AFL WAG turned designer Rebecca Judd recruits 11-year-old daughter Billie into the family influencer career
Rebecca Judd is proving that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree as she recruits her daughter Billie into the world of influencing. On Thursday, the 42-year-old AFL WAG enlisted the help of her daughter, 11, to make several sponsored posts to her Instagram Stories to thank a bath and body brand for freebies. 'What have you got there?' Bec asked her daughter on-camera, who 'woo-hooed' as she unboxed a gift set from All Kinds in her school uniform. Billie dutifully held up the press materials inside the box for the camera before Bec read them aloud. 'We've got a mini Spongebob, we've got shower foam, and bubblegum,' she said as she sat down to unbox the baby pink gift pack. 'Yeah try it,' Bec encouraged gently, as Billie reached for a lip balm. Bec has been posting clips and images of Billie to her Stories more frequently in the past 12 months as her second-eldest child enters her tweenage years. The model and influencer shares four children - Oscar, 13, Billie, 11, and twins Tom and Darcy, eight - with retired footy great Chris Judd. In March, the Melbourne-based rich lister booked a $5,000 private suite at Rod Laver Arena Billie could watch Billie Eilish in style on her Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour. Bec took to Instagram, where she documents her lavish lifestyle to 752,000 followers, to memorialise the big night out, first sharing a picture of the mum and daughter duo beaming for a mirror selfie. In the image, Bec looked every inch the teenager in a white layered crop-top and cut-out, light-wash jeans. Meanwhile, Billie looked cute in an oversized pink hoodie and jeans. 'Billie's first concert - off to see Billie!' she captioned the clip. A second picture showed Billie excitedly about to enter the exclusive suite at Rod Laver Arena, which was hosted by Bec's gymwear brand JAGGAD. In a recent fan Q&A, Bec characterised her daughter as 'a weapon at everything'. Describing her children's personalities, she added: 'Oscar: kind, responsible, smart, diligent. 'Darcy: Super cruisy, funny and creative. Tom: Elon Musk.' One fan asked the mum-of-four how she juggles running her full-to-the-brim household. 'With anxiety and mum guilt,' the fashion designer confessed. 'I travel a bit for work but I'm always on, even when I'm away. Ordering lunches, responding to school emails, ordering groceries, organising pick ups/drop offs, coordinating training, booking trades/ repairs for home, buying birthday gifts, dealing with kid dramas etc,' she said. 'All the normal mum things but on the other side of the world.' Bec has also included Billie in advertisements for her other brand collaborations such as Mermade Hair styling tools. Billie was just three-years-old when Bec confessed that she felt her daughter was beginning to develop a poor sense of body image in relation to her famous mother. The TV presenter said during her radio show - KIIS network's The 3PM Pick Up in 2017 - that Billie 'screams at the mirror' because she hates her hair. 'Billie all of a sudden has started caring about her appearance so much. It's actually scary, and I don't know where it's come from,' she said at the time. 'She's got this brush, and she stands in front of the mirror and brushes and brushes her hair. 'She's got this curly hair. She brushes it and it springs back up. And she screams at the mirror, she's like, "arrrrgh!" She's just furious.' She went on to say that her daughter complained, 'Mummy, I don't like my hair. I want straight hair like you,' to which Bec replied to her toddler, 'Babe when I go to work I tong my hair so I've got curly hair like you.' The solution Bec and Chris decided upon was to steer her daughter's emphasis away from her own looks and onto other attributes, the TV personality said. She concluded: 'It made Chris and I think we have to put so much emphasis on being a kind human, and being strong, and being smart.'

Rebecca Judd has shocked fans by revealing her little-known ethnicity. On Monday, the wife of retired AFL legend Chris Judd, 42, took to Instagram Stories to share a video of herself flaunting her signature bikini body at the couple's weekender on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula. Judd donned the crocheted bikini from Australian swimwear brand It's Now Cool's new collection while proudly strutting around her outdoor spa. However, it was the mother of four revealing her ethnicity in the caption which really turned fans' heads. "Winter fit check with @itsnowcool. This little Maori-white girl needs a tan. See you soon, Broome," she wrote. Judd seldom mentions her New Zealand heritage from her mother Kerry Brown's side. Her father Hugh Twigly, is of Scottish and Irish descent. In 2023, the AFL WAG told Stellar magazine her family often travelled to New Zealand in her childhood, influenced by her mother's heritage. "Mum's side is MÄori, so we did a lot of trips to New Zealand when we were kids," the model said. "No one ever guesses that I'm MÄori. No-one. Ever." Judd said her family would all flock to her at her grandfather's farm in New Zealand, where they would enjoy a hÄngÄ«, a traditional MÄori cooking method in which food is cooked in an underground oven. "My pop has a big farm, and we'd have all the uncles and aunties over to have a hÄngÄ« every time we went over," she said. Judd's parents Hugh and Kerry relocated from New Zealand to Australia in the late 1970s to take advantage of the West Australian mining boom. After her parents separated, Judd and her sister Kate split their time between Perth and regional WA. In her wide-ranging interview with Stellar, Judd mentioned her family struggled to make ends meet growing up. "We didn't have much growing up, and every dollar counted, so we really respected our food, our home and our belongings," she said. In 2007, Judd moved to Melbourne with then-boyfriend Chris Judd. She completed her studies in speech and language pathology at La Trobe University and worked with adults in rehabilitation at the Alfred Hospital. Judd married Chris in Melbourne's Carousel at Albert Park in 2010, and they have four children: Oscar, 14, Billie, 11, and twin sons Tom and Darcy, nine. The couple documented their extensively redesigned $7.3 million Spanish Colonial house in Brighton, Melbourne's southeast, in the media.

