Jason Isaacs says ‘global icon' co-star was ‘worst bully ever': ‘Never seen anything like it'

Don't miss out on the headlines from Celebrity Life. Followed categories will be added to My News. Jason Isaacs revealed that one of his 'global icon' co-stars was the 'worst bully ever'. The White Lotus star recalled a prominent actor pushing him out of a shot in a candid interview with Vulture, published this week. 'Oh Jesus. Did worse than that,' the actor remembered. The unnamed A-lister 'did all the old tricks of doing a completely different performance off-camera than on,' Isaacs, 62, claimed, per Page Six. 'Yeah, it sucked. I'd never seen anything like it,' he continued. 'Before, I would've licked the ground that this person walked on.' Isaacs opened up about his 'bully' co-star. Picture: Lisa O'Connor/AFP While the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets star did not identify the thespian in question, he did share he has worked with many people who were 'bonkers'. Isaacs previously spoke about the co-star in question in a 2011 interview with the Telegraph, meaning we can at least narrow down that the negative experience took place before then. 'When I think someone's terrible, someone else might think they're brilliant. One of the things that's very charismatic is madness,' he told Vulture. Isaac clarified that what he 'mostly … judge[s] on set is bad behaviour.' He said: 'It's selfishness, cruelty, bullying, or people complaining to the person who's getting them dressed, who doesn't get in a year what they earn in a day to pick their filthy underwear off the floor.' Isaacs said he also noticed when actors didn't show up, left work to go home early, did drugs and called 'prostitutes to their trailer'. 'I come across all that stuff,' he shared. The actor in Harry Potter. He also recently starred in The White Lotus. Isaacs said he would not name any names because 'there is no value, other than masochism and sabotage, in telling people the truth about people I've worked with or experiences I've had.' He concluded, 'Acting is all about secrets.' Elsewhere in the interview, Isaacs spoke about the 'very low' pay cheque of US$40,000 ($61,000) per episode he and his co-stars received for working on season three of The White Lotus. 'Generally actors don't talk about pay in public because it's ridiculously disproportionate to what we do — putting on makeup and funny voices — and just upsets the public,' he said. 'But compared to what people normally get paid for big television shows, that's a very low price.' However, the Golden Globe nominee acknowledged, 'The fact is, we would have paid to be in it. We probably would have given a body part.' This article originally appeared in Page Six and was reproduced with permission. Hogwarts taught students more than spells: 7 life lessons, one from each Harry Potter book

With a graceful wrist movement, swish and flick, raise your wand and enunciate clearly: 'Wingardium Leviosa.' This spell marks one of the most basic yet enchanting skills in the Hogwarts world: Levitation. While many still await their Hogwarts letter, countless readers have already made space for magic in their everyday lives through the powerful life lessons embedded in J.K. Rowling's beloved series. Each novel in this iconic saga transports readers to a world of Quidditch matches, secret passages, and snowy visits to Hogsmeade. But beyond the spells and enchantments, the books offer timeless lessons that resonate deeply with young, ambitious minds. As students journey through the series, they find that magic lies not just in charms and potions, but in courage, friendship, and self-discovery. Here are seven meaningful takeaways, one from each book, that bring a little Hogwarts magic into students' real lives. 1. The Philosopher's Stone: Your beginning isn't your destiny A young bullied boy discovers his reality is far greater than what he could ever think of. HBO's "Harry Potter" Series: A Guide to Who's Heading to Hogwarts

Yara Sameh It's almost time for a whole new generation of wizards and witches to get into Hogwarts. 'Harry Potter,' the beloved fantasy book series from author J.K. Rowling that was turned into a blockbuster film franchise, is coming to HBO as a new TV series. Each of the seven books in the series, 'Sorcerer's Stone,' 'Chamber of Secrets,' 'Prisoner of Azkaban,' 'Goblet of Fire,' 'Order of the Phoenix,' 'Half-Blood Prince' and 'Deathly Hallows,' will each be adapted into one season of TV. In May 2025, the trio of lead roles had finally been unveiled: Dominic McLaughlin will play the role of Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton will play Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout will play Ron Weasley. The three are largely newcomers with few prior acting credits. McLaughlin acted in 'Grow,' a comedy on Sky with Nick Frost and Golda Rosheuvel, Stanton starred as Matilda in the musical of the same name in the West End, and Stout had no prior acting credits. HBO auditioned more than 32,000 children for the lead role of Harry Potter, famously originated by Daniel Radcliffe. Executive producer Mark Mylod said that the casting team had been reviewing between 500 and 1,000 audition tapes per day. 'After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron. The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen. We would like to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned. It's been a real pleasure to discover the plethora of young talent out there,' said showrunner Francesca Gardiner and executive producer and director Mark Mylod in a statement revealing the three actors. Other series regulars include 'Conclave' star John Lithgow as Album Dumbledore, 'I May Destroy You' breakout star Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, 'Tumbleweeds' Oscar nominee Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall and 'Shaun of the Dead' comedian Nick Frost as Hagrid. Meanwhile, Paul Whitehouse (Tom Stoppard's 'Leopoldstadt,' Rupert Goold's 'Patriots') and Luke Thallon ('The Fast Show,' 'Harry & Paul') take on recurring roles as Hogwarts caretaker Argus Filch and Defense Against the Dark Arts professor Quirinus Quirrell, respectively. The 'Harry Potter' series is written and executive produced by Gardiner, who also serves as showrunner. Mylod will executive produce and direct multiple episodes of the series for HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television. The series is executive produced by author J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies
