Fans can't get over how much Ava Phillippe's boyfriend looks like her father
Ava Phillippe will never live down the comparisons — and neither will her boyfriend. The 25-year-old daughter of actors Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe has made plenty of headlines through the years due to her striking resemblance to her iconic mother and father. But now fans are bringing her boyfriend, Dakota Brubaker, into the mix. Ava Phillippe and Brubaker, a musician who goes by the stage name Vindigo, went Instagram official in December after previously teasing their relationship several months prior. On June 10, Ava Phillippe posted a TikTok video of her and Brubaker lip syncing to Ke$ha's hit song, 'Your Love Is My Drug.' And it didn't take long for the 16-second clip to go viral. 'Close enough. Welcome back Reese & Ryan!' one fan wrote in the comment section. Fans were quick to point out how much Ava Phillippe looked like a '50-50 match' of her parents, but others were more focused on how much Brubaker resembled her father. 'Thought it was her dad for a split second,' one fan wrote, while another commented, 'Reese and Ryan is that you?' On June 11, Ava Phillippe returned to TikTok with a hilarious reaction to the comparisons. In the video, Ava Phillippe is standing in the kitchen when her boyfriend slides into frame wearing a black turtleneck and reading glasses — recreating her parents' look when they co-starred in 'Cruel Intentions.' 'You guys… whaaaaattt,' she wrote in the caption, while mouthing 'No, no, no, no,' in the video. The video was also set to The Verve's 'Bitter Sweet Symphony,' which was the song that played at the end of her parents' iconic movie, released in 1999. 'This song choice is DIABOLICAL,' one fan wrote in the comments, while another added, 'Not the turtle neck too.' Ryan Phillippe and Witherspoon met in 1997 at the latter's 21st birthday party, according to People. They quickly became one of Hollywood's biggest 'it' couples after announcing their engagement in 1998 and co-starred in 'Cruel Intentions' the following year, which officially put them on the map. The couple married in June 1999 and welcomed their first child (a daughter named Ava) in September of that year — six months after the premiere of 'Cruel Intentions.' 'I mean… technically you were IN Cruel Intentions…' one fan commented under Ava Phillippe's recent TikTok. Ryan Phillippe and Witherspoon welcomed a second child, a son named Deacon, in October 2003 before separating in 2006 and finalizing their divorce in 2008. Witherspoon has since welcomed a second son, Tennessee James, with her other ex-husband Jim Toth, whom she announced her divorce from in 2023. Meanwhile, Ryan Phillippe shares a second daughter, Kai, with his ex-girlfriend Alexis Knapp.

Selma Blair reveals the MS symptoms doctors dismissed since she was a kid: ‘It took me 30 years to get an MRI'
The world learned about Selma Blair's multiple sclerosis diagnosis nearly seven years ago — but the autoimmune disease has been tormenting her for most of her life. The 'Cruel Intentions' actress, now 52, can trace early symptoms back to her childhood, but claims doctors brushed off the red flags for decades. 'It took me 30 years to get an MRI,' Blair said last week during a panel at the second annual Women's Health Lab, hosted in partnership with Northwell Health's Katz Institute for Women's Health. Getty Images for Glamour At the age of 7, Blair lost control of her bladder and use of her right eye and left leg — yet, after ruling out cancer, doctors and family branded her an attention seeker. What they missed: Juvenile MS, a debilitating disease that affects the central nervous system by disrupting the flow of information within the brain and between the brain and body. 'If you're a boy with those symptoms, you get an MRI. If you're a girl, you're called 'crazy',' Blair told British Vogue in 2023. Advertisement As a child, the 'Hellboy' actress would wake up laughing uncontrollably in the middle of the night. Decades later, those laughs gave way to sudden, uncontrollable spells of sobbing. 'I just thought I was a hugely emotional person,' Blair said. In reality, MS had damaged her frontal lobe — like a brain injury. Advertisement 'I felt like people thought it had to be some tragic thing, but I was like, 'No, you don't understand,'' she said. 'I was feeling tragic inside before.' Blair, who shares 13-year-old son Arthur with ex Jason Bleick, said she often wondered what was 'wrong' with her before the diagnosis. 'I just did not understand how I was so different from people, but yet totally kind of fine-ish,' she told the outlet. 'I finally just felt seen.' Nearly 1 million Americans have been diagnosed with MS, according to the National MS Society. The disease can affect anyone, including children. You may be at higher risk if you're female, between 20 and 40, and of Northern European descent, per the Cleveland Clinic. 3 'If you're a boy with those symptoms, you get an MRI. If you're a girl, you're called 'crazy',' Blair said. Getty Images Doctors don't know exactly what causes MS, but research suggests that factors like smoking, childhood obesity, low vitamin D levels and genetics could be possible triggers. Advertisement Exposure to toxins like secondhand smoke and pesticides — as well as viruses such as Epstein-Barr or mono — may also increase the risk. Early warning signs of the MS include blurred vision, muscle weakness and numbness. As the disease progresses, symptoms can range from fatigue and dizziness to trouble with balance, bladder control, mood swings, muscle stiffness, and cognitive issues like memory and concentration problems. Many patients experiencing periods of remission where signs of the disease fade. While there is no cure, treatments can help manage symptoms and reduce flare-ups. Advertisement Last year, Blair revealed she suffered a major relapse after a stem cell transplant — but she's now in remission thanks to a new provider. Her doctor — the first woman she's ever been treated by — took a holistic approach, including factoring in the actresses early menopause. 'It really did change my life completely,' Blair said at the Women's Health Lab panel. 'We found a way to manage my MS and I am doing really, really well right now.'

