‘Completely inappropriate': Parents of elite boys school outraged over queer activist sex video

Institute of Public Affairs Colleen Harkin says it is 'extremely inappropriate' for a queer Palestinian activist to expose school children to an obscene sex act video of himself. He was invited by Trinity Grammar as a Pride Month guest speaker, and students later looked up his social media accounts, where they found a video of the activist performing a lewd act with a sex toy. Trinity Grammar explained that this speaker was recommended by the taxpayer-funded Victorian Pride Centre. 'Unfortunately, it is sort of part of a pattern of radical ideology that's being presented in schools that parents don't know anything about,' Ms Harkin told Sky News host Rita Panahi. 'It takes two seconds to do a social media check on the speaker and his digital footprint. 'They're using schools as a pipeline for activism, and it's completely inappropriate. 'No school children ought to be exposed to this. 'Schools need to be focused on core academic achievement, not sort of introducing children into all of this ideology that has no place.'

VIC Labor government falls through $250 million promise of a high speed express bus way

Institute of Public Affairs' Colleen Harkin says the Labor government spending $250 million on a high-speed express busway is an 'extreme waste of taxpayers' money'. Despite the high-speed promise, Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan says the journey from Doncaster to Melbourne will take even longer, with instead of 100 km speed limits, it might be down to 60 km. 'It's like a Monty Python episode,' Ms Harkin told Sky News host Rita Panahi. 'It's just a crazy situation.'

UN youth branch slams QLD government for impact of ‘Adult Crime, Adult Time' on youth

Institute of Public Affairs Colleen Harkin discusses the United Nations' youth branch saying young Queenslanders cannot have a night out as they are terrified by the 'Adult Crime, Adult Time' youth crime crackdown. 'People have a right to feel safe when they go out,' Ms Harkin told Sky News host Rita Panahi. 'I don't know what these youth people think that they do that they can't just go out and have a good time unless they break the law. 'It's an absurd proposition to say that they're being targeted.'

‘Lopsided perspective of news': The Project leaves Melbourne among 130,000 other businesses

Institute of Public Affairs' Colleen Harkin discusses Channel 10's decision to axe The Project after being on air for 16 years. 'It's a lopsided, not balanced perspective of the day's news,' Ms Harkin told Sky News host Rita Panahi. 'The IPA research will tell you that there's 130,000 businesses have left Victoria in the last year. 'There's an undercurrent of businesses leaving Melbourne regardless of The Project.'

Albanese blasted for ‘negligent' speech by not addressing cost of living issues

Institute of Public Affairs' Colleen Harkin says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's speech at the National Press Club on Tuesday was 'negligent' and was not filled with 'ambitiousness'. 'There was a lot of lofty motherhood statements,' Ms Harkin told Sky News host Rita Panahi. 'The real difference he can make in people's lives is the cost of living and energy bills. 'He really should be focused on what's broken at home. 'It was sort of, like being at an afternoon tea with the girls and a few glasses of champagne and not really concentrating on what people need him to do.'
