Charlie Fleming cries after Michael Sager, Emilio Daez give way in duo match
Charlie Fleming could not help but cry out of frustration after Michael Sager and Emilio Daez gave away the victory in their duo match in "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition." On Thursday's episode of the reality series, Charlie and her duo, Esnyr, faced Michael and Emilio in the fourth duo match between housemates and house challengers. The match involved holding a ball holder with a ball on top, with the goal of making the other team's balls drop to the floor while protecting your own. Each person gets three balls, or three lives, each. They are also not allowed to step outside the game area, a white house painted on the floor. Michael and Emilio eliminated Esnyr first, leaving Charlie alone to face the both of them. However, MiLi dropped their balls one by one without challenge from Charlie, handing CharEs the win. "Nakita ko si Michael he was walking towards me lang po with the ball in his hand, he didn't even try po. Kaya ako nainis. Nasaktan po talaga ako na medyo nag-give way lang siya 'cause I know that's definitely not what they were really planning to do," Charlie told Kuya. "'Di ako proud na napanalo lang namin 'yun dahil sa give way. But I wanna be thankful, but I wanna be really, really thankful. I know nakita din po nila na lumaban ako," she added. Michael said he gave way so that the housemates can win the weekly budget and prepare themselves for the challenges coming their way as they get closer to the Big Night. "As a house challenger, nakuha ko naman 'yung kailangan ko sa kanila which was for them to step up. And I saw 'yung bunso ang nag-step up, si Charlie, and for me, OK na 'yun sa akin," he said. In the first three matches, BreKa (Brent Manalo and Mika Salamanca) won over ACLey (AC Bonifacio and Ashley Ortega), AzVer (AZ Martinez and River Joseph) won over KiSh (Kira Balinger and Josh Ford), and DusBi (Dustin Yu and Bianca De Vera) won over Viriel (Vince Maristela and Xyriel Manabat). The remaining match will be between RaWi (Ralph De Leon and Will Ashley) and ShuKla (Shuvee Etrata and Klarisse de Guzman). "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition" airs new episodes on GMA Network weeknights at 9:35 p.m. and Saturdays at 6:15 p.m. —MGP, GMA Integrated News

Boyfriend's desperate plea to drink driver moments before he killed girlfriend
Lillie Clack, 22, died in hospital days after the horror crash after she, her boyfriend and two other pals accepted a lift home from a man who was too drunk to drive following a night out at Winter Wonderland The boyfriend of a woman killed by a drunk-driver who crashed into a tree while trying to escape a police chase desperately begged the man to stop the vehicle and let them out, an inquest heard. Lillie Clack, 22, died in hospital days after the horror crash, which happened in the early hours of Christmas Day in 2021 after she, her boyfriend Jack Watson and two other pals enjoyed a night out at Winter Wonderland before visiting a pub. The driver Charlie Hilton, 25, was jailed for ten years and six months in February 2023 after pleading guilty to causing Lillie's death by dangerous driving, three counts of causing serious injury, failing to stop when directed by police and driving above the alcohol limit. Lillie's mum Debbie today wiped away tears while listening to the evidence at Croydon Town Hall. She sat on the front row of desks in the court, where she placed a framed photo of Lillie in front of her. In evidence today read out, South London Coroner's Court heard how heartbroken Jack Watson described the chase, telling investigators: "I would describe his manner of driving as dangerous and quick. "I think I might have said 'what are you doing? Why are you going so fast? "I was saying to Charlie 'stop the car, let me and Lillie out'. I remember Charlie telling me to 'shut up'. He was not listening. "I did not want to be in the car, I felt scared as I had been in a crash before. I just felt unsafe." The police chase, which included Hilton going through a red light and undertaking and overtaking other vehicles at estimated speeds of over 100mph, was terminated by police after they lost sight of the vehicle. But despite police stopping and turning off their sirens, Hilton carried on speeding before losing control of the car, which rolled over after crossing a railway track before crashing into a tree and setting on fire. Jack said: "I think police must have called off the chase as Charlie was going too fast." Five of the six people in the vehicle, including kitchen designer Lillie, were found unconscious by rescuers, who heroically dragged them out of the car and used fire extinguishers to put out the engine fire. Jack said: "The only memory I have of this is being pulled out on a