Deputy Prime Minister Al-Madani & Lahj Governor inaugurate service projects in Al-Qabitah District

Lahj - Saba: Deputy Prime Minister for Local Administration and Rural Development, Mohammed Al-Madani, alongside Lahj Governor Ahmed Juraib, inaugurated on Tuesday several community initiative projects and direct intervention projects in developmental and service sectors in Al-Qabitah District. The inaugurated projects included the Damran Water Project, which involved the supply and installation of galvanized iron pipes with fittings, the construction of a concrete reservoir, and a solar-powered pumping unit at a cost of 59,803,000 Yemeni riyals. Additionally, the Al-Haydeen Project was launched to rehabilitate four water reservoirs and install a solar-powered pumping unit at a cost of 22,128,000 riyals, funded by the Central Emergency Developmental Interventions Unit. Al-Madani and Juraib also inaugurated ten stone-paving projects under the Road Initiatives Support Program, 106 water projects under the Water and Sanitation Initiatives Support Program, two projects to enhance , reduce rural water costs, and an equipment maintenance project, with a total cost of 108,875,000 riyals. During the inauguration ceremony—attended by Ministry of Local Administration Undersecretaries Mansour Al-Lakumi, Jamal Al-Alawi, Ammar Al-Harib, and Ramah Hibah, as well as the Executive Director of the Central Interventions Unit, Engineer Shihab Al-Shami—Deputy Prime Minister Al-Madani emphasized the importance of supporting agricultural and developmental activities in partnership with the community, leveraging the resources available in Al-Qabitah District. He noted that community engagement would be strengthened through the district's multipurpose cooperative association, which will facilitate the implementation of numerous projects in collaboration between the government, local authorities, and the community. Al-Madani stressed the focus on service and social aspects in the district, particularly in water and road infrastructure, while enhancing developmental progress through partnerships between government entities, local authorities, and the community. He also affirmed the Central Interventions Unit's continued support for local authorities, prioritizing economic empowerment programs to transform community members into productive contributors. For his part, Governor Juraib praised the government's efforts in supporting local authorities to provide services and advance development. He highlighted the significance of backing community initiatives to meet the population's essential service needs. Earlier, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Governor, and ministry undersecretaries reviewed ongoing work on the Damran Dam flood debris removal project and the construction of the local authority building in the province. In a related meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Al-Madani—attended by local authority leaders, ministry undersecretaries, and the director of the Interventions Unit—the province's project needs and required support to enhance services and development in partnership with the community were discussed. Mahweet - Saba: Engineer Mukhtar al-Turki, representing the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit in Mahweet province on Monday inspected the ongoing construction of al-Hasi Water Barrier Project in al-Khabt district. The project, with a storage capacity of 22,948 cubic meters and a cost of 156.85 million Y.R, is expected to benefit over 1,800 people. During the inspection, Engineer al-Turki highlighted the Central Interventions Unit's support for such projects as crucial for expanding rural water infrastructure and raising community awareness of its importance for improved living conditions and sustainable development. He stated the visit aligns with directives to review project progress and promote grain cultivation for self-sufficiency, in accordance with the directives of the "Leader of the Revolution" and the Supreme Political Council. Ali Qatina, director of al-Khabt district emphasized that these strategic barrier projects are a long-awaited dream for residents, expected to capture significant seasonal rainwater for agricultural irrigation and recharging groundwater and drinking water wells. He added that the water barriers will help alleviate the water crisis and provide sustainable water sources for villagers and farmers by effectively collecting and utilizing rainwater. Bayda - Saba: On Sunday, April 27, 2025, Al Bayda Governor Abdullah Idris inaugurated the Al Rabat Water Project in Dhi Na'im District. The project was implemented by the Central Interventions Unit of the Ministry of Local Administration and the branch of the Rural Water Projects Authority in the governorate. The project cost 61 million riyals and included the installation of a solar-powered pump, the extension of pipes of various sizes, and the construction of a concrete tank. The project will provide drinking water to more than 5,640 citizens in the area and will contribute to alleviating the suffering of the residents. During the inauguration, the governor emphasized the importance of developing rural water projects and using solar energy instead of diesel to reduce costs. The project included the supply and installation of a solar-powered pumping unit and pipes of various diameters, and the construction of a concrete tank at a cost of 61 million riyals, funded by the Central Interventions Unit. During the handover, attended by the Director of the District, Murad Al-Riyami, the Director of the Rural Water Projects Authority branch in Baydha, Engineer Hassan Al-Kahali, emphasized the Interventions Unit's commitment to supporting water projects in the governorate. It has funded many projects in the most deprived areas, including this project, with the aim of providing drinking water to residents of the area, which suffers from a shortage of drinking water supplies. For their part, Mohammed Nashwan, the representative of the Central Interventions Unit in Dhamar and Baydha Governorates, and Engineer Najmuddin Faisal, the Director of the Water and Energy Department at the unit, emphasized that the unit's leadership prioritizes projects that serve deprived areas. They explained that the project will provide drinking water to more than 5,640 people in the beneficiary area at a low cost, as the solar-powered pumping unit will be an alternative to diesel, thus reducing the burden on citizens. Sa'ada: al-Qahr area road inaugurated in Baqim district

Sa'ada - Saba: Sa'ada governor Mohammed Jaber on Tuesday inaugurated al-Qahr area Road in Baqim district in Sa'ada province at a cost of 200 million Yemeni Y.R. The road benefits five districts, connecting al-Qahr area to the asphalt line in the district center, passing through Bani al-Harith, Maali, Sharawa, and Yasnam areas, significantly reducing the distance from 100 kilometers to approximately 10 kilometers. Governor Jaber and Baqim district director Mohammed Qafla, received a briefing on the project. The community contributed 70 million Y.R, while the local authority, the Central Interventions Unit, the Road Maintenance Fund, and the Executive Unit for Road Construction and Maintenance completed the project. The governor praised the efforts made to complete the project, which connects al-Qahr area to the center of Baqim district, emphasizing the importance of implementing projects that alleviate citizens' suffering.
