Four-star Texas WR commit Chris Stewart shuts down recruitment
Chris Stewart has fortified his longstanding pledge to the Longhorns. After returning to the Forty Acres this weekend for his final official visit, the dynamic in-state four-star wide receiver has put a pin in his recruitment. Advertisement Stewart is locked in with Texas, which landed his commitment nearly a year ago to the today. As his senior season at Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek approaches, his commitment to the Horns could not be any stronger. "I made the final decision ... I'm shutting it down," Stewart told Rivals this weekend during his official visit back to Austin. "Every time I step foot at Texas, I'm home. I feel welcomed. It's family there," he added. Stewart has made the trip nearby to Austin more than 10 times leading into and since his commitment to the Longhorns last summer. The No. 6-rated SLOT receiver in the Rivals250 also entertained official visits to SMU and Tennessee and was showing interest in Miami and Arizona State. Advertisement "It's not to decide not to go to Texas," Stewart started. "They showed me how I could be used in the offense -- similar to Matthew Golden and Xavier Worthy -- and we've seen what Golden did there," he continued. "I can go there and do the same thing -- and do it at a better pace." Stewart was trending toward to sticking with the Longhorns since returning back from his official visit to Knoxville last weekend. That was affirmed during his sit-down with Steve Sarkisian, Chris Jackson and the Texas staff during the official visit back to campus this weekend. "From meeting with the coaches, it was important for my family to trust the coaches," Stewart said. "That's where I'll be going for the next three to four years. I need my family to be close with all of the coaches on the staff -- and they trust them."

Ten players we're watching at OT7 Week 4
DALLAS -- OT7's fourth season of 7-on-7 competition returned to the Lone Star State earlier this spring, and we're gearing up for Week 4 of the competition -- the final weekend of action before the Golden Ticket Tournament next week and the OT7 Championships on June 26-29 in Florida. This season, 18 teams have been competing over this four-weekend season. More on the OT7 Tournament here. Advertisement The field has featured several blue-chip recruits in the 2026, 2027, and even 2028 classes so far. Previous top performing prospects included USC-bound QB Jonas Williams, Texas WR commit Chris Stewart, and five-star CB Havon Finney Jr. Here are 10 more players Rivals will be watching closely during Week 4 action at OT7: FOUR-STAR QB LANDON DUCKWORTH, RWE Landon Duckworth is one of six quarterback ranked inside the top 30 of the Rivals250 in the 2026 cycle. The four-star passer from Alabama possesses as much -- or more -- upside than anyone in this class. Duckworth is an efficient distributor with big-play ability attacking vertically and extending plays outside of the pocket. In this 7-on-7 setting, the elite QB will have an opportunity to showcase his processing and decision-making early and often. We're excited to see Spafford at work and how he directs coverages with so much star power around him on the Cali Power offense. FIVE-STAR QB RYDER LYONS, COLD HEARTS Ryder Lyons made his 7-on-7 debut Week 1 of the OT7 season. After two days of action, the five-star QB was well-acclimated to the speed of the game and found a rhythm. Lyons has a live arm and a talented cast of receivers around him. He wasn't shy about taking shots downfield -- and we anticipate seeing a different version of the touted passer this weekend. FOUR-STAR TE MARK BOWMAN, CALIFORNIA POWER Elite TE Mark Bowman is one of a handful of prospects to reclassify into the 2026 cycle. The top-30 recruit from California moves at a different speed at 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds. He also should be a mismatch in the red zone. Bowman should draw the attention of several talented linebackers and safeties along the way. FOUR-STAR WR JABARI MACK (LSU COMMIT) Four-star WR Jabari Mack has been enjoying a stellar off-season so far -- shining in various settings, including Week 1 of the OT7 season last month. The speedy pass-catcher from The Boot is up to 200 pounds this spring -- and has continued to deliver big plays downfield and highlight catches each and every event this spring. Mack is one of the several elite WR committed to LSU in this cycle. FOUR-STAR ATH SALESI MOA, COLD HEARTS Four-star ATH Salesi Moa was superb in his last outing at OT7 in Week 1. The dynamic two-way player from Utah was one of Lyons' top receiving targets -- making deep catches downfield and also working underneath effectively. Moa was equally as good in coverage playing cornerback. Moa's father played in the NFL and a brother at Michigan State, and he has a skill-set to follow suit. FOUR-STAR SAF JETT WASHINGTON, LO-PRO Jett Washington is known for being the late great Kobe Bryant's nephew -- and he also has an established reputation as one of the top defensive backs at OT7 the past two seasons. The top-100 SAF has outstanding range and length patrolling the back end of the secondary and can fly to the football. Washington, unsurprisingly, is also a standout basketball player. THREE-STAR WR JAMES SCOTT, TUCSON TURF Touted 2026 WR James Scott out of the Lone Star State was one of top performers in OT7 Week 1. The big-framed pass-catcher was outstanding by the goal -- playing above the rim and consistently winning one-on-one matchups inside and also working on the perimeter. Scott was one of the biggest stock-up recruits at the position so far this spring -- and has programs like Houston, , TCU, Texas A&M, and USC in pursuit. THREE-STAR SAF KENTAVION ANDERSON, RWE We're ecstatic about our first live evaluation of touted 2026 SAF Kentavion Anderson. The South Carolina native constantly puts himself by the football. Anderson largely works in in the box and covers a ton of ground -- and his skill-set should translate well in this 7-on-7 setting. Anderson is set to make his college commitment on May 16.

