Madonna Announces A New Album Dropping Next Month
Madonna announces Veronica Electronica, a remix album of Ray of Light era tracks, arriving July 25 ... More and led by 'Skin (The Collaboration Remix Edit).' NEW YORK, NEW YORK - MAY 05: Madonna attends the 2025 Met Gala Celebrating "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" at Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 05, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Kevin Mazur/MG25/Getty Images for The Met Museum/Vogue) For several months now, Madonna has been teasing the next chapter of her musical career. The superstar revealed on social media not long ago that she's working on a follow-up to her album Confessions on a Dance Floor, which she is currently referring to as Confessions 2. There's no word yet on when fans will get to hear anything from that project. But they won't have to wait long before they can listen to new tunes from the icon, as she has announced a completely separate full-length that's set to arrive in only a few weeks. Madonna has announced a new album titled Veronica Electronica. The full-length remix set is expected to drop on July 25. The first tune from the project, "Skin (The Collaboration Remix Edit)," was shared at the time of the announcement. Veronica Electronica features seven previously unreleased and rare remixes of songs from her album Ray of Light. The tracklist includes smashes like "Frozen," "Nothing Really Matters," and, of course, the title track, as well as several other cuts. Fans who pick up a copy of the album will also be treated to a never-before-shared demo of the song "Gone, Gone, Gone," which wasn't originally featured on Ray of Light. According to a press release announcing Veronica Electronica, the album was apparently conceived back in 1998 during her Ray of Light era. When the full-length took off and became hugely successful—perhaps more so than some in her camp were expecting—the remixes were put aside and never revisited until now, more than a quarter-century later. It's now been almost six years since Madonna released a new studio full-length. Madame X, her fourteenth project, dropped in the summer of 2019. The Grammy winner has reportedly already played Confessions 2 for some people, but when it comes to the general public, she's remaining quiet about the set. Madonna is also currently busy prepping a Netflix miniseries about her life, which was once meant to be a feature-length film, but which appears to have shifted mediums, perhaps in order to fit more story in.

Madonna's Life Is Coming To The Small Screen — And Her Music Is Back On The Charts
Madonna's 'Erotica' and 'Like a Prayer' return to U.K. charts amid excitement over her new album ... More Confessions 2 and a just-announced Netflix miniseries. RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - MAY 04: Madonna performs onstage during "The Celebration Tour: at Copacabana beach on May 04, 2024 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. (Photo by Kevin Mazur/WireImage for Live Nation) There's a lot of excitement around Madonna at the moment. In the first half of 2025, she began teasing that she is working on a new album, and there are even reports that she has played it for some people. There's no word yet on when Confessions 2 — apparently a sequel to her Grammy-winning Confessions on a Dance Floor — will arrive, but the mere mention that she is back in the studio is thrilling to many of her longtime fans. A new Netflix miniseries around her life has also recently been announced. Again, there isn't a solid timeline, and hopefully this doesn't end up like her feature film, which went through several starts and stops and may now be dead in the water as she pivots to a series. Amidst all of this excitement, fans in the United Kingdom have also recently returned to buying some of Madonna's biggest hits — the ones that turned her into the global superstar she is today — sending multiple cuts back to different tallies as they keep buying in various formats. Two of Madonna's songs appear on the charts in the U.K. at the moment. There's no overlap in terms of which rankings they appear on, and both of them only find space on one list apiece. Between the two, 'Erotica' is the top performer. That track reenters the Official Physical Singles chart at No. 75. The cut debuted on the list in 2017 and was last seen in the second-to-last position in December. 'Like a Prayer' is also a bestseller again, but only barely this frame. It breaks back onto the Official Singles Downloads chart at No. 97. The classic only debuted on that tally in May of last year and was a consistent bestseller for months. It's only been a few weeks since 'Like a Prayer' last appeared on the downloads-only list. Both 'Erotica' and 'Like a Prayer' have reached the top 10 on their respective tallies, but neither one has hit No. 1, despite ranking among her most familiar tunes. Coincidentally, the two have spent exactly 36 weeks each on the rosters where they currently reside. Of course, the tracks have been around for decades and are still relatively new to these rosters, but they enjoyed major success on the Official Singles chart — the ranking of the most-consumed songs in the nation — many years before they debuted on either of these two lists. Madonna also enjoys a similar performance on the albums rankings, as two projects appear on one list apiece. The Immaculate Collection jumps almost 50 spaces on the Official Album Downloads chart, surging from No. 93 to No. 47. At the same time, Finally Enough Love drops just four spots to No. 96 on the Official Albums Streaming tally.

