WWE star Chelsea Green celebrates 10th anniversary of Tough Enough fail
The post WWE star Chelsea Green celebrates 10th anniversary of Tough Enough fail appeared first on ClutchPoints. Sometimes, it takes several opportunities to make it in professional wrestling, as former WWE Women's United States Champion Chelsea Green knows after competing on Tough Enough. Advertisement On Sunday, June 15, 2025, Green celebrated the 10th anniversary of her failed tryout for WWE's Tough Enough reality series. She posted several pictures of herself at the Performance Center as well as a screenshot of a message she posted on Facebook. 'Wow, it has been a VERY long 7 days… I will finally be on my way home from Orlando tomorrow,' her post from June 15, 2015, began. 'I didn't end up making the final cast of Tough Enough. But I've got plenty of amazing opportunities coming up that I can't wait to share!! 'Good luck to the 6 girls that did make the finals. I'm proud of all of them[.] and I will definitely be voting 😉 …and if you decide you aren't Tough Enough, don't worry, I'll step in for ya!' she continued. Advertisement The waiting game would pay off for Green. She would eventually be signed by WWE, joining the company in 2018 before her release in 2021. She would later return to WWE in 2023, and she has become a big part of the women's division. Since joining WWE after her Tough Enough elimination, Chelsea Green has received several high-profile opportunities. She won a tournament to become the inaugural Women's United States Champion, and she recently interviewed Ana de Armas for Ballerina, the new John Wick spin-off movie. Her return occurred at the 2023 Royal Rumble. Green was eliminated within seconds of joining the battle royal by Rhea Ripley. This kickstarted a 'Karen' gimmick that she has perfected, and she is frequently arguing with WWE officials. To win the Women's United States Championship tournament, Green had to go through several big names on the roster. She defeated Bianca Belair, Blair Davenport, and Bayley on her way to the finals. In the finals, she defeated Michin. Advertisement Green would continue to feud with Michin after winning the title. She had several successful title defenses against her before their feud ended. Her reign would last 132 days before dropping the title. Green eventually lost it to Zelina Vega during an episode of Friday Night SmackDown in April 2025. A rematch was held the following month at Saturday Night's Main Event. While Green put up a good fight, she lost, and her nose was injured as well. Chelsea Green Confirms Released WWE Superstar Was Planned For The Secret Hervice
Chelsea Green had plans for her Secret Hervice faction that never came to fruition. WWE SmackDown Superstar Chelsea Green was a recent guest on The Lightweights Podcast. While discussing the Secret Hervice, Green revealed that Blair Davenport was originally set to be the third member of her group until she was released, which opened the door to bring in Alba Fyre. Advertisement 'When we were talking about a third (member of Secret Hervice), at first it was going to be Blair Davenport,' Chelsea Green revealed. 'And when Blair was released. It was obviously a really — kind of like a bummer moment. Like man, maybe we're not gonna grow, maybe we're not gonna be a faction. 'We're just gonna be a tag team and then we both kind of had the idea, 'What if we can convince them to get Kay Lee? Alba.' Because Kay Lee is Piper's best friend from Scotland, from years of working together and she also lived with us in Japan. The three of us worked for STARDOM together so it's perfect. We have history, we have a relationship, we have a friendship, we mesh already, we know each other's quirks and downfalls too so we can work around those and it's just been really fun. 'I mean, it's a challenge always to be in a group. You're always gonna try to figure out week to week how you continue this. It's not just about you. You can't always be the center of attention. We have to figure out how to shift constantly and work around WWE's creative that week.' Chelsea Green Got a Heads-Up from Matt Cardona About Her WWE Release in 2021
Chelsea Green revealed that her husband, Matt Cardona, warned her just minutes before WWE officially released. In April 2021, WWE released Chelsea Green along with several other talents. While reflecting on that moment during an appearance on the Lightweights Podcast, Green explained that Cardona called her shortly before she received the news. The news gave her a brief moment to mentally prepare. Advertisement 'Matt called me, like, three minutes before I was fired, and said, 'You're about to get fired.' I don't know how,' Green recalled. 'I'm so glad he did, because it just gave me a split second in my kitchen… to, like, regroup, and be like, 'How am I gonna handle this?'' Chelsea Green immediately went into planning mode After the call, she immediately shifted into planning mode. She made a list of promotions she hadn't had the chance to work with before joining WWE. 'I immediately wrote down all the companies that I had not been able to get to before I got signed the first time. So that was like Ring of Honor and NWA.' She then contacted WWE to request an early release from her contract. 'Then I called WWE back and asked if I could be released from my contract early. So usually we have, you know, 90 days. I asked if I could be released, I believe, like on day 60 or 70, and forego my pay so I could get onto the indies earlier than the group… WWE said yes.' [H/T: Wrestlingnews] Advertisement In the same interview, Chelsea Green mentioned that there was another name set to be part of the Secret Hervice before her release. However, SmackDown GM was interrupted by Green's crew backstage. In a FaceTime with Green, she said she couldn't find an acceptable flight to the 'one-horse town' of Lexington, Kentucky. Advertisement As a result, she couldn't make it, and asked Aldis to postpone the match. Aldis was having none of it, though, and said that wouldn't be happening. Instead, it would Alba Fyre, who was available, to take her part. Green tried to protest, but Aldis was hearing none of it.
