I enjoy working in airports but I'm always a bit more distracted and today I screwed up my second guess. MUSIC left me with 80 words and eliminated the 'C' which I promptly used in CRATE for my second guess. So annoying! Still, this cut my possible solutions down to just four and I got lucky when I guessed HABIT for the win. I'll take a sloppy win! Today's Wordle Bot In spite of my screw-up, I still beat the Bot today. I get 1 point for guessing in three and another for beating the Bot. The Bot gets 0 for guessing in four and -1 for losing to me. Once a narrow race, our May tally ends with a pretty resounding victory for your humble narrator: Erik: 24 points Wordle Bot: 14 points The word habit comes from the Latin habitus, meaning "condition, appearance, dress," which itself is from habere, meaning "to have" or "to hold." It entered English via Old French habit, initially referring to clothing or attire, and later came to mean a customary practice or behavior. CREAM was bad, leaving me with 423 words and not a single yellow or green box. I guess cream with your coffee but not with your Wordle. SHOUT slashed that number down to just five, ironically enough, and had I known that at the time maybe I would have guessed FIFTH instead of FILTH. I hate to guess double letters, however, though I wish I had today. Still, it at least I got FIFTH on my fourth guess and not my FIFTH . . . . Today's Wordle Bot Credit: Erik Kain I get 0 points for guessing in four and -1 for losing to the Bot. That's -2 with 2XP Friday. The Bot gets 1 point for guessing in three and another for beating me. That's 4 with 2XP Friday. Today's ‘Wordle' #1399 Hints, Clues And Answer For Friday, April 18th

How to solve today's Wordle. Looking for Thursday's Wordle hints, clues and answer? You can find them here: It's the last of the 1300 Wordles today. Tomorrow is Wordle #1400. A whole new era. It's also 2XP Friday today, so those of you playing Competitive Wordle against friends or family, or against your humble narrator or the Wordle Bot, should double your points, both good and bad. I've been taking a beating from the Bot this month, which is only fair after the trouncing I gave to it last month. Let's do this! The Hint: A morbid tune. The Clue: This Wordle ends with a vowel. Okay, spoilers below! FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder . . . Today's Wordle Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here. I use DRAIN from time to time as my opening salvo, and today I got lucky. Very lucky! Only four words remained, and I already had three boxes, though two of these were in yellow. DIRTY was the second-luckiest second guess I could have chosen, slashing my options down to just one: DIRGE for the win! Huzzah! Today's Wordle Bot I get 1 point for guessing in three and another point for beating the Bot. That's 2 x 2 for 2XP Friday for a total of 4 points. The Bot gets 0 for guessing in four and -1 for losing to me. Double that is -2 points. This narrows our April total to just: Erik: 9 points Wordle Bot: 10 points As you can see, the Bot is still in the lead, but only just barely. And there's still almost two weeks left. This could go either way! I do love a close game . . . . The word dirge comes from the Latin dirige, meaning 'direct' or 'guide.' It originates from the opening word of the Latin antiphon Dirige, Domine, Deus meus, in conspectu tuo viam meam ('Direct, O Lord, my God, my way in thy sight'), used in the Office for the Dead in medieval Christian liturgy. Over time, dirge came to mean a funeral song or lament. Let me know how you fared with your Wordle today on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. Today's ‘Wordle' #1392 Hints, Clues And Answer For Friday, April 11th

How to solve today's Wordle. Looking for Thursday's Wordle hints, clues and answer? You can find them here: It's 2XP Friday, ladies and gentlemen, which means if you play Competitive Wordle against a friend or the Wordle Bot, or against your humble narrator, you get to double your points, even if that means doubling your losses. Let's see how we all do and solve this Wordle! The Hint: One of Cupid's tools. The Clue: This Wordle has a double letter. Okay, spoilers below! . . . Today's Wordle Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here. STARE was a decent opening guess, leaving me with two yellow boxes and just 83 possible solutions. I think I've been playing too much D&D lately because the first word I came up with in my attempt to rearrange the 'AR' was ARMOR and I just went with it. I wish I'd thought of ARROW! I was just talking about bow and arrow stuff with my kids! Oh well, ARMOR is (oddly enough) the same exact word that the Wordle Bot came up with (maybe it's been playing too much D&D also). Today's Wordle Bot I get 1 point for guessing in three and 0 for tying the Bot. The Bot gets the same. We both double our 1 and walk away with 2 points for 2XP Friday, bringing our April totals to: Erik: 2 points Wordle Bot: 6 points The word "arrow" comes from the Old English word earh or ārwe, which meant the same thing—'projectile shot from a bow.' It likely has Proto-Germanic roots, such as arhwō, and is related to Old Norse ör, Gothic arhwazna, and Old High German araw. The exact Proto-Indo-European origin is uncertain, but it may be connected to a root meaning "to bend" or "to shoot." Over time, the word evolved in English from ārwe to arrow through Middle English spellings like arwe and arewe. Let me know how you fared with your Wordle today on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.
