Carrickfergus: Child taken to hospital after water incident at marina
A child has been taken to hospital after a water related incident near the Carrickfergus Marina in County incident involved nine children and an adult. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, Fire and Rescue Service, and the Maritime and Coastguard attended the assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken by ambulance to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick rest were discharged at the scene.

Rory McIlroy hoping to travel well in Connecticut as The Open looms
Rory McIlroy hopes this week's Travelers Championship proves less of a grind as the Masters champion looks to get back into the groove ahead of The Open. It has not been the smoothest of returns to action for the Northern Irishman following his Augusta triumph in April, which completed a long-awaited career Grand Slam. It was also tough going for McIlroy at the US Open over a punishing Oakmont course, where he battled to make it into the weekend before eventually tying for 19th. McIlroy, though, played his best golf of the week during Sunday's final round, where his three-under-par 67 was the joint best of the day. After playing at the Travelers Championship in Hartford, Connecticut, McIlroy will head back to the UK for a break before the Scottish Open and then mount his challenge for another Open crown at Royal Portrush in County Antrim. 'After a week like I had at Oakmont, where you are not quite in the mix but you might feel you find something in your game, you are excited to come back and play again. 'This is the perfect sort of chaser for what Oakmont was last week, and nice to get out on a golf course where you feel you can make quite a few birdies.' Bushmills: Police treat 'sledgehammer' burglary as race hate crime
Police are treating a burglary at a restaurant in County Antrim as a racially-motivated hate crime. Three masked individuals used sledgehammers to damage the front door of the premises in Bushmills on Wednesday morning. They then caused further damage said they received a report at 02:25 BST of the incident. It is not believed that anything was taken. No one was inside the premises at the time. The police remain at the scene and are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Girl, 13, charged with rioting over Ballymena disorder
A 13-year-old girl has been charged with rioting over disorder that broke out in Northern Ireland last week. Ballymena and other nearby areas saw five consecutive nights of violence after an alleged sexual assault of a girl in the County Antrim town. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said five more people have been arrested in connection with the disorder - bringing the total number to 29. The latest arrests include the 13-year-old girl who has been charged with rioting over the third night of disorder in Ballymena last Wednesday. A 33-year-old woman has also been charged with child cruelty relating to the disorder. A 25-year-old man has been detained in connection with an arson attack on Larne Leisure Centre, which was significantly damaged. He was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life. A 40-year-old man has been charged with rioting on 9 June - the first night of disorder. Meanwhile, a 32-year-old man has been charged with sending menacing messages through a public electronic communications network, and with encouraging or assisting offences, believing one or more will be committed. He was further charged with possession of a Class B controlled drug. The violent disorder began in Ballymena last Monday following a peaceful protest supporting the family of a girl who was allegedly sexually assaulted in the area. 1:25 Two 14-year-old boys, who spoke to a court through a Romanian interpreter, have been charged with attempted rape. The disturbances continued for several nights and spread to other areas of Northern Ireland including Portadown, Larne, Belfast, Carrickfergus, Londonderry and Coleraine. Assistant Chief Constable Melanie Jones said "thankfully, similar to Saturday, the situation was much calmer" in Northern Ireland on Sunday night.
