One Piece creator teases return of major villain in Elbaf arc
Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for One Piece 's Elbaf Arc and Chapter 1150 . Today, as One Piece begins its Final Saga, the stakes have never been higher. This new Elbaf Arc is chock-full of daunting antagonists, unfathomable abilities, and a world teetering on the brink of destruction. Now, fans are buzzing about the development, but even more so about the twist. Eiichiro Oda might be teasing the return of Big Mom, one of the series' most notorious and deadly villains, previously thought deceased during battle. One Piece is a cultural phenomenon — a Japanese manga/anime co-created by Eiichiro Oda that has been serialized since the late 90s. It centers around Monkey D. Luffy and his pirate crew as they sail across a fantastical world of islands and seas, searching for the ultimate treasure known as the One Piece. Over its 25+ year run, it has become one of the largest and most impactful series in pop culture. Oda has always been against character revivals Yet Oda has gained a notorious reputation for steering clear from the anime trope of resurrecting dead characters. In previous interviews, he explained that bringing characters back to life lacks a natural cause and purpose and usually undermines the narrative. His most famous rule of all is no unforgettable characters – if a character is so popular that it would be a tragedy to lose them, they shouldn't have been killed off in the first act. 'I've always hated revivals since I was a kid. It makes me question the story,' Oda once said. 'I write One Piece for the 15-year-old version of myself.' As much as he avoids revivals, Oda is equally as cautious with character deaths. He leaves characters' fates ambiguous—an undetected storytelling trick that preserves the possibility of fan faves returning, without ever bending the rules of his own world. Elbaf arc hints at Big Mom's shocking comeback One of the largest teases in the current Elbaf arc is the potential return of Charlotte Linlin, more commonly known as Big Mom. As she lost in Wano to Law and Kid, she never died on screen. Now, here in Elbaf, her name and likeness are surfacing in nefarious ways. Killingham's Kirin ability conjures up children's nightmares, include a horrible mother figure—one that fans say resembles Big Mom exactly. Additionally, the titans of Elbaf have referenced her several times, suggesting that her tale is just beginning—even if it was recently concluded. Almost as unbelievable, one of those Blackbeard pirates was just quoted as saying the following on the talk show of your choice: 'We're facing the pirates who killed your mom.' — A possible reference to Pudding and Big Mom. Could Imu bring Big Mom back? Our shadowy global overlord Imu has already demonstrated that he or she possesses the devil fruit skills to raise people from the dead as mindless abominations. If Oda does decide to break his own rule, perhaps Elbaf would be the ideal arc to bring Big Mom back — either as a resuscitated villain or living dead horror under Imu's control. Considering that Elbaf is currently looking like the darkest, most serious arc of the entire series, Big Mom returning would have to be a huge turning point within the Final Saga. When is the next One Piece chapter coming out? One Piece Chapter 1151 will most likely be officially released on June 8, 2025, for the majority of the international readership. In Japan, the chapter release is at 12 AM JST on Monday, but readers in the US and UK will be able to read it as early as Sunday, June 8 on official platforms such as Manga Plus. Oda has always played the long game, planting seeds that take years to grow. With the end of One Piece in sight, no twist is too wild, and no villain too dead to return. Whether Big Mom comes back as a revived queen of terror or a cursed tool of Imu, one thing is certain—the Final Saga is only getting more intense from here. One Piece reveals Imu's terrifying powers: Here's everything we know so far
The mysterious big bad of the entire world finally takes center stage—and fans are shook. If you're not a diehard One Piece fan, you may be unfamiliar with Imu. In the fictional universe of this popular anime and manga series, Imu is the hooded person who runs the World Government from behind the scenes. Introduced during the Levely Arc, Imu has only just recently begun to display their true abilities and the current manga chapters are showing just how horrifying Imu can be. So, in Chapter 1150 of the One Piece manga, the creator Eiichiro Oda has finally been able to show us just how disturbing the powers of Imu truly are. Some of these powers are so unbelievably powerful, they can compare to the most powerful and infamous Devil Fruits known to exist. Whether you're a One Piece veteran or just getting your feet wet, here's an easily digestible, spoiler-free guide to every power Imu has displayed thus far. 1. Possession: Imu can take over other people's bodies Imu has the ability to completely take over the bodies of her followers, most notably the God's Knights. When she commandeers a knight named Gunko, she maneuvers the body like a puppet but much more thoroughly and terrifyingly than anything we've seen so far. This is a departure from Devil Fruits such as Doflamingo's, which control motion. Imu's control is absolute—mind, body, and soul. 2. Demon form: Imu transforms into a monster In an early scene, when Imu takes over a person's