General Mills discontinues 3 cereal flavors. See which ones.
General Mills is pulling three specialty cereals from shelves, a representative for the company confirmed to USA TODAY. The company is discontinuing: Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch (introduced in early 2013) Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios (introduced in 2017) Honey Nut Cheerios Minis products (announced as a new addition in early 2024) Cereal enthusiast and social media user Kayla Simonsen, also known as the Cereal Queen on Instagram, first broke that the cereal was getting the axe in an Instagram post on June 4. "Of the 3, It baffles me the most that Cheerios would discontinue the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios," Simonsen said in the social media post, adding that people should "grab these while (they) can, because what's on shelves is what's left." General Mills did not elaborate on why it discontinued the products, but said in a statement on June 17 that it is introducing new cereals for customers to try, like Cheerios Oat Crunch Chocolate. Frosted Lemon Cheerios will also return for a limited time this summer. 'Much like Frosted Lemon Cheerios, which returned by popular demand, we continue to listen to our fans as we evolve our offerings,' the company said. Simonsen said Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios were 'fantastic' in her June 4 Instagram post. She also offered her take on what could've helped the Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch cereal last longer. 'The medley (oat) crunch version of honey nut cheerios were so underrated,' she wrote. 'I feel if they had been more widely available from the start that the sales would have been great. It combined HN cheerios, multigrain based flakes that had graham flour in them, & the best honey clusters of granola w/almonds. It was perfection honestly.' According to General Mills, the company recently released a line of Cheerios Protein cereal, which comes in flavors such as cinnamon, strawberry, and cookies and creme. The line debuted this year. 2 Fan-Favorite Cheerios Flavors Discontinued by General Mills
Two flavors and one size option of Cheerios products are leaving store shelves General Mills confirmed the news in a statement this week, but said there is a possibility for flavors to return 'We continue to listen to our fans as we evolve our offerings," the company saidThree Cheerios products will no longer be available to customers, General Mills reportedly confirmed this week. On Wednesday, June 18, ABC News shared the following statement from the food processing company: "The Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch Cereal and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios Cereal have been discontinued and are no longer available.' General Mills did not specify in their email to the news outlet what the exact reason behind the discontinuation was. However, the brand said, it "could be for a variety of reasons, ranging from insufficient consumer demand to ingredients no longer available or other supply chain constraints, whereby it's just no longer feasible for us to offer the product with the high quality and competitive pricing that consumers know and expect." The third product is not a flavor, but a size. Included in the discontinued items are the 18-oz. packages of Honey Nut Cheerios Minis, though they can still be purchased in 10.8-oz. boxes. Reps for General Mills did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment. According to the General Mills website, both the Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios ranked high among consumer favorites — with one having just under 200 5-star reviews, and the other have nearly 50 5-star reviews. The Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch Heart Healthy Cereal is described as "a delicious remix of Honey Nut Cheerios cereal with honey nut Os, crispy flakes and crunchy clusters." They were also made of whole grain cereal low in sodium with the taste of real honey and almond flavor. As for the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios, the family-sized box contained sweetened whole grain Os with real cocoa and peanut butter. Fans of the flavors already appeared heartbroken in the reviews. 'NOOOOOO,' one person titled their review from this week. They added, 'Where is my favorite cereal? Not in my cereal bowl. Haven't been able to find it in months. Where are you Chocolate and Peanut Butter Cherrios?' A representative for General Mills did tell ABC News that although the options were leaving, the brand has been known to bring favorites back. Instagram creator @the_cerealqueen shared a post earlier this month about the trio of cereals leaving stores. These flavors include Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Oat Crunch, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios, and Honey Nut Cheerios 'Minis.' According to @the_cerealqueen, the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios tasted like a Reese's Puffs cereal, but 'with a stronger peanut butter chocolate that dominates over the sugar element.' Meanwhile, the Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Oat Crunch combined the classic Honey Nut Cheerios with 'multigrain-based flakes that had graham cracker flour' and honey clusters of granola with almonds. The third discontinued cereal, Honey Nut Cheerios 'Minis,' was simply a mini version of the usual Cheerios. However, it's unclear when exactly the three cereals were discontinued and why. In the comments of @the_cerealqueen's post, customers have expressed how disappointed they are about the cereals being shelved, while others said they're rushing to get their hands on the last boxes. 'Choc PB Cheerios are great and I just finished a box! didn't know it would maybe be my last. will look to get one more!' one wrote, while another added: 'Chocolate pb were my entire family's favorite.' 'Awww wait these flavors look awesome, I'm sad they won't be around!!' a third wrote. A fourth customer added: "Oh I really liked the minis, this is sad.' The news about these cereals being discounted comes after General Mills welcomed some new Cheerios products. In December, the company followed the viral trend of many food brands by adding protein to their products. More specifically, the brand launched Cheerios Protein, sold in Cinnamon and Strawberry. The flavors come with eight grams of protein per serving. According to a press release, the protein cereal came after General Mills launched different products in 2024, including 'fan favorite pantry staples featuring protein, like Wheaties Protein, Annie's Super Mac, and Yoplait Protein.' 'As protein continues to be an important priority for people of all ages, we specifically created Cheerios Protein with families in mind,' Emilie Knox, vice president and business unit director, Morning Foods at General Mills, said in a statement. 'We wanted it to taste great and to preserve the iconic Cheerios shape, but with a good source of protein, all in a convenient cereal we know everyone at the breakfast table will love — turning all mornings into good mornings.' In May, a customer on Instagram also spotted that General Mills has released Cheerios Protein Bars. The chewy treat is sold in two flavors, Mixed Berry and Chocolate Peanut Butter, with each bar offering seven grams of protein.

8 ice cream flavors recalled in Ohio
WAUSEON, Ohio — An Ohio-based creamery has announced a voluntary recall due to undeclared allergens in eight of their ice cream flavors. According to the Ohio Department of Agriculture, Turkeyfoot Creek Creamery of Wauseon, Ohio, is recalling the following flavors of ice cream; Avalanche, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Chocolate Strawberry, Chocolate Brownie Bites, Cookies and Cream, Cookie Dough, Cacao and Mocha. Massive egg recall hits Ohio Walmart stores The affected products are all packaged in pint containers and were distributed to six stores, located in Canton, Cleveland, West Unity, and Arlington, Ohio. As well, as two stores located out of state, with one in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and the other in Hudson, Michigan, read a press release from the Ohio Department of Agriculture. Young mother killed in shooting at Cleveland Metroparks Mill Creek Falls 'There have been no reports of illness involving products addressed in this recall, however, individuals exhibiting signs or symptoms of an allergic reaction after consuming Turkeyfoot Creek Creamery Ice Cream involved in this recall should contact a physician immediately,' stated the release. All affected products have been removed from store shelves. Consumers can return recalled products to the place of purchase for a refund. Consumers with questions can call 419-583-7124.
