Holocaust survivor shares story at Mahomet library
MAHOMET, Ill. (WCIA) — The Village of Mahomet welcomed Holocaust survivor Dr. William Gingold to speak at the library Tuesday night.
86-year-old Gingold shared his family's accounts and overall history of the Nazi invasion into Poland in 1939. He told these details to a crowded room of more than 50 people.

Library director John Howard said the only thing more amazing than the turnout was hearing Gingold's story.
'You know, history is so important,' Howard said. 'If we don't remember our history, we're going to repeat it. And it's great that people come out — and really, a lot of people came out — to hear about it.'
The Champaign-Urbana Jewish Federation put on the event.