Madonna's Decades-Old Single Debuts On Several Charts At Once
Madonna has been teasing the next chapter of her music career recently. She has stated publicly that she's working on a project tentatively titled, at least according to her own statements, Confessions 2. Though that likely won't be the actual name of an album, she's back at work on a collection that will surely dance-pop tunes alongside Stuart Price, who helmed the original Confessions on a Dance Floor. As the world waits to hear what Madonna has been cooking up in the studio, one of her oldest singles becomes a hit once more. 'Live to Tell' debuts on a pair of charts in the United Kingdom this week. The track, which is nearing its fortieth birthday, opens at No. 50 on the Official Singles Downloads chart, right in the middle of the list of the most-downloaded tunes throughout the country. The same cut opens just a few spaces below that spot on the Official Singles Sales list, where competition is just slightly more intense. On that tally, which includes purchases of individual songs via any medium, including vinyl, CD, and cassette, as well as downloads, 'Live to Tell' opens at No. 52. While 'Live to Tell' is decades old, both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts did not exist when the tune was new. That's not to say that it wasn't a hit, however. The track opened her third full-length, True Blue, and it was released in the spring of 1986. 'Live to Tell' rose all the way to No. 2 on the Official Singles chart in the United Kingdom. It launched at No. 10 and spent a handful of frames inside that loftiest tier before falling away. It has not been seen on a U.K. ranking since then, so this comeback and debut is especially notable. 'Live to Tell' is reaching new audiences via TikTok as it goes viral, thanks to a trend that sees people remembering the tune and sharing how it has impacted them. Only people of a certain age have the connection to the Madonna cut, but it seems that even younger users are getting in on the fun. As 'Live to Tell' debuts, another one of Madonna's earlier smashes, 'Like a Prayer,' is still a hit in the U.K. This time around, it rises from No. 98 to No. 79 on the Official Singles Downloads chart. It also reenters the Official Singles Sales list at No. 84.

Madonna Confirms ‘Confessions' Sequel Is on the Way
A new Madonna album is on the way. The legendary performer confirmed on social media Thursday that she's working on Confessions 2, the follow up to her 2005 Confessions On a Dance Floor. 'My Valentine's Day gift to all my fans is to let you know I'm putting my heart and soul into my new music and I can't wait to share it with you!!,' the singer wrote in an Instagram post accompanied by the Confessions track 'Future Lovers.' She didn't share any details about a potential release date. Confessions on a Dance Floor, which turns 20 in November, won a Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic album in 2007. Madonna was also teasing new music at the end of last year, confirming on social media that she was in the studio with Confessions producer Stuart Price, saying that 'these past few months [have] been medicine for my SOUL.' While Madonna didn't confirm Price's involvement in Confessions 2, it's certainly likely. New music from Madonna is fitting given that the Queen of Pop wrapped her year-long Celebration tour last year, freeing up her busy schedule. Outside of her music, Madonna delivered a surprise stand-up comedy set in New York last month, with Amy Schumer bringing her to the club. She's also been particularly vocal about her displeasure over President Donald Trump's administration, writing last month that the 'new Government is slowly dismantling all the Freedoms we have been fighting for and WON over the years.' She urged, 'Don't give up the fight.' Best of Rolling Stone The 50 Greatest Eminem Songs All 274 of Taylor Swift's Songs, Ranked The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time
