 6.. 95k apply for admissions in BEd, MEd courses against 58k seats

Indore: Admissions for BEd, MEd, BPEd, and MPEd courses across Madhya Pradesh saw a record-breaking response this year, with more than 95,000 registrations recorded for 58,000 seats available in the first round of admissions under the department of higher education (DHE). In Indore alone over 7000 applications were submitted. Officials now anticipate a significant rise in cut-off scores, especially for BEd, where the merit threshold may go up to 73-74%, compared to last year's 69-71%. With the registration and verification process for the first round now complete, the department of higher education is set to release the first allotment list on Thursday. Students, who will be allotted seats, will have to confirm admission and pay the fee between June 13 and 18. Despite two more rounds to follow, the first phase already witnessed over 83,000 locked registrations and 72,000 document verifications, making it the most competitive phase so far. BEd and MEd college association representatives have urged authorities to begin CLC (college level counselling) round early to ensure optimal seat utilisation. Last year, due to technical glitches, some seats remained vacant despite high demand. In total, 775 colleges across the state offer these teacher education programmes, with 69 affiliated to Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore. Undergraduate programmes such as BA, BCom, and BSc have also seen renewed interest, despite BBA and BCA courses being shifted under the department of technical education. Admission experts attribute the surge to increasing preference among students preparing for competitive exams like MPPSC , UPSC , and police services. City college administrators believe that if technical issues are addressed timely, no seats will remain vacant this year. The second round for UG, PG and teacher education courses will begin with fresh registrations from June 13 to 18, followed by document verification, allotment lists, and fee payment as per revised schedules.

Applications less than non-CUET seats

Indore: The admission counselling process for Non-CUET courses offered by Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) commenced on Tuesday across various teaching departments. The week-long counselling will determine admissions for 108 postgraduate and undergraduate programmes across 30 departments. Despite the availability of 3,283 seats, the university received only 1,514 applications—less than half the number of seats available. Out of the total registrations, 1,359 applications are for UG and PG courses, 103 are for MTech programmes, and 52 are for MBA executive. The counselling for all MTech programmes at the School of Computer Science is being conducted collectively. According to Dr BK Tripathi, Chairman of the Non-CUET Admission Committee at DAVV, counselling will proceed as scheduled across all departments, and admissions will be strictly based on merit. "The counselling is being done at the department level. The students who registered for the counselling are reporting to the respective departments for admissions. If seats remain vacant after this round of admissions, students can directly contact the departments and enquire about seat vacancy," added Tripathi. While several courses received more applications than available seats and will thus admit students based on merit, many others still have vacant positions.

DAVV PG admission draws low registrations

Indore: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) closed registrations for PG admissions through CUET-PG scores on Thursday, but the unexpectedly low number of applications raised serious concerns. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Against 1,450 available seats, the university received just over 1,500 registrations—despite a record 86,000 candidates selecting DAVV courses as their preference during the CUET-PG application process. The stark contrast between the number of students who initially showed interest and those who ultimately registered left the university administration puzzled. This is especially surprising considering the rising demand for certain courses like MBA (Finance), MBA (Marketing), and MBA (Business Economics), which consistently attracted aspirants in recent years. However, demand for several other courses appears to have dropped significantly. This year marks DAVV's first attempt at conducting PG counselling entirely online. The university will release the first seat allotment list on June 24. Students allotted seats must report to the campus between June 30 and July 2 to verify documents and submit fees. Despite low registrations, the varsity is not planning to extend the deadline for registrations. "We will not be extending the deadline now as the online counselling schedule will be hampered," said DAVV admissions committee member, Dr Yogendra Bawal. The admission process will now move to the merit list preparation stage, which will take place from June 6 to 10, followed by the release of the list on June 12. Students can complete online choice filling from June 13 to 19. Despite CUET-PG 2025 seeing a nationwide surge in participation—with 6.55 lakh applicants—DAVV's low turnout is being viewed as part of a wider trend where non-CUET courses have also seen fewer students opting for admission. Experts believe this may reflect broader shifts in student preferences or confusion around the online counselling process. Notably, last year only 42,000 students selected DAVV through CUET-PG, compared to 86,000 this year. The university anticipated tough competition, but the actual figures fell far short of expectations. DAVV offers 24 PG courses across more than 10 teaching departments, including sought-after programs like MA Clinical Psychology, Sociology, and Political Science.

PhD seats reduced as DAVV excludes 58 guides for incomplete documentation

Indore: DAVV significantly reduced the number of available PhD seats for the upcoming admission cycle after excluding 58 faculty guides for failing to complete the required documentation. The total number of seats under the non-DET (Doctoral Entrance Test exempted) category dropped from 524 to 336, marking a reduction of 188 seats. The university administration found that several guides did not upload appointment-related documents under College Code 28, making it unclear whether they are Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, or Professors. Additionally, some guides did not follow the prescribed format for submitting documents. As per UGC norms, Professors can guide up to eight scholars, Associate Professors six, and Assistant Professors four. Since seat allocation is linked to the rank of the guide, incomplete records led to their removal. Most of the excluded guides belonged to the Commerce and Management faculties. DAVV provided a final seven-day window for these guides to submit the necessary documents. If they fulfil the requirements within this period, their names may be added to the final list. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Dieses Hörgerät kann 2025 alles verändern Gutes Hören Undo PhD cell in-charge Dr Ashesh Tiwari said that only guides who comply fully with the documentation process and eligibility norms will be included. The university is committed to following due process to maintain the transparency and credibility of PhD admissions. Competition among PhD aspirants remains intense. As of the May 30 application deadline, more than 530 candidates applied for the 336 non-DET seats across 22 subjects. For DET (Doctoral Entrance Test) subjects, particularly in engineering, 89 seats are available across 10 subjects, with applications already exceeding double the number of available seats. The entrance examination for DET subjects is scheduled for June 16. Senior educationists said that Management and Commerce continue to receive the highest number of applications, and the reduction in guides has had a notable impact on these popular subjects.