Bec Judd has weighed in on Melbourne's crime wave with a scathing new Instagram post slamming Victoria's Labor government. The AFL WAG reacted with fury after learning that the ringleaders behind a horrifying machete attack in Northland Shopping Centre in Melbourne 's north this weekend were on bail. Alongside a news article with the headline 'Accused ringleaders of Northland machete brawl were on bail shared to Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Bec commented, 'Are we surprised. FFS.' The 42-year-old also shared an interaction with one of her social media followers who asked: 'How do we sack the Victoria state government?' The famously outspoken fashion designer replied: 'It's pretty simple guys – STOP VOTING FOR THEM. 'We have a State Election next year (can we bring it forward?) where every Victorian has the opportunity to show them the door'. The mother-of-four, who is married to former Carlton and West Coast superstar Chris Judd, lives in Brighton in Melbourne's bayside suburbs in $7.4million mansion. It comes after two teenagers were charged after a violent brawl broke out between rival gang members armed with machetes and forced a shopping centre into lockdown. Two boys, aged 15 and 16, have been charged, while another male, 20, was rushed to hospital following the brawl on Sunday at about 2.30pm at Northland Shopping Centre in Melbourne 's north. The teenagers were charged with affray, intentionally causing injury, possessing a controlled weapon and using a controlled weapon and have been remanded to appear in a children's court at a later date. The charges come as Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan held a snap press conference on Monday to announce a machete ban will be expedited. The ban was initially set to be enforced on September 1, however Allan revealed a ban on the sale of machetes would be enforced from Wednesday. 'Those knives are dangerous weapons,' she said. 'They have no place on our streets anywhere and that is why I will introduce as many laws to get these dangerous knives off the streets, which is why I'm announcing today that, effective immediately, we will be bringing in place a ban on the sale of machetes here in Victoria, and this ban will be in place from midday on Wednesday.' The 42-year-old also shared an interaction with one of her social media followers who asked: 'How do we sack the Victoria state government?' Superintendent Kelly Lawson confirmed the attack was not random, saying rival gangs had arranged a meeting at the shopping centre's food court before the fight broke out. 'It is said to have been an act of retaliation,' she said. Police believe about 10 people were involved. 'It was a chaotic scene,' Supt Lawson added. 'It's really frightening for members of the public to go through this.' The centre was locked down during the incident as dozens of police officers responded and shoppers shared updates on social media. The man taken to hospital is in a stable condition. Two other males have since self-presented to hospital with injuries. Supt Lawson said it would not take long to identify all the gang members involved. One shopper said that saw a wounded young man with a 'big machete still in his stomach'. Bec has been immensely vocal on political issues in her home town of Melbourne in recent years. In March, she scolded former Victorian premier Daniel Andrews who she says could've saved lives if he fixed Melbourne 's crime scourge while in power. Judd called Andrews 'the Dictator' in a social media post to her 750,000-plus Instagram followers after current premier Jacinta Allan announced the government would implement harsher bail laws. 'Gee, this aged well,' Judd posted on Instagram with an accompanying image of a 2022 story in which she warned Melbourne has a crime crisis. 'Imagine the lives that could've been saved. Imagine the terror experienced by so many Victorians that could've been stopped if the Dictator had acted when I called this out. 'Today Jacinta Allan has announced the toughest bail laws in the country. Yes it is too late for so many but it is a start. And mark my words, if the government stuffs this up again, I will continue to let everyone know about it. 'I am a mum and proud Victorian who just wants my beloved Melbourne to go back to being the best city in the world where everybody feels safe to live their lives peacefully.' Judd, a successful businesswoman, TV presenter and top tier social media influencer, also proclaimed 'power to the people'. Her Instagram post was in response to harsh new bail laws which will see children and adults suspected of serious crimes including home invasion and carjackings kept behind bars. Premier Allan announced a raft of changes after it became apparent crime was rampant in the city especially amongst youth offenders who are repeatedly set free from remand almost immediately after being charged with a serious crime. She also posted fresh cries for help after two suspects allegedly armed with machetes were recorded entering properties at Black Rock and Kew. 'The size of the machete. 5am this morning. @jacintaallanmp Victorians are DESPERATE for you to do something about this,' Judd wrote. In a second post Judd raised the incident at Kew in Melbourne's east. 