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson cast as dark guru in new thriller
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has been cast as a morally questionable guru in 'Breakthrough'. The WWE legend turned Hollywood megastar is continuing his working relationship with A24 after MMA drama 'The Smashing Machine' with another new project. As reported by Deadline, Johnson has been cast in a new phycological thriller penned by up-and-coming writer Zeke Goodman. The film will be set in Southern California at the turn of the millennium, with an alienated young man finding himself being influenced by a motivational guru, played by The Rock. The guru is charming, but it's simply a front to hide his "manipulation" and "concealed darkness". While Johnson is said to have been cast, the lead character and other supporting roles are yet to be decided. A24 withh produce and finance the movie, along with Stacey Sher's Shiny Penny Productions, and Johnson's own Seven Bucks Productions. Writer Goodman rose to fame in Amazon's 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' and 'Cruel Intentions' reboots, while a director is yet to be attached. Although 'The Smashing Machine' and 'Breakthrough' mark a departure for Johnson, he previously admitted voicing demi-god Maui in Disney's 'Moana' film series was "life changing". Asked what Maui means to him, he told Britain's HELLO! magazine: 'So much. Getting to play Maui has been life changing for me. 'The experience over these two movies goes way deeper than any other character I've played 'This is my culture. He is part of me. 'The character of Maui is actually inspired by grandfather, who was High Chief Peter Maivia. It means so much to me.' And the former wrestler finds fans often want to talk to him about the Disney saga – and try and persuade him to sing his signature song from 'Moana'. He said: 'You might not see my face, but there is something about this character that connects with people. 'I'm grateful to have been part of some big projects over the years, but I can honestly say that, more than 'Jumanji', more than 'Rampage' or 'Jungle Cruise', any of those, the one thing that blows people's minds is that I'm the guy who sings 'You're Welcome'. 'I've been asked to sing that song in all kinds of places.' Dwayne will also play Maui in a live-action remake of 'Moana' and he is very 'excited' about the film. He said: 'I'm so excited about it. It's the 'Moana' story we all love, but it's live-action this time. 'I can't say too much, but we have the amazing Tommy Kail directing and it's the music of Lin-Manuel Miranda. 'It's a very special celebration of an incredible story that resonates with everybody around the world.'

Ryan Phillippe reveals how son Deacon ended up on his new show — playing his brother
Like father, like son. Ryan Phillippe's new role on Prime Video's 'Motorheads' turned into a family affair — as his son, Deacon Phillippe, 21, plays his brother onscreen. 'It was the showrunner's idea, John A. Norris,' Ryan, 50, exclusively told The Post. Advertisement 'He came up to me and said, 'We're thinking about offering the role of Christian in flashbacks to your son.' I was like, 'wow.' 'We didn't have scenes together, but he was playing my brother. 'I was there for his first night shoot, watching him be bleary-eyed at three in the morning,' he recalled. He didn't get to see his family as much, so it was 'gratifying for me to have [Deacon] come up off and on throughout the production,' he explained. 'And just to get to spend that time together.' Deacon is currently enrolled at New York University. 'Things change once your kids get older and move out,' the 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' star said. The 'Cruel Intentions' actress, 52, was diagnosed with the debilitating disease — which affects the central nervous system by disrupting the flow of information within the brain and between the brain and body — in August 2018. '[I was] thrilled,' Blair told People of the autoimmune disease. 'It's so funny. The 'Legally Blonde' alum said she would ask herself how people would go on with their daily routines with ease. 'I finally just felt seen. I kind of joke like, wait, there's receipts. This validates this vision here, this validates this or this or this, that people wouldn't really see because with relapsing MS, it can go away. It can relapse.' 'It's like relapse remitting, so it can relapse and it can remit, and so as a kid you'd get something checked and then you'd go back [and] it's not quite there, but you're left with the shadow of it,' she added.