stretcher. I was in shock. I asked 'where is Lillie?' I remember looking down and seeing Lillie in another stretcher. I knew then what had happened was bad." Jack told investigators he hadn't realised Hilton was under the influence of alcohol when he offered to drive him, Lillie and three other pals home in his mum's Mercedes in order to avoid pouring rain. He said: "When I saw Charlie I didn't think he looked drunk. I thought he was sober. I sat on the left side behind the passenger seat. Lillie was in the middle." Another passenger in the car, Delia Casey, who was then aged 21 and had been close pals with Lillie, of Morden, south London, since school, recalled feeling terrified during the chase. She said: "The car was driving so fast my memory of the incident is mostly a blur. Everyone was shouting inside the car. There was a lot going on and I was just feeling fearful for everyone in the car. The speed we were going at made me feel terrified." Delia, who was left seriously injured as a result of the crash, said she had little memory, but did recall Lillie's boyfriend Jack telling the driver: 'If you don't stop I'll beat you up.' She added: "Even after I visited Lillie's tree after the accident, I still had no memory of the crash." George Leggott, who was sitting behind the driver and next to Lillie, described how he and the other passengers wanted the chase to stop. He said it included an illegal U-turn and several speed cameras being set off before police stopped after losing the car. He said: "Jack was saying: 'Stop the f****** car, stop, they have stopped'. Jack said 'stop the car'. We were all shouting 'stop', but Charlie didn't stop." Speaking about his memory of the crash, he added: "I woke up on the side of the road. Someone told me I got pulled out by a member of the public. I don't remember this." The inquest continues.

BBC Breakfast halted as Charlie Stayt pulled off air mid sentence
BBC Breakfast was hit with a series of awkward blunders live on air on Thursday morning's show BBC Breakfast faced a mishap on Thursday (June 19) when presenter Charlie Stayt was unexpectedly pulled off air. During the latest edition of the popular morning show, Charlie and co-host Naga Munchetty were live on the iconic red sofa, covering key news stories from across the UK and around the globe to viewers across Britain. In addition to the main news coverage, regular presenter Mike Bushell appeared in the studio to present the sports segment, while meteorologist Matt Taylor brought the weather report live from a scenic lavender farm in the Cotswolds. Among the significant issues tackled during the show were the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the government's recent change to the Warm Home Discount scheme and the widespread impact of soaring prices in the UK, the Express reports. Later in the broadcast, conversation shifted to a more personal topic, mental health. The presenters began to discuss celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal about his bipolar disorder diagnosis. An emotional clip was then played, in which Blumenthal spoke candidly about his experience and the emotional and psychological struggles he has faced. Following the segment, Naga took a moment to direct viewers to mental health support lines for those who may be going through similar issues. However, just as Charlie was prepared to speak about the segment, he managed to get half a sentence in before he was suddenly taken off air. The show was hit with an unexpected blunder, causing confusion as the broadcast switched to local news. It was not confirmed whether the cut was due to a technical issue or a production error. This was not the only awkward mishap on today's programme, as during the weather forecast, presenter Matt's microphone produced a noticeable echo through the studio. Similarly, the situation continued during an interview segment when political correspondent Joe Pike's microphone failed entirely, cutting him off during an interview. In addition to the audio issues, the show suffered several different sequencing problems. These ongoing issues caused a lot of confusion among BBC viewers, as many of them took to social media to express their annoyance at the situation. Viewers turned to X, formally known as Twitter, to share their frustration. One person expressed: "Poor Charlie being cut off during the local news announcement, on his birthday too." As another said: "Looks like the interns have taken over the production room this morning. Sequencing issues, sound problems and cutting people off mid-flow," while a third simply stated: "The mics need upgrading." A fourth viewer shared the same opinion, saying: "The microphones are doing their own thing today," with someone else concerned, writing: "What is happening with all these technical issues?"
