SIT summons BJP leader in T'gana phone-tapping case
The Special Investigation Team of the Telangana police probing the alleged phone tapping during the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi regime, summoned a close aide of Union minister of state for home Bandi Sanjay for questioning in connection with the case, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) disclosed on Friday. The statement said the SIT, which began its investigation into phone tapping after the Congress came to power, had already confirmed that Bandi Sanjay's phone had been tapped (HT Archive) In a statement, the Telangana BJP said the SIT officials had confirmed on Friday that the phone of Bandi Sanjay's close aide and BJP Karimnagar Parliamentary constituency convenor, Boyinapalli Praveen Rao, was tapped during the previous BRS regime. 'The SIT authorities called up Praveen Rao and informed him that his phone number was also in the list of those which were tapped. They said they would summon him shortly, and he would be required to appear before the investigating authorities for questioning,' the BJP said. Meanwhile, BJP state general secretary Gujjula Premender Reddy, too, confirmed that he had received the information from the investigating authorities that his phone, too, was tapped during the previous regime. The statement said the SIT, which began its investigation into phone tapping after the Congress came to power, had already confirmed that Bandi Sanjay's phone had been tapped. 'Now, the investigation has revealed that the phones of his staff and close associates were also tapped,' it said. The party said Praveen Rao has been a long-time associate of Bandi Sanjay and had managed Sanjay's election campaigns in the past. 'In recent years, Praveen Rao has served as Sanjay's personal assistant and the BJP Karimnagar Parliamentary constituency convenor, coordinating constituency tours and supervising the execution of various programmes,' it said. It said Praveen Rao had taken part in the agitations of Sanjay during the BRS regime against forcible implementation of GO 317 (on employees' transfers), leakage of Class 10 examination paper, communal violence at Bhainsa and other such incidents. 'He was even named as a co-accused in several public agitation-related cases alongside Sanjay,' the party said. Premender Reddy also said the SIT authorities had informed him, too, that his phone was also tapped during the BRS regime. 'I shall hand over all the evidence and other details of my mobile phone to the Jubilee Hills police on Monday,' he said, adding that if the police did not take any action even after gathering all the details, the state government would be held responsible.

DDA Recruitment 2025: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Thursday released a notification to recruit 1,383 personnel in various Group A, B, and C positions. Among the posts the DDA called for applications include Junior Engineer, Assistant Section Officer, Patwari, and many others. The application process is set to start soon. Aspirants will have to apply through the official website of DDA at once the registration window opens. Rewari tops HBSE Class 10 results; girls outperform boys in Haryana
. BHIWANI: The Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) has announced the Class 10 results, with girls once again outperforming boys. This year, 92.49% of students passed the exam. Among the districts, Rewari secured the top position, followed by Charkhi Dadri in second place and Mahendragarh in third. In contrast, the Nuh district recorded the lowest performance. According to the list released by the board, 17 of the 20 toppers are girls, while only 3 are boys. A total of 20 students were declared toppers in the HBSE Class 10 results . Among them, Rohit from Hisar, Mahi from Ambala, and Roma and Tanya from Jhajjar secured the first position, each scoring 497 out of 500 marks. In the second position, six students scored 496 marks. These include Akshit Sahrawat from Panipat, Yogesh from Kaithal, Rinku from Panipat, Divyanshi and Diksha from Rohtak, and Sunaina from Hisar. Out of 129,249 girl students, 121,566 passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 94.06%. Among 142,250 boys, 129,544 passed, with a pass percentage of 91.07%. Thus, girls outperformed boys by 2.99% in pass percentage. They also shared that government schools recorded a pass percentage of 89.30%, while private schools achieved 96.28%. Students from rural areas had a pass percentage of 92.35%, whereas urban students recorded 92.83%. In terms of district performance, Rewari ranked first with 96.85%, Charkhi Dadri second with 96.08%, Mahendragarh third with 95.78%, and Nuh was at the bottom with 73.9%. Talking to TOI, board secretary Munish Nagpal said that this year, elaborate arrangements were made to prevent cheating, and action has been initiated against teachers and others found involved in malpractice. 'Therefore, we can say that it was wonderful compared to the last few years. Moreover, the pass percentage of agriculture, animal husbandry, music, dance, and skill-based courses is 100%, besides 99.68% in science, 99.27% in maths, 99% in drawing, and 99.73% in home science. Out of 20 toppers, 17 are from a rural background. Rural students are performing well continuously and hope for better in the coming time,' he added.
