Code of Silence is about to bring the curtain down on its first season. The crime thriller has kept audiences on the edges of their seats throughout the last month. Just one episode is left and it is set to air on TV tonight (June 2) - although the full boxset is already on ITVX already. The ending might have left you with plenty of questions - not least whether it will be back for more episodes. Here's all you need to know: What happened in the previous episode of Code of Silence? But after she realised the target was actually the hotel they had visited together earlier in the season and rushed over. Liam hacks security and Braden gets his hands on the necklace, but is tricked into dropping it into the laundry chute. Braden gets into a gunfight and kills a bodyguard and injures police officer Ben. He manages to escape, while Liam also gets away with the necklace. Alison is arrested and interviewed by the police - who believe that she could have been involved in the heist. Liam's phone pings in Budapest, but the police are wary that it could be a trick because of how savvy he is with technology. Braden is sighted and the police raid a house, but he has left. Alison and her mum get used to their new surroundings, she is visited by DI James who explains that the evidence she has gathered will not stand up in court - especially due to her relationship with Liam. Rose Ayling-Ellis (R) in Code of Silence | Mammoth Screen/ ITV Before he leaves, DI James shows Alison a picture of Charlie, a foster father who died a few years prior, and she spots Liam's ring. It is suggested that the heist was organised by Liam to get revenge for Charlie's death. She sneaks out of the safe house and meets up with Liam. Once again, Liam attempts to convince Alison to come away with him - by taking a private plane to Belgium and then Brazil. But she tries to get him to go to the police to stop Helen and Braden. DI James visits Charlie's widow, who he has befriended after his death, and finally gets her to admit that she knows Liam. Dawn says he was Charlie's favourite and doesn't give him up. Charlotte Ritchie and Rose Ayling-Ellis in Code of Silence | MAMMOTH SCREEN/ITV productions Alison's mum finds a note from her, explaining that she is gone. She returns to the Cambridge Tap and speaks to her former manager - but he is reluctant to give evidence saying 'you don't cross people like Braden'. Braden video calls Liam and reveals that he is now holding her hostage. Alison is taken to an ominous looking warehouse by Braden, who is armed with a gun. Liam returns to Dawn's house and explains that all he did was for revenge - but ends by telling his former foster parent that Alison has been captured. He meets with Helen, who takes him to the warehouse and Braden appears again. He holds Alison at gunpoint and Liam hands over the necklace - despite her warnings that Braden won't let them go. Braden lets Alison go but orders Liam to get on his knees and he uses sign language to pass on a secret message to her - that the police are about to arrive. DI James and armed police swoop in and arrest Braden and Helen. He tells her that it was 'worth it' to give himself up to save her. The show then jumps forward two months and Alison joins DS Ashleigh in court. Liam appears, dressed in a suit, and signs a message to Alison before he is stopped by a bailiff. Liam pleads guilty to conspiracy to rob and Alison is later shown packing up to move to a new flat. DI James visits her and tells her that Joseph Holhurst has been charged for money laundering. He also reveals that her payment for her work as an informant has gone through - and it is shown to be £50,000. In the final moments he passes her a leaflet for a forensic lip-reading course and encourages her to take it. Code of Silence ending explained: What happened to Liam and Braden? Code of Silence saw Liam Barlow choose between the criminal gang and his relationship with Alison Brooks. Kieron Moore as Liam in Code of Silence (Image: MAMMOTH SCREEN/ITV ) Code of Silence has been airing on ITV and the explosive finale revealed what happened to Liam Barlow (played by Kieron Moore) and Braden Moore (Joe Absolom). The final episode started after the revelation Liam had planned to escape alone with the necklace all along. Ben Lawford (Nathan Armarkwei) was out of surgery, recovering from the gunshot wound, and the rest of the officers wanted to make sure putting his life on the line wasn't "for nothing". They asked Alison to text Liam so if he checked his messages they could locate him, meanwhile Alison and her mum were taken to a safehouse. Braden, who had been on the run, was blindsided that Liam had set him up. While Helen Redman (Beth Goddard) and Joseph Holhurst (Andrew Scarborough) were brought in for questioning. Unfortunately for the team, Helen still had the upper hand and she claimed the heist was all planned by Liam and Braden. Liam wanted Alison to run away with him Meanwhile, a surprising discovery was made about Liam, who had in fact changed his surname since his time in foster care. DI James Marsh discovered the man who was killed in the previous heist, Charlie, was in fact Liam's foster dad, whom he had cared for dearly. It transpired Liam had taken the necklace for revenge, wanting Braden and Helen to pay for what they did. Liam had set up a meeting with Alison and he asked her to run away with him, but she wanted him to testify against Helen and Joseph. Yet Liam, who did not want to end up with a lengthy prison sentence, could not contact the police. Alison was held captive by Braden After their meeting, Alison went back to the Canterbury Tap where she came face to face with Braden. Wanting to lure Liam back to him with the necklace, he held Alison hostage at a warehouse. Before handing over the necklace to Braden, Liam went back to his foster mum to say goodbye as he said he would need to spend his life on the run. He took the necklace to Helen in return for Alison, but, in a twist of events, he had also called the police. While Braden had a gun to Liam, Liam cleverly used sign language to tell Alison 'police, go' instead of 'please go', so she knew the police were coming. Joe Absolom as Braden Moore (Image: MAMMOTH SCREEN/ITV ) Alison couldn't believe Liam had given himself up for her, and on the day of his court hearing, he told her he was continuing to practice British Sign Language. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob, while Braden and Helen had also been taken down for their involvement. Joseph was arrested after being charged with money laundering. As for Alison, she and her mum moved into a new flat for a fresh start, and James surprised her with £50,000 for helping them. Housewife of the Year RTÉ One, 9.30pm Feature-length, award-winning documentary. It takes a look back at the Housewife of the Year contest, which was broadcast annually on TV between 1967 and 1995. There's the small matter of his scathing sarcasm, which has left him without a single friend in the Edinburgh police force. Then there's the rather more serious issue of him having fatally shot a young officer and permanently injured his partner. Unsurprisingly enough, following this tragic turn of events, Morck is relegated to Department Q: a cold-case unit which was created as a publicity stunt. Although the force is thrilled to see Carl go, he soon sets about assembling a group of outcasts who are all keen to prove themselves. Yes, it does sound a bit like Slow Horses, which is quite the gauntlet for Netflix to throw. Only time will tell if it's worthy of comparison. With yer man from Leap Year (Matthew Goode) essentially playing a hybrid of Gary Oldman's Jackson Lamb and Jack Lowden's River Cartwright, I wouldn't hold my breath. A Widow's Game Netflix, streaming now Picture it: August 2017. In a Valencia parking lot, a man is found stabbed seven times. The city's Homicide Group, led by a veteran inspector, races to solve the case, which appears to be a crime of passion. Their investigation soon takes a shocking turn, pointing to an unlikely suspect: Maje, the victim's seemingly sweet and stoic widow, married to him for less than a year. Mission: Impossible Fest Disney+, streaming now We can never get enough of the Mission: Impossible movies, it seems. You can now watch all the prequels to the recently released The Final Reckoning if you're so inclined. Bono: Stories of Surrender Apple TV+, streaming now Behold Bono's one-man stage show, exploring the personal experiences that have shaped him as a son, father, husband and activist. Oh, and as one of the planet's biggest rock stars. If Owen Wilson's signature shtick is more to your liking, The Stick lands Wednesday. Good Boy Prime Video, streaming now In order to combat crime in a perilous underworld, a group of former medal-winning athletes exchange the podium for police badges. In an exciting, action-packed ride, Yun Dong-ju (Park Bo-gum) and his group battle a formidable criminal syndicate. Also on Prime Video, we have season 2 of The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy, courtesy of producers Maya Rudolph and Natasha Lyonne. The Better Sister Prime Video, streaming now D'you know what society needs? More portrayals of women being pitted against each other. Based on Alafair Burke's novel, however, this eight-part thriller attempts to turn things. When media executive Chloe (Jessica Biel) and her estranged sister Nicky (Elizabeth Banks) are reunited after a murder, they must unravel long-buried family secrets to uncover the truth.

Code of Silence viewers in agreement over new 'thought provoking' ITV drama
Code of Silence viewers were all in agreement as they watched Rose Ayling-Ellis' new drama on ITV on Sunday night Viewers of the gripping new ITV drama Code of Silence were unanimous in their praise for Rose Ayling-Ellis, who rose to fame as a deaf Strictly Come Dancing champion and actress on EastEnders. The compelling series kicked off its premiere on Sunday evening (May 18), showcasing Ayling-Ellis's latest role since leaving Albert Square. In her portrayal of Alison Brooks in Code of Silence, Rose plays a police canteen worker whose years of lip-reading come to the fore when she is brought onto a case involving a major heist plotted by a notorious gang. As the narrative escalates, the central character finds herself becoming entangled with one of the people under investigation. Ahead of the show's launch, ITV announced a significant alteration to their advertising approach for the evening, which was relayed via their social media platforms, reports the Manchester Evening News. A statement given by an ITV representative revealed: "Tonight's episode of Code of Silence will feature a silent ad break, where all adverts will be signed and/or subtitled and run without sound." This creative move aimed at boosting awareness around deafness saw advertisements from The National Lottery, Virgin Atlantic, Boots Hearingcare, Ikea, Walkers and Aldi broadcast silently, accompanied only by subtitles. Audiences took to X, previously known as Twitter, to express their thoughts on the innovative ad campaign and the compelling nature of the new drama. @KDCunliffe applauded: "Bravo @ITV. The advert break is genius. So thought provoking. Brilliant work." @lornawatts echoed the sentiments with: "ITV airing silent ads during the ad break of the show is a really nice touch. #CodeOfSilence." The innovation spurred @RyanSoapKing25 to comment: "I hope this raise much needed awareness within the deaf community through this drama and the silent ads moment." Meanwhile, @putasinghonit was deeply impressed: "ITV turning down the sound for the adverts during #CodeOfSilence and including subtitles and interpreters is a big, big WOW! ! !" Engagement with the portrayal of the deaf community continued as @J13Bally shared: "I enjoyed Code of Silence last night. I also thought that was a touching and respectful gesture to deaf people to turn the sound off and just add subtitles in one of the ad breaks." The novel approach resonated with @kirbyhazard who shared: "Watching #CodeOfSilence and I like that ITV are choosing to play silent ads that's are withered signed or subtitled." In the run-up to the first episode, Andy Kyriacou, controller of ITV Channels, ITV Commercial, hailed Code of Silence as 'groundbreaking', highlighting its critical role in representing the deaf community. "I'm really pleased to be also bringing this into our commercial airtime. We've worked closely with the brands involved in this innovative ad break to introduce something different that captures viewers' attention and aligns with the drama's theme," he enthused.
