Man stopped in Balsall Common jailed over £3.8m cocaine discovery
A man has been jailed after Class A drugs with a street value of almost £4m was seized from his car and Byrd, 50, was arrested after being stopped by traffic officers in Kenilworth Road, Balsall Common, on 14 March. It led to the discovery of more than 25kg (55lbs) of cocaine, with a street value of approximately £3.8m, in his car and home, West Midlands Police said. He admitted couriering Class A drugs between the West Midlands and London over a three-month period. At Birmingham Crown Court, he pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply the Class A drugs. Byrd was jailed for 12 years, nine months at the court on 13 June. As a result of the drugs being found in his car, further searches were carried out at his home address in Sidcup, Bexley, where further drugs were found along with cash. Man arrested on suspicion of breaking into Windsor Castle grounds
A man has been arrested on suspicion of breaking into the grounds of Windsor Castle. Thames Valley Police said the man allegedly entered 'restricted grounds' at the royal residence at just after 1pm on Sunday. The force added that he was 'quickly challenged' by Metropolitan Police officers and did not enter the inner grounds of the castle. The Metropolitan Police said the man, aged in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of trespass on a protected site and possession of Class A drugs. He was then passed into the custody of Thames Valley Police. Thames Valley Police said the man has been bailed and an 'investigation is ongoing'. A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: 'At just after 1pm on Sunday a man entered restricted grounds at Windsor Castle. 'He was quickly challenged by Met police officers and arrested. He did not enter the inner grounds of Windsor Castle.' It is a criminal offence to trespass on a protected site under the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005.

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of breaking into the grounds of Windsor Castle. The man was spotted by Metropolitan Police officers after 1pm on Sunday and "quickly challenged". He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of trespass and for possession of Class-A drugs. The man was then passed into the custody of Thames Valley Police. The police said he has since been bailed, and an investigation is ongoing. Sky News understands no members of the Royal Family were in the castle at the time. The police added that the man had not entered the inner grounds of the castle. It is a criminal offence to trespass on a protected site designated under the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005. In October last year, another security scare took place on the Windsor Castle estate when masked burglars broke in while members of the Royal Family were believed to have been asleep nearby, the Sun reported. Two men reportedly scaled a 6ft fence, and then used a stolen truck to break through a security gate - after fleeing on quad bikes. The King and Queen were not in residence at the time. Another security incident took place on Christmas Day in 2021 - involving a man climbing a fence at Windsor Castle, armed with a crossbow and claiming he wanted to kill Queen Elizabeth II. Jaswant Singh Chail was handed a , possession of an offensive weapon, and making threats to kill.

An intruder has been arrested for breaking into restricted grounds at Windsor Castle, police have said.A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said at just after 13:00 BST on Sunday a man entered the grounds and was "quickly challenged" by man, who is in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of trespass on a protected site and possession of Class A drugs.A police spokesperson said the intruder did not enter the "inner grounds" of the castle. Intruder breaks into Windsor Castle
A man has been arrested after breaking into the grounds of Windsor Castle. The intruder reportedly climbed over a wall to get into the castle at lunchtime on Sunday. He was detained by police and Specialist Protection Command, who have responsibility for security within the castle, The Sun reported. Thames Valley Police said the man was arrested on suspicion of trespass on a protected site and possession of Class A drugs. He has since been released on bail pending further investigations. A spokesman for Thames Valley Police, said: 'At just after 1pm on Sunday, a man has entered restricted grounds at Windsor castle. 'He was quickly challenged by Met police officers and arrested. He did not enter the inner grounds of Windsor castle. 'He was arrested on suspicion of trespass on a secure site and possession of class A drugs. 'He has been bailed and an investigation is ongoing by Thames Valley Police.'