‘One sign goes down, thousands go up:' Community rallies around West Ada welcome message
The West Ada School District made national headlines recently when administrators ordered a school teacher to remove signs containing welcoming messages from her classroom. Community members quickly responded, ensuring the sign's messages would be seen far beyond a single classroom. On Sunday afternoon, West Ada parents staged a Chalk the Walk event, painting the sidewalks outside several West Ada schools with welcoming words. Hundreds of people gathered outside the West Ada School District's administrative offices in Meridian to send a message to school leaders through chalk. Others went to schools across the district to chalk outside their doors. 'One sign goes down, thousands go up in its place,' West Ada parent Chris Stewart told the Idaho Statesman at the event. 'That's kind of resonated as the rallying cry.' Administrators have faced outcry since it became public that they told Sarah Inama, a 35-year-old world civilization teacher at Lewis and Clark Middle School in Meridian, to remove two signs from her classroom in February. People wrote the words from Inama's signs, as well as additional welcoming messages and statements of rebuke against the district's actions. One of them reads, 'Everyone is welcome here,' above hands of different skin tones. The other says, 'In this room, everyone is welcome, important, accepted, respected, encouraged, valued,' with each word highlighted in a different color. District officials took issue with the signs for being 'too political' and because they 'don't allow people to express differing opinions,' Inama said. Inama initially removed the signs before having a change of heart, returning to her classroom over the weekend to put them back up. The district now says Inama has until the end of the school year to remove the decorations. District spokesperson Niki Scheppers told the Statesman that disciplinary measures would be handled internally at that time if she did not comply. Parents within the district have been vocal about their disagreement with the district's decision. 'I understand there are policies in place, and those can be complicated,' Conor Hiney, a parent of two district students, said. 'I know they're doing work to try to make those the best they can. But I think their initial reaction, and then really their reaction after this hit the news, has just been disappointing. I was expecting slightly better leadership.' Parents at one chalk event told the Statesman they didn't understand why administrators would describe these messages as political. 'I know the temperature right now is really hot out there in our country, but everything's not political,' Quinnten Anderson, another West Ada parent, said. 'It's really just a message that unites people together.' In emails shared by the district with the Statesman, Marcus Myers, the district's chief academic officer, told Inama to remove the signs because they violated Idaho's Dignity and Nondiscrimination in Public Education Act, as well as school policy, which requires signs to be 'content neutral and conducive to a positive learning environment.' The district also told the Statesman it was concerned it would violate House Bill 41. Signed by Gov. Brad Little on Thursday, the new law bans 'flags or banners that present political, religious, or ideological views, including but not limited to political parties, race, gender, sexual orientation, or political ideologies' in schools. Inama, who attended the Lewis and Clark Middle School chalk event, said she has been 'blown away' by the community's response. 'There's not been an inkling of hesitation,' Inama said. 'People have just been like, 'Of course, everyone is welcome here, no matter what.' And that's the way it should be. It's not about politics. It's not about personal opinions.' Many attendees at the event wore shirts bearing Inama's 'everyone is welcome here' sign. Stewart started selling T-shirts with the graphic at cost as another way to spread the message. He estimates he has sold more than 20,000. People have ordered them from as far away as New Zealand. Even members of the TV show General Hospital and Grammy-winning hip-hop group Arrested Development have contacted Steward to buy shirts. Stewart hopes the words on the sidewalks and shirts will change kids' perceptions of their hometown. 'I am so tired of seeing Boise on the news about these weird stories,' Stewart said. 'I don't see that in Boise. I see what we see in front of us right here. I see Boise is a welcoming, accepting place. I've had opportunities of a lifetime here, and I'm raising my son here, who looks like me, and I want him to know that he's in a loving, supportive, welcoming place.'