body, the victim's transformation is horrifying. Read on, and get your creative ideas boiling to include wings, tail, horns—the true demon aesthetic. Her devotees literally transform into these giant beastly shapes. Whether a part of this transformation suggests the legacy of an old race or lost force, like a Magellan-esque looking Magellan, the toxic jailer from the draw Impel Down arc. 3. Conqueror's haki so strong it crushes giants Haki is already one of the most powerful forces in the One Piece universe, but Imu raises the bar even higher. When she enters the battlefield, her Conqueror's Haki is described as so powerful that it automatically takes out Giant warriors. That even the very best of the best fighters, like Shanks, have never been shown doing it…until now. 4. Summoning weapons out of thin air Geared up, in the heat of battle, Imu conjures a giant gun and dagger out of thin air. This is deeper than Devil Fruits like Baby 5's, who turn her body into weapons. Imu doesn't change—she just makes sledgehammers and ice picks and fire hoses from thin air. 5. Instant teleportation using magic circles You don't often see teleportation in One Piece, but Imu just shifts through space without a care. It's one of the most incredible powers in a show filled with them. She can draw blazing magic circles in the air and magically teleport herself, her entire magical girl army, or even massive weapons, across enormous leaps. Unlike yet another charlatan who set up their plays in slow motion, she sets up her entire play mid-air and virtually instantaneously. She is faster than any God's Knight. 6. Demon contracts: Turning people into immortal monsters Remarkably, Imu is able to write contracts that transform individuals into monstrous, demon-like soldiers. These contracts don't require anyone's approval. She can impose them unilaterally on whomever she pleases. Once the agreement is reached, the individual turns into an unparalleled clearing-device of death, answering to Imu's every whim, similar to Sugar's doll slaves from Dressrosa. 7. Total mind control Arguably, one of the spookiest aspects of Imu's power is mind control. Once she has someone under her influence, they're not just physically altered—they're mentally controlled. This is even deeper than the deepest recorded Devil Fruit. It's even more impressive than Pudding's memory-altering powers or Breed's anime-only control collars. Is Imu the most powerful villain in One Piece? Fans are left wondering now, as the series continues to ramp up towards its conclusion, whether or not Imu is, in fact, the final boss of One Piece. Her powers aren't just physical—they're emotional, mental, and even magical. Whether her powers are attributed to a Devil Fruit, ancient technology, or something even older, it's obvious she's in a league of her own. As the One Piece manga heads into its last saga, look for Imu to get even more dangerous. We've just gotten a taste of her power and if that taste is this horrifying, the fully realized powers she could unleash would alter reality completely. One Piece chapter 1150 spoilers reveal Imu's terrifying powers and Elbaph's new demon kings
One Piece Chapter 1150 leaks reveal Imu's immense power (image via Toei Animation) The latest One Piece chapter 1150 spoilers have sent shockwaves through the fandom, revealing a series of earth-shattering developments that place Imu at the center of the chaos. With the unofficial title 'Domi Reversi,' the chapter not only showcases Imu's newly confirmed Conqueror's Haki but also introduces a fearsome technique known as the 'Devil's Contract,' reshaping the power dynamics on Elbaph and beyond. Imu's Conqueror's Haki leaves Elbaph's mightiest warriors trembling Chapter 1150 opens with a stunning display of raw power. Imu, disguised as Gunko, unleashes an overwhelming blast of Conqueror's Haki that knocks out adult Giants and even their children. What makes this moment especially significant is the phrasing in the leaks, suggesting 'it's Imu's Conqueror's Haki rather than Gunko's.' If true, this marks the first confirmed usage of the advanced Haki by the secretive ruler, further solidifying their position as a major endgame threat. — pewpiece (@pewpiece) Despite the devastating blow, Dorry, Brogy, and several of the Giant Warrior Pirates remain standing and attempt to counterattack Imu. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trade Bitcoin & Ethereum – No Wallet Needed! The 'Devil's Contract' turns Elbaph's heroes into immortal demon kings Imu takes the conflict to another level by drawing upon a 'magic book' to summon mystical weapons—knives and guns—which he hurls at Brogy, wounding him. Then comes the game-changer: Imu declares, 'since Elbaph has no king currently, Dorry and Brogy will become its new rulers.' Using the sinister 'Devil's Contract,' Imu transforms the legendary Giant duo into powerful demon-like entities, granting them immense strength and immortality in exchange for part of their lifespan. This technique might be the source of the Gorosei's and Holy Knights' seemingly immortal abilities, hinting at deeper world-building revelations to come. By the end of the chapter, Imu commands a growing legion of demonic Giants—described as 'Giant devils'—as well as terrifying MMA-like monsters created by Saint Rimoshifu Killingham. With these massive warriors, some rivaling Oars in size, Imu sets his sights on eliminating Jarul, though the reason remains unknown.