'And this one also this morning in Kew,' Judd wrote. 'Victoria is under attack and our leaders are doing nothing.' Victoria's youth crime epidemic hit 23,810 incidents in 2023-2024 - the highest it has been since 2009 and a jump of almost 17 percent on the previous 12 months. And many of the home invasions, aggravated burglaries, car thefts, assaults, brawls and knife attacks which happen daily occur in Melbourne. Among recent incidents were five teens including a 13-year-old boy who were arrested and charged after an alleged carjacking and multiple burglaries in Melbourne's east on February 11. Police spotted a Range Rover Discovery which had allegedly been stolen from Elwood three days earlier. The teens allegedly stole cigarettes from a service station and then ditched the Range Rover about 11.15pm before carjacking a Ford Focus after using a knife to threaten the driver. The boys were all charged with aggravated carjacking, aggravated burglary, theft and aggravated burglary. Forensic psychologist Tim Watson-Munro told the Daily Mail Australia he wanted tougher bail laws in Victoria which are currently 'just a joke'. 'Zooming down the Monash doing 150km/h and they're arrested, bailed and back before court the next day for the same offending,' Dr Watson-Munro said. 'Police arrest them and the offenders laugh at them, they say 'we'll be back out tomorrow'; it's an arrogance, it's lack of respect. 'People are very worried about aggravated burglaries, parents worry about their own children out at all hours where they can get bashed and stabbed, these crimes even happen in broad daylight.' Bec has not only been a flag-bearer for fighting Victoria's spiralling crime crisis and weak bail laws but has in recent months mingled with prominent right wing politicians The rampant crime in Melbourne, once regarded as Australia's most liveable city, has taken over news broadcasts are now filled with reports of carjackings, fire bombings and random knife attacks. But in a sad twist, these horror stories are buried deep within the nightly news broadcasts - a side piece in a city that has become accustomed to rampant, mindless violence. In the background, angry Melburnians hit social media to vent about the state's crime wave. Bec has not only been a flag-bearer for fighting Victoria's spiralling crime crisis and weak bail laws but has in recent months mingled with prominent right wing politicians. In February, she was seen at the LIV Golf tournament in Adelaide, partying with the Victorian deputy Liberal leader Sam Groth. Also on hand for the fun was Groth's wife Brittany and influencer Jessie Roberts.

WA football greats gather to farewell Eagles premiership player and life member Adam Selwood
Former West Coast Eagles star Adam Selwood has been farewelled at a private memorial service at the club's Lathlain headquarters in Perth. He died suddenly on May 17 at the age of 41. Selwood played 187 games for the Eagles and was part of the 2006 premiership team. He was married with two children. His death came three months after his twin brother Troy died by suicide. A large group of mourners began gathering just after midday for the service, including many of Adam Selwood's former teammates and their partners. Some of his 2006 premiership teammates attended the service, including Chris Judd, Ben Cousins, Daniel Kerr, David Wirrpanda, Chad Fletcher and Sam Butler. Other teammates in attendance included Josh Kennedy, Phil Matera and Nic Naitanui. Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir, who worked with Adam Selwood when he was an assistant coach at West Coast, was also there. Geelong champion Tom Hawkins made the trip west to attend the service. Adam Selwood was born in Bendigo but had lived in Perth since he was 18, when he was taken by the Eagles with pick 53 in the 2002 AFL draft. That same year, his twin Troy was selected by Brisbane with pick 19. Younger brother Joel played 355 games for Geelong, while their youngest brother Scott also played in the AFL, for West Coast and later Geelong. While never generating the same headlines as his high-profile teammates like Judd, Kerr and Cousins, Adam Selwood was a highly valued key component of the club's glory years in the mid-2000s. He was often used as a tagger, before being moved into defence later in his career — usually to curb the influence of the opposition's best small forward. After his playing career he remained in WA and was involved with the club as a development coach, before he was appointed as the Eagles' first head of female football — overseeing the club's entry into the AFLW in 2020. He spent 18 years at West Coast, leaving at the end of 2020 to pursue career opportunities outside football. Some of his colleagues from SEDA College, where he was most recently employed, were at the service. Following his death, his wife Fiona released a statement with the rest of the Selwood family. "We will miss Adam deeply — his spirit, his kindness, and the joy he brought to every room," she said. Adam Selwood is the second member of the Eagles' 2006 premiership team to die, following the sudden passing of Adam Hunter in February at the age of 43.
