Patanjali Foods Ltd. has disclosed a regulatory development involving one of its products, Ruchi No 1 Vanaspati. The company received an official email communication on June 20, 2025, from the Assistant Director of the FSSAI's Central Licensing Authority in Kolkata. The notice prohibits the sale of a specific batch—HAE03702A—of Ruchi No 1 Vanaspati, citing non-conformity with a prescribed norm under Section 3(1)(zz)(xii) of the Food Safety & Standards Act, 2006.
The company clarified that the issue pertains only to this batch and emphasized that the total financial implication is limited to approximately Rs 2.27 lakh. Patanjali Foods stated that there will be no material impact on the company's financial or operational performance due to this order.
As a response, the company is pursuing appropriate legal action and has initiated an appeal against the order. No penalties, other than the prohibition of sale for the identified batch, have been imposed so far.
This update was shared with the stock exchanges under Regulation 30 of SEBI Listing Regulations.
