Affordable housing to be built in Jacksonville as part of the city's community development
JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The city of Jacksonville is celebrating Community Development Week. Part of their celebration involved showcasing a new home on Cox Avenue that is for sale under affordable housing.
The house at 112 Cox Avenue is just one of many projects geared towards affordable housing in the city of Jacksonville. The three-bedroom, two-bathroom house is brand new and listed for $193,000.
To qualify to purchase these house, potential owners must attend home-buyer education, money management, and housing counseling courses provided by the city of Jacksonville.
The Affordable Housing Project comes after the city received public feedback for their five-year annual action plan. Similar homes are currently being built on Anne Street. For more information, click on the video above.